27th Aug 2026 (3 days ago)I have found the all members of Barnard Marcus team to be totally professional, reliable and capable in selling my home. More importantllh for me they are approachable, friendly and have gone over an above their role to support me. The manager Francesca has been especially patient, and provided me with a listening ear, able to provide sound advice during what at times has been a challenging process of selling my property. I highly recommend using BM for anyone else who wants to sell their home.
15th Aug 2026 (15 days ago)I rented on Cornwall Gardens in South Kensington through Chestertons (South Kensington office). The flat was left full of the landlord's own belongings (dingy pillows, dirty guest mattress under the bed, business supplies like business cards/magazines/junk, AirBnB supplies, dingy bins, food, a vacuum cleaner, etc.). I flagged it, and the landlord authorised his own contractor, via Chestertons, to remove “all the items.”<br><br>At move-out the flat was professionally cleaned and the independent check-out report called it “in very good order.” Even so, the landlord tried to deduct around £929 from my deposit — including for a vacuum (£749) and a bin his own contractor had removed on his instruction. His story kept changing, and he even reported his own contractor to the police over the same items at the same time, attempting to extort one of us. I did not feel supported by Chestertons throughout.<br><br>Never forget that their client is ultimately the landlord and even though they need tenants and woo them (talking a big game like the Associate Director), they do not care about the tenants. They service the landlord only. Since the landlords pay them a fee to manage the property, all roads lead to taking their side and only caring about them. Last fall, the heat and hot water went out, and the toilets didn’t flush (building sewage back-up). The ordeal took 15 days, and the Chestertons after hours team told me to boil pots of hot water and get a heater. With the toilets, they said they couldn’t do anything unless it was a hazmat situation and to use the bathroom and let it pile up then complain. They have no real concern, care, or customer service for tenants. Your assigned property manager doesn't care either. They will feed you canned, "professional" lines that always support the landlord even when the landlord is in the wrong or lying. They will not help you when you go to TDS either. They will only help the landlord.<br><br>The dispute went to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and I won — my deposit was returned. Tenants: photograph everything, get it in writing, keep a timeline, and don't accept unfair deductions. Don't believe their smiles, their stuffy Britishisms (I'm an American and was fooled), or their promises to diffuse situations. They don't care about their tenants.

The KFH team were excellent at securing multiple viewings eventually securing a buyer for my flat. Thank you so much Paul and Candy and I cannot recommend your services enough.

20th Oct 2025 (10 mo. ago)Used Ashtons as was a prospective buyer of a property they marketed. Not so many issues with the office but the sales progression team were always quite slow to respond and could never get through to the assigned person to my case. Additionally used ashtons to sell my property and I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience. The problems began immediately. The agency provided an initial valuation to secure our business in July, only to suggest a £25,000 price reduction after just one week, admitting there was no interest. Despite agreeing to the reduction, it did not correlate to an increase in activity which would lead to questions around marketing and resource as Ashtons list a lot of properties. By September, they had only managed to secure two viewings. We received absolutely no feedback from either of these viewings, despite requesting it, leaving us completely in the dark. Lastly thier fees are quite opaque and if youre new to selling read through everything very carefully. In the non flex fees there are baked in withdrawal fees that ensure ashtons get paid regardless if they sell or not. Which gives them little incentive to really push your property in my opinion. The alternative is you pay money up front to them to sell your property which is preposterous. Fundamentally all the agents use rightmove to market your property and that's where most people go to find houses. In summary: an inaccurate valuation, negligible effort, a complete lack of communication, and a devious fee structure designed to charge you even when they fail to perform.

Always professional, approachable and provided a first class service. It made the house sale process very easy and stress free. A big THANK YOU for all your help and support - Nick you were amazing always there to answer my questions and give independent advice when it was needed. I felt your attention to detail was fantastic. Conner and Rhianna were always friendly at the end of the phone when I needed to ask questions along the way. I only met Conner in person when I handed the keys in prior to the exchange. But was taken aback when he remembered a small detail about the house - that showed he cared and had a good attention for detail. It was a long process from our first meeting and completion; due to a delay in Probate being granted - but I can honestly say I felt you guys were always there to support me and keep me up to date with relevant developments. I defiantly chose the right team to sale my house and would recommend you in future.

It's been more than 6 years. They helped find a tenant (a small family), who are still there. They proactively sorted out issues whether they were related to local council, maintenance or services.
