1st Jun 2026 (12 weeks ago)We recently viewed a property in Southmoor which we really loved, fully aware it required a significant amount of work. We initially offered £378,000, and Graham contacted us to push £380,000, suggesting we increase our offer to secure the property. Reluctantly, we agreed as we didn’t want to lose it. Given the age of the property (1960s), we arranged a survey, which highlighted several issues. As a result, we submitted a revised offer to reflect the additional work required. Around the same time, we revisited the property and noticed that three fence panels were down, including one on our side. When I raised this with Graham, his response was dismissive, describing it as “only cosmetic,” which felt inappropriate given the rising cost of materials and repairs. Throughout the process, Graham’s attitude came across as dismissive and, at times, rude. Communication lacked professionalism, and we often felt our concerns were being minimised. We later received an email stating that the beneficiary’s husband, who is apparently a builder of 45 years, had dismissed the issues raised in the survey. This response felt unconstructive and contradictory, particularly as relatively minor issues like the fencing had not been addressed. Overall, the process raised multiple red flags, both in terms of communication and transparency. Unfortunately, our experience has been negative, and we would not feel confident dealing with this estate agent again and I would recommend other people to be aware of them.

7th Feb 2025 (1 year ago)After minimal success with our first Agent in selling our house, we chose to move to 'James Gesner Estate agents' due to their knowledge of Wallingford and the surrounding area and specifically one area. Having the team represent our sale, and then to find us a property in the area we were looking to move, I would comment that James and the team were exceptional. The data (marketing report) that they provide against the sales element was informative, the viewings that they conducted, were very professional and the correspondence was always relevant, and always available. James is very knowledgeable where it matters and worked tirelessly in supporting both the house sale and purchase, and I felt that he really went above and beyond in providing a great service and doesn't seem to switch off by providing updates whilst in Mexico. James Gesner Estate Agency will certainly be first on my list for any House sales/Letting.
8th Aug 2026 (16 days ago)Very disappointing experience and serious concerns about transparency.<br>We applied to rent 1 Compton Manor while arranging an international move. We were accepted as tenants, paid a holding deposit, received a draft tenancy agreement and underwent referencing and credit checks.<br>We were then informed that the owner had agreed to sell the property and our tenancy would not proceed. We subsequently discovered that the property had been marketed for sale by Warmingham only 1 month before it was advertised to let.<br>We made a formal complaint because neither of us had understood that the property we were applying to rent was actively for sale. Warmingham later stated that their agent recalled verbally telling us this during the viewing. This is completely inconsistent with our recollection: we clearly remember being told that the neighbours property within the six-home development was vacant and for sale, not 1 Compton Manor.<br>After we disputed Warmingham's account in writing, we received no further response or final outcome to our formal complaint.<br>Had we known the property was actively for sale, it would have materially affected our decision to proceed with the deposit, referencing and credit checks.<br>Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Warmingham. We believe the property's dual sale/rental status should have been made absolutely clear before we were asked to commit to the rental process.<br>Prospective tenants are looking for stable homes and often have little room for uncertainty once they begin committing money, time and personal information to a property. In our view, allowing tenants to progress this far without making the risk of an ongoing sale unmistakably clear takes unfair advantage of that imbalance and falls well short of the transparency we would expect from a professional estate agent.

This is one of the worst agencies in Oxford, only exceeded in their general incompetence by Finders Keepers.- 28th Mar 2026 (21 weeks ago)My agent was organized and professional, made me comfortable from day one. I felt that when meeting with the various agents recommended by get agent, he arrived prepared with information about my house and a strategy. A good and patient communicator throughout what can be a tricky project. Everyone i spoke with at the agency was like this. It’s a good firm.

A number of viewings carried out speedily and feedback provided in a timely manner. All staff were friendly and approachable. Great teamwork apparent.

He quickly understood the property, set out a clear strategy, and impressed us with his honesty, flexibility, and ambition.<br><br>Communication was excellent throughout, with Luke always available to answer questions and offer guidance. Tiffany was also a pleasure to work with, helping with viewings and queries, while Mark provided great support whenever Luke was away.<br><br>We accepted an offer within days, and despite a few inevitable hurdles before completion, the process was smooth overall thanks to Luke and the team. The images to support my sale were some of the best I've ever seen, with additional video and drone images of the area. His narrative to describe my home was engaging not just a bland description of a room. He understood that you are not just selling a property but a lifestyle. I cannot rate him high enough.
