He went into great detail explaining the process and how it would proceed. Jess and Reo came out to view and get a feel of the properties lay out ready for possible buyers. I received weekly updates throughout after agreeing for Bairstow Eves help sell my property. They were both pleasant, friendly and professional in their duties and any advice or help I needed. My house sale was completed on 10th February 2026 and I have been very happy with all their help in the process. Great team. Thank you Kind regards, Paul

6th Feb 2026 (6 weeks ago)Phoned up to enquire on a property they had advised for sale met with a complete lack of interest from the staff member who was not only rude but dismissive, fortunately the house is advertised with another agent where we have been able to since view the property with no hassle! If you are thinking of selling or looking to buy completely avoid these bunch of clowns.

We had a positive experience with good communication from Poppy, India and Tiffany especially when there were delays at the top of the chain. They never made me feel like I was bothering them and I did call a lot.- 20th Feb 2026 (26 days ago)We had a fantastic experience working with Holly and Ella during the sale of our property. From the very beginning, they were professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable, guiding me through every stage of the process with confidence and clarity. Selling a home can be stressful, but their calm approach and regular updates made everything feel smooth and well organised. They provided excellent advice on pricing, marketing, and viewings, and were always quick to respond to any questions I had. What really stood out was their genuine commitment — I always felt they had my best interests at heart and were working hard behind the scenes to keep things moving forward. Thanks to Holly and Ella’s dedication and expertise, the whole experience was far more positive than I expected. 9th Mar 2026 (9 days ago)A speedy and professional job by Rod, Aaron and all the staff I dealt with Alexander Jacob. I'll try to keep this short; I had a small property for sale in Retford which had been rented for a while with another estate agent in town and I asked what they thought I could get on a sale and after an extensive discussion they suggested it be marketed at £80k and wouldn't budge on it. I was never going to accept this and a third party(thank you Shane!) suggested I speak with Rod, he told me £100k would be easily achievable and indicated a little work be done, which came to less than £1k and was arranged by AJ, and I sold for £110k. I'm not suggesting that this will be everyone's experience but Alexander Jacob clearly have a far, far better grip on how the local market is trending than some other estate agents in town.
18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

THEN CAME JMS ... ((WOW)) What a diamond find, excellent service, superb knowledge, wonderful personalities, tremendous communication skills and MOST IMPORTANTLY ...a WE can do approach. None of this you'll have to do that we have someone who can do that THEY JUST DID. 24th Feb 2026 (22 days ago)Awful estates agents. Emails get ignored, when repairs need doing. Only wanting to take the rent each month. Left me with a damp moldy ceiling for over a year. Was without heating in sub 0 temperatures. Avoid at all costs. If I could leave less than 1 star I would. When we lost 2 family members in 4 week Patrick said life goes on! He's a complete waste of space.
10th Mar 2026 (8 days ago)Initially we decided to use Leaders because of the enthusiasm of Lisa, who came out to do the appraisal. Once we had a buyer, the negotiation on price started. We advised Chloe of our minimum selling price, adding 'this is just between us'. Less than five minutes later, she came back to us, sounding pleased with herself and advising that the buyer would meet our minimum selling price. There didn't seem to have been much negotiation in those few short minutes. Maybe we should have made it clear that the minimum was just that; a minimum, not the price we wanted to sell at. Yvonne was our sales progressor and we were not impressed with her lack of contact. A couple of times we gave her information but got no reply to our emails. We were in contact with our solicitor regularly and Yvonne did chase information from the solicitor on one occasion that we had already been given by them. Overall, the sale went through very smoothly and quickly but we think that was more to do with our solicitor being very proactive and our contact and chasing of them. We have sold a number of properties over the years and Leaders sits somewhere in the middle of the agents we have used.
