12th Aug 2026 (11 days ago)Charles Ball and Greg Nickson were both absolutely fantastic. We had a buyer drop out at a late stage and they had it re-listed and under offer again almost immediately. I found them very responsive and open to all manner of queries. The volume of viewings we had was also very good and we received regular feedback from those viewings. Would highly recommend them both. I think the higher fee is warranted for the service they provide.

Francesca and David was helpful, supportive and easy to communicate with throughout the process. They always responded quickly to my questions and made the purchase feel much smoother and less stressful. I’m very happy with the service I received and would definitely recommend them!

We looked at many properties in the area around Wantage to rent and found Davis Tate to be very helpful, professional and friendly. Dominic was really great with us as we didn't know the area very well at all. Suzie very helpful when finalising the rental agreement. I would recommend Davis Tate.

11th Aug 2026 (12 days ago)I had a great experience with Thomas Merrifield, and Alex in particular was fantastic throughout the whole process.<br><br>He was incredibly responsive and always kept me informed, so I never felt like I was chasing for updates. I really appreciated how protective he was, while also being persistent when needed to keep things moving with solicitors and the other parties involved.<br><br>Most importantly, Alex is just a genuinely nice guy who clearly cares about his clients and getting the right outcome for them.<br><br>I’d highly recommend Alex and the Thomas Merrifield team to anyone buying or selling a property.
18th Aug 2026 (5 days ago)Mixed bag service.<br>We mainly dealt with Damien, which overall was a positive experience, very professional. However our process went on for just under a year, which takes it's toll on everyone in it.<br><br>However reason for the 2 star reduction is for the handling of a situation on moving day by other staff. It was extremely poor and added additional stress to everyone involved.

He is friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable, and takes the time to answer all our questions. 7th Feb 2025 (1 year ago)After minimal success with our first Agent in selling our house, we chose to move to 'James Gesner Estate agents' due to their knowledge of Wallingford and the surrounding area and specifically one area. Having the team represent our sale, and then to find us a property in the area we were looking to move, I would comment that James and the team were exceptional. The data (marketing report) that they provide against the sales element was informative, the viewings that they conducted, were very professional and the correspondence was always relevant, and always available. James is very knowledgeable where it matters and worked tirelessly in supporting both the house sale and purchase, and I felt that he really went above and beyond in providing a great service and doesn't seem to switch off by providing updates whilst in Mexico. James Gesner Estate Agency will certainly be first on my list for any House sales/Letting.

It has been a challenging task but the team never let go of the job and eventually it paid off. Also Nicky arranged a private sale of a cottage in the Village that will suit our needs very well. Our thanks to Nicky and her team for a job well done.

They kept us updated every step of the way, so we always knew what was happening, which made the whole buying process so much less stressful.<br><br>Everyone was incredibly friendly, approachable and genuinely helpful. The communication was fantastic throughout, and it really felt like they valued us as customers and wanted to do everything they could to help. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and any questions we had were answered quickly.<br><br>We couldn't recommend them enough and are so grateful for all of their support in helping us buy our new home. 31st Jul 2026 (23 days ago)Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. It took almost four months for us to receive our deposit back, during which time we were repeatedly pressured to accept almost £400 in proposed deductions.<br><br>We disputed the charges and ultimately took the matter to independent adjudication, which rules in our favour. This was particularly frustrating given that the issues had been reported during our tenancy and necessary maintenance was not carried out in a timely manner.<br><br>This was unfortunately part of a wider pattern of poor property management. At one point during the tenancy, we were left without gas, meaning we had no hot water or cooking facilities, for months while the landlord and boiler company disputed payment.<br><br>Overall, we felt that the focus was on passing maintenance costs onto the tenants rather than properly addressing issues during the tenancy. The fact that independent adjudication ultimately found in our favour was very telling.- 6th Aug 2026 (17 days ago)We were delighted with the service we received from the Wallingford branch of Thomas Merrifield. He quickly understood the property, set out a clear strategy, and impressed us with his honesty, flexibility, and ambition.<br><br>Communication was excellent throughout, with Luke always available to answer questions and offer guidance. Tiffany was also a pleasure to work with, helping with viewings and queries, while Mark provided great support whenever Luke was away.<br><br>We accepted an offer within days, and despite a few inevitable hurdles before completion, the process was smooth overall thanks to Luke and the team. We would have no hesitation in recommending Thomas Merrifield to anyone looking to move in the area.

They supported me during a very difficult and stressful period when my previous landlord served me with a Section 21 notice and I urgently needed to find suitable accommodation for my family. From the very beginning, the team was professional, understanding, and respectful. The agent took the time to listen to my circumstances, treated me with kindness and dignity, and worked hard to help me find the right property. Their communication was excellent throughout the process, and they were always available to answer questions and provide reassurance when needed. Moving home can be an overwhelming experience, but the support and guidance I received made the process much smoother and less stressful.
