Unprofessional service
John Lacey attended my property late for a valuation and mentioned he had mistaken it for another property in my road. He was unable to provide a valuation on the day and despite agreeing to follow up the next day, no response was received.
My property is a well-presented home on the Heaver Estate. While it may not be a multi-million-pound house, it clearly wasn’t of interest to this agent. The attitude came
across as arrogant and dismissive.
Plenty of estate agents in Balham are professional and responsive and are keen to market my property, and I will be instructing one of them instead. Based on this
experience, I would not recommend Rampton Basely.

Although this is my experience renting with them, it is relevant for buying.
This agency just throw apt on the market and doesn’t check basic hygiene (such as used water pipes all open next to the bedroom window, severe mould in the washing machine that is also not working properly after replacement of the rubber that was covered with mould), doesn’t check the landlords (mine has given keys to an unknown person against my will, and it took me a week of constant emailing to explain that I am going to at least need the ID of this unknown person), the extractor fan is releasing dust and tiny stones on the stove, the landlords in the building are not insuring shared areas are cleaned, the landlord also changed the time of the inventory appointment and was alone with the inventory person from this agency in the flat… resulting in an inventory I didn’t agreed with, and yet… the landlord tried to force it on me.
Apparently a “professional cleaning” from this agency was done; windows and blinds were obviously ignored, mould situation as well.
Before moving in and just after signing and paying, this letting agency “informed me of changes from the landlord on the tenancy agreement”, expecting me to sign without discussing. Imagine if it was a house you were buying….
The agency doesn’t care and find perfectly acceptable despite high pricing of flats.
Avoid them at all costs, even for buying.

From the start of the process they listened to our individual requirements for selling a house while still looking after young children and were supportive of our decisions. They didn't over value the house (an old trick to lock you into a contract then force you to lower the price) and were never pushy. I felt they were honest in their strategy and know the market. We had several legitimate offers within 6 days of our first viewing.
Once we had an offer, Maartje was amazing with pushing this process through to completion. Not only was she a great liaison between ourselves and our buyers, she also ensured the onward chain maintained momentum and kept us informed throughout the process. Rampton Baseley would be my top choice in the SW17 area.

Very happy with the service we received buying our house with the help of RB. Elsa and George were great. They accommodated us seeing the house numerous times and took our builders for viewings too. They also provided us with helpful contacts (such as surveyors, roof experts and lawyers) that helped us feel comfortable completing. From start (seeing the house for the first time) to finish (moving in), the process only took 2 months as they helped push everything along very quickly. We were congratulated with a lovely bottle of gin which was a nice touch. After the horrendous experience we had with Dexters during our rental, it felt like an entirely different experience.
I would definitely look to buy / sell through them again and am already considering renting through them in the future

Rampton Baseley were excellent from start to finish in our house sale. John was knowledgeable and told us his views on price - not too high but at the right price. The team viewed the property and we had 35+ viewings. All staff were on time with viewings, courteous and feedback was immediate on each viewing. We got above asking price and the team managed the process exceptionally well.
Maartje helped with the exchange and completion and we had 110% trust in her views - she went above and beyond by even helping confirm details with a window company in verifying the guarantee details. Pushing both solicitors when needed really helped.
Ramptons also sponsor a local school which also gives back to the local community. Highly recommended estate agent.

His communication is clear and to the point, so everyone knows where they stand throughout. He was often willing to go above and beyond, taking calls on days off/at weekends to facilitate the process.
