I cannot recommend Charlotte Micallef, the Senior Branch Manager at Beresfords in Upminster, enough. Charlotte was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process of selling my house. She is incredibly trustworthy, honest, proactive, and dedicated—she truly did an outstanding job.
Initially, I was with another agent, but unfortunately, my house didn’t sell. Looking back, I wish I had gone with Charlotte from the start, as her expertise and determination made all the difference. She kept me informed every step of the way and went above and beyond to ensure I achieved the best possible result.

I rented a 2-bed, 2-bath property through this agency for two years, and the experience was extremely disappointing and stressful.
On the day we moved in, my fiancé and I reported multiple serious maintenance issues. One shower was pouring only boiling hot water. We were repeatedly told that they couldn’t fix both showers because parts were “out of stock”. This situation dragged on for months. The issue was only partially fixed after more than six months, and only by taking a part from the second shower - after countless emails and repeated visits to their office. The second shower wasn’t working at all and was finally fixed after more than a year.
For nearly £2,000 a month, it is absolutely insane that we were left having to wash ourselves using a pot because neither shower was usable. How can you advertise a property as 2 bathrooms when neither can be properly used for such a long time?
The dishwasher was completely broken. A replacement arrived after one year of renting, with no notice at all.
The washing machine/dryer was in an unacceptable condition: rusted, full of fungus, leaking, smelling terrible, constantly showing errors, and not drying clothes. Agency staff told us we could “simply clean it.” The issue was never fixed. We were often left without clean laundry, had to wash clothes by hand, and both developed skin rashes due to the fungus and dirt. This was absolutely unacceptable.
The kitchen sink was leaking, which we reported, but eventually had to fix ourselves. At the end of the tenancy, the agency tried to deduct money from our deposit for this sink. We had to provide the original inventory check to prove it was already an issue. Be very careful renting with this agency—they seem to rely on tenants forgetting reported maintenance problems over long tenancies.
They also provided only one entry fob for two tenants. When we requested a second one, we were told that “the landlord provided one fob and that’s enough for you.” We were not even informed where or how to obtain an additional fob. In the end, our neighbours had to order one for us.
They also attempted to deduct money for several other issues, until we proved that the condition was actually worse before we moved in. Only then did they suddenly change their position.
Overall: unprofessional, rude, and clearly only protecting the landlord. Tenants are customers too, but this agency does not act like it!!

I'm currently in the process of selling my house with Beresfords Upminster. Although I have accepted an offer on my house I have found, and continue to find, Beresfords to be unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. Had an offer not been made when it was, I'd of opted for a different sales agent. I'm unsure of naming names due to GDPR, but I found the sales agent to be rude and unresponsive. Following acceptance of offer, Beresfords assigned a "sales progressor" to oversee the final details... Despite forwarding numerous emails I'm yet to receive a response. Should this sale not complete I'll be dropping Beresfords immediately and going elsewhere. I do not recommend Beresfords.

Deeply unprofessional. My partner and I made our budget and ceiling very clear and were strong along to come to viewings and speak to their mortgage folks and then told the minimum acceptable amount is about half a million higher than we had made clear was our ceiling!! For this I took time out of my day to visit and then had several conversations with them.
What a bizarre and unprofessional way to waste people’s time just to drum up viewings.

I had a very disappointing experience with Beresford letting agency. Rob, the agent we worked with, wasted our time on several occasions. From the outset, it was clear that there was a lack of professionalism and organization.
**Key Issues:**
1. **Poor Communication:** Rob frequently missed appointments and failed to communicate changes in schedule, leaving us waiting without any updates.
2. **Inaccurate Information:** On multiple visits, the properties shown were not as described, leading to wasted time and frustration.
3. **Unprofessional Conduct:** There were instances where Rob seemed unprepared and disinterested in helping us find a suitable property.
Overall, I would not recommend them at all. The experience was frustrating and a significant waste of time. I hope they can improve their services and provide better training for their agents in the future.

Saw a property advertised through a third-party (Zoopla) with this estate agent branch & company. I made an enquiry when the advert was active and received no response at all; I provided all my accurate contact details and didn't get a call or email from them.

We’re currently stuck in a tenancy with a house that’s leaking, no heating, ceiling panels falling down, and a window that doesn’t close. We have been complaining about these issues for 6months. Beresfords do not care as long as you keep paying your rent. With minus degree temperatures and a damp house my husband and I are both sick . Beresfords will not do anything and leave you to chase the “property manager” who then contacts your landlord. But if your landlord doesn’t want to fix anything then sorry your out of luck. It’s been a truly miserable 6months and has caused so much stress.

Leasing team are wonderful up until the point you sign your contract, after which they redirect and become unresponsive.
The property management team has a tendency to take presumption from emails rather than read and understand what is happening which ends up with the issue of having a solution (which doesn't work for you) repeated back to you numerously, causing frustration as a tenant.
Check out process was awful. The company were happy to book in viewings at the property during covid while I was still residing there, however when I handed the keys in earlier they were unable to do the check out process sooner as due to covid they required 5 days space between tenant move out and check out. Extremely confusing.
