6th Feb 2021 (5 years ago)The Covid pandemic has not made it easy to sell our beautiful 17th century cottage with having to make many challenging decisions along the way! However, with Harry Sheppard's expert help, this challenge was made much easier: always supportive at the other end of the phone, he encouraged us through a couple of fallen-through sales! Our 62 viewings were expertly managed by three of Knight Frank representatives, Patti, Philippa & Sara, with wonderful communications left at all times. At the end of 15 months, the team felt like part of our family! We highly recommend Knight Frank Oxford for their competitiveness, professionalism, friendliness and patience. Many, many thanks to you all!
23rd Jul 2025 (11 mo. ago)Philip May's genuine enthusiasm for the property we were selling, and his ability to sell Hodsons' services sold Hodsons to me as the estate agent to choose to sell a family home. The subsequent progress has been excellent, with a well-qualified buyer lined up within weeks. The only criticism I have is that a 'For Sale' sign was erected in the garden of the property which was unoccupied, and I had specifically asked for no sign.
1st Jun 2026 (5 weeks ago)We recently viewed a property in Southmoor which we really loved, fully aware it required a significant amount of work. We initially offered £378,000, and Graham contacted us to push £380,000, suggesting we increase our offer to secure the property. Reluctantly, we agreed as we didn’t want to lose it. Given the age of the property (1960s), we arranged a survey, which highlighted several issues. As a result, we submitted a revised offer to reflect the additional work required. Around the same time, we revisited the property and noticed that three fence panels were down, including one on our side. When I raised this with Graham, his response was dismissive, describing it as “only cosmetic,” which felt inappropriate given the rising cost of materials and repairs. Throughout the process, Graham’s attitude came across as dismissive and, at times, rude. Communication lacked professionalism, and we often felt our concerns were being minimised. We later received an email stating that the beneficiary’s husband, who is apparently a builder of 45 years, had dismissed the issues raised in the survey. This response felt unconstructive and contradictory, particularly as relatively minor issues like the fencing had not been addressed. Overall, the process raised multiple red flags, both in terms of communication and transparency. Unfortunately, our experience has been negative, and we would not feel confident dealing with this estate agent again and I would recommend other people to be aware of them.

Even when Paul was understandable distracted with unforeseen family matters, he remained in communication and showed great commitment and returned calls to make the entire process straightforward. Thank you Paul, we know it was a difficult time for you & family but you remained available and professional. The entire Paul Pieri Team did an excellent job. Thank you again. 7th Feb 2025 (1 year ago)After minimal success with our first Agent in selling our house, we chose to move to 'James Gesner Estate agents' due to their knowledge of Wallingford and the surrounding area and specifically one area. Having the team represent our sale, and then to find us a property in the area we were looking to move, I would comment that James and the team were exceptional. The data (marketing report) that they provide against the sales element was informative, the viewings that they conducted, were very professional and the correspondence was always relevant, and always available. James is very knowledgeable where it matters and worked tirelessly in supporting both the house sale and purchase, and I felt that he really went above and beyond in providing a great service and doesn't seem to switch off by providing updates whilst in Mexico. James Gesner Estate Agency will certainly be first on my list for any House sales/Letting.

12th Sep 2018 (7 years ago)Have rented premium properties >3K in North Oxford and the area for many years, using multiple agencies. This is one of the worst agencies in Oxford, only exceeded in their general incompetence by Finders Keepers.
15th Oct 2025 (8 mo. ago)People say that moving house is in the top 3 of most stressful things you can go through. Modern thinking has thankfully come up with methods to counteract and reduce stress in our lives. Deep breathing, yoga, music etc all help however for your home move the only thing you need is KATIE from Strutt Parker. Our journey started a few years back with a friendly and professional visit from the SP team. Despite being at the lower end of the market we were very impressed with the advice and services offered and despite a volatile market a buyer was found. Unfortunately due to bad survey we were forced to pull out of our purchase and subsequently our chain collapsed despite the best efforts from Katie. Despite the massive disappointment Katie was so supportive and understanding of the situation. There was no question of who we would call when we were ready to market again. 18 months later Katie was again amazing when we called and a pragmatic and honest conversation about the market was had and we were back on. Despite the market, we found ourselves with 3 offers within days and the advice and understanding of our views and thinking was evident in Katie when deciding which option to take. Katie managed the sale with professionalism and determination and got us through the process with speed, efficiency and understanding. We highly recommend Katie to manage your next house sale.

29th Oct 2025 (8 mo. ago)they lied and charged us for all the marketing material then never used it. we got ZERO enquirers or viewings for over 4 months- then found the online information was WRONG. stating the home is a decade older (i bought it NEW) and worth over £1 million LESS. they refuted to change it, then after we terminated the contract they refuse to rerun the photos we paid for. we spent thousands of pounds and hundreds of hours prepping the house for photos, and paid over £2,000 in total for them.

As a family-run business, Sophie and Lance provide a level of care and exceptional customer service that truly sets them apart. They are the perfect balance of professional and down-to-earth; they are incredibly knowledgeable yet always approachable. Sophie consistently went above and beyond the remit to ensure everything ran smoothly, and her responsiveness meant that no question or request was ever too much trouble. It was a pleasure to work with such a dedicated and reliable business.

We dealt with other estate agents in our buying process who left a lot to be desired to say the least and showed the vast gulf in class between local everyday operators and Eliza. Will be recommending her to anyone that asks!
