Although there were Googlemaps issues with my advert, he persevered with having Google fix the problem . His communication is excellent: prompt and courteous. The subcontractors he appoints for photography and home report are top quality. I would not hesitate to use his services again.

From the very first contact, they were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. They guided us through every step of the process with clarity and confidence, making what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and well-managed. Their communication was excellent — we were kept informed at every stage, and no question ever felt too small. They clearly know the local market inside out and gave us fantastic advice that helped us achieve a great result in a short space of time. What really stood out was how personable and proactive the team were — they truly went above and beyond. 5th Aug 2026 (18 days ago)I have no hesitation in recommending McDougall McQueen if you are looking to sell your home.<br><br>My initial contact was with Sylvia at McDougall McQueen who managed the all the processes involved in marketing, viewings and finding the right buyer.<br><br>Conveyancing was handled by Bobby Fife with my sale completed within 7 weeks!<br><br>I have been very impressed by their knowledge and professionalism, and really appreciated their advice and efficiency.<br><br>Communication was fantastic throughout. A speedy response to any queries I had, and frequent updates to what was going on.<br><br>Would absolutely look to Sylvia and McDougall McQueen if I was looking to buy or sell in the future.
22nd Sep 2024 (1 year ago)We chose Gillespie Macandrew because we wanted the whole selling process (including the calculation of capital gains tax) to be under one roof. Gillespie Macandrew more than lived up to our expectations. The marketing, conveyancing and capital gains processes were all sequentially and logically implemented and there was always someone on hand to answer our questions. The stress involved in selling a property was greatly reduced, the sale went smoothly and efficiently, and we received a price well above the valuation.

Going forward with the house sale, Robert couldn't have been better, keeping me updated throughout the whole process, it was outstanding service and second to none. Thanks to the experience I received from Drummond Miller through Robert, I intend to use them again very soon when I sell my parents' house. Highly recommend without reservation
11th Mar 2021 (5 years ago)Not great - would not use again. Did nothing to find interested parties in first few weeks until I had to call a senior team member to complain... Not ideal - feel like they had too much work to handle mine at the time. Would have fathered they had just said they were too busy than wait too I was stressed and lost out on buyers.

Communication throughout the process was excellent and once we accepted the offer on our house the legal team at Thorntons were equally exceptional. Our solicitor was always on hand to answer our questions and provide us with best advice. Thank you for taking the stress out of selling a house!

Supported from start to finish. I would highly recommend Karen if you are looking to buy and/or sell properties.<br>Karen has great knowledge of many local areas and committed to the process till the point properties are concluded and keys are handed to new owners, and if needed beyond this point too. While selling can be a stressful experience Karen remained a constant professional but friendly calmness providing helpful advice and knowledge.

19th Aug 2026 (4 days ago)Having sold seven houses in the past, I found my experience with Niksen to be underwhelming and somewhat average. Although far from terrible, there where a number of disappointments throughout the process. First off, the quoted prices for the photographer and Home Report turned out to be different. Hardly earth-shattering, but an annoying detail that ended up costing me slightly more than expected. The presentation of images and copy I’d say was average, but not as good as other high-end estate agents that I’ve used previously. When it came to selling, the accompanied viewings are a plus point, but I hadn’t expected a running commentary from the estate agent on who they thought should or should not have the property. Surely that’s for me to decide and not the agent. Very unprofessional I thought. Once I’d accepted the offer I heard next to nothing from Niksen. My solicitor worked extremely hard (for far less money than Niksen’s fee it should be noted) to ensure a smooth sale. Previously, I’ve used agents that provide a weekly update with how the sale progressed, but there was nothing for about six weeks from Niksen. In fairness, when I did contact them, they did investigate and chase up the sale, but I felt I shouldn’t have to chase them up myself. Oddly, a week after the sale had completed, Niksen contacted me to ask how the sale was progressing! I checked with my solicitor and he’d paid them already, so it appears they could do with some better internal coms between accounts and sales. What’s worse, for weeks afterwards they’ve pestered me via email, WhatsApp and phone for feedback. So here it is. Not terrible, but a very average experience.
