Terrible agent<br><br>I went to view a house last week. I had no contact from the estate agent to ask me for feedback, so I resorted to submitting an offer by email. I got a receipt saying they had accepted my offer, and that was it nothing more.<br><br>I didn't hear anything for over a week, so I sent a courtesy email to them asking for an update, to which I received an out-of-office notice from the 'senior negotiator' with no sign that my message had been passed on. So I sent my follow-up email to the office instead.<br><br>6 hours later a got a phone call saying they had taken another offer from someone else.<br><br>At no point was I informed of any offers, or the seller's situation and how they will be dealing with offers, which in this process is valuable information.<br><br>In reality, I could improve my offer, had a solicitor ready to act, and a mortgage in place and a deposit, which make me a low-risk buyer.<br><br>I find this lack of communication poor when dealing with people's emotions and money. I understand I lost out to a cash buyer, which is understandable as that is a good position to be in. My frustrations aren't with the seller but the estate agent as this does not account for their poor/lack of communication through the process... Read more
