7th Jan 2026 (9 mo. ago)WARNING!! Richard murray acted as co executor having written my mothers will. He was not appointed by her but by her named executor. He sided and was partial to one group of beneficiaries over another. He chose the ones nearest the property of most help to him to side with, making his job easier. The family was fractured but he showed no ability to deal with this shutting down and refusing to engage with one side. Preferentially treating the other side. He went back on his legal advice reversing decisions that suited him. Including and implementing wishes he decided my mother made Verbally only to the one side of the family, the side he demonstrated favour with. When ‘wishes’ my mother had made to the other side were brought to him he dismissed them. Biased and unfair and cruel in his handling of the estate. Delaying the inheritance by permitting one beneficiary to live rent free in the property for some fourteen months post my mothers death. Not mentioned in the will, nor discussed. Between himself, his Company or my mother - but on the say so of the side he favoured! The implemented ‘say sos’ were decided without full disclosure or discussion or transparency and he was unaccountable in that He acted like a dictator refusing telephone calls , zoom meetings or email discussions. He dragged out a simple direct will into two years of hell, stress and unnecessary expense because he favoured and decided always in favour of one half of the beneficiaries over the other. Do not write a will with this Company. They have demonstrated they are incapable of writing one correctly , giving proper advice to my Mother , and incapable of implementing it as it’s written in any event. AVOID! It’s 2026 and there are still repercussions from Richard Murray @Connell&Connell’s mis writing and massive failures in executing our Mothers will. Save yourselves a whole lot of unprofessional and uncaring and biased,will handling and don’t use this man.

Delivery of the sale was absolutely on time, and Katie's liason with our buyers solicitor was exemplary.<br><br>I cannot recommend her and Ralph Sayer enough.

We felt they were on our side and did everything they could to make a house purchase stress free. Shout out to Scott and Fiona specifically. We have originally with different solicitors and had a bad experience. Glad we have swapped to Connor Malcolm. Top marks.

3rd Nov 2023 (2 years ago)(While the company did finally provide compensation, it's important to note that I still experienced a significant opportunity cost as a result of their actions.) It has undeniably been the most regrettable experience of my lifetime, dealing with a solicitor team that exhibited a severe lack of professionalism and courtesy. Initially, I placed my trust in them based on their positive Google reviews, which now appear to be misleading and have led to significant frustration and inconvenience on my part. The solicitor in question was Shari, who astonishingly took a full year to complete the anti-money laundering check, despite my having submitted all required documents promptly. To compound matters, she repeatedly requested the same information, leading to redundant submissions. Regrettably, she ceased all communication, failing to respond to both my emails and those from the seller's side. My attempts to reach her went unanswered for two months until she seemingly disappeared without a trace. I was dismayed to find myself in such a predicament. In desperation, I enlisted the assistance of the estate agent, who contacted Joni, the National Head of Conveyancing. However, this interaction proved to be equally disheartening, as Joni not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also declined to provide any insight into the unilateral breach of contract, responding in a profane manner. I strongly advise against engaging with this company. As a result of their inefficiency, my funds remained in limbo within my bank account, as I had initially believed they could promptly resolve their business matters. Consequently, I have incurred substantial financial losses due to the failure of Simpson & Marwick to deliver on their commitments.

Selling a property in Edinburgh remotely was a daunting prospect but the team at Neilsons made the whole process very straightforward. Kirsten handled the estate agency side, keeping me updated and Danielle sorted the legal side ensuring I completed the sale in a timely fashion. Both kept me updated throughout and smoothed out any wrinkles efficiently. Happy customer!

12th Oct 2026 (15 days ago)If I could give 0 stars I would.<br><br>Extremely disappointing service – would not recommend<br><br>I would not recommend Watermans based on our experience purchasing our new home. What should have been a straightforward process became unnecessarily stressful due to repeated delays, poor communication and a lack of organisation.<br><br>Our mortgage in principle was seemingly not dealt with for around 2–3 weeks, and we were then informed approximately two weeks before completion that Watermans was not on our mortgage lender’s panel. This should have been identified at the very beginning, rather than leaving us scrambling to find another solicitor at short notice and worrying about whether our transaction would go through on time.<br><br>Communication was another major issue. We experienced significant delays in receiving responses, and our selling solicitors at Warners were left chasing Watermans for information, with some matters reportedly outstanding for weeks. We should not have had to continually chase for updates when we were paying for a professional service to manage the legal process.<br><br>We were also disappointed with our experience dealing with Megan, whose manner we found rude and unpleasant, and with the lack of communication from Hannah, who left us waiting for responses for prolonged periods. To add to this, our name was spelt incorrectly on a Minute of Agreement we had paid for, which only added to our concerns about attention to detail.<br><br>Buying and selling a home is stressful enough without having to deal with avoidable delays, last-minute problems and constant uncertainty. Much of this could have been prevented with better communication, organisation and basic checks at the outset.<br><br>I genuinely feel the service we received fell well below the standard we expected. I would strongly encourage anyone considering using Watermans for a property transaction to think carefully about their options. We have raised our concerns formally and hope they take them seriously, investigate what went wrong
28th Sep 2026 (29 days ago)Me and my fiancée sold our flat with Revere. We initially picked a well known “premium” estate agent and had nothing but issues. It resulted in us looking for other options. We had heard good things about Revere and after talking to Craig we swapped over. Craig and his team sold our place within a month and we got a price we were very happy with. I cannot recommend Revere and especially, Craig enough. He went above and beyond for us and even helped negotiate offers when he was on holiday! We would not hesitate to use Revere again and if I could give more stars I would. Absolutely the best estate agents out there! 10/10

She helped me right through the whole process and answered ALL of my questions patiently. This is my first time being a landlord and I couldn’t have done it without her. From start to finish, the service was excellent, and a special thank you to Robert, who made what could have been a stressful process feel so much easier.<br><br>Robert was always friendly, professional and approachable. No question was ever too silly, and nothing was ever too much trouble. He was supportive throughout, kept me informed every step of the way, and genuinely cared about making the whole experience as smooth as possible.<br><br>What really stood out was the personal service. I never felt like just another client, and there was none of the pompous attitude you can sometimes encounter. 7th Sep 2026 (7 weeks ago)We were hoping for a quick sale but to not compromise on the value of the property in doing so.<br>REMAX and Carol in particular did not let us down. Everything was explained clearly from the start. Great advice was given in preparing the house for the market. Then Carol took on the viewings too, so we could head out and relax knowing it was in safe hands.<br>The property sold at a very fair price both for us as the vendors and for the couple and small family who will take up residence soon.<br>It was important for us that the home got a continued love and investment. After all we’d been in there for almost 20 years!<br>A fantastic experience working with REMAX Linlithgow and highly recommend them for both buying and selling your property.
