1st Aug 2026 (22 days ago)The team at Atwell Martin in Calne have done a superb job selling our Grade II listed property on The Green. The service offered by Ben and Stewart is friendly and helpful and they always replied promptly to our questions or concerns. They clearly have great local knowledge and vast experience with the property market especially around the town. We will wholeheartedly recommend them; we don’t doubt at all the work it took to get our sale. Thanks guys! D&Z ??????
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

He handled the sale of my house with a really high level of professionalism, I’d previously used a more traditional estate agent as I hadn’t come across EweMove, the contrast was night and day and Paul made the selling experience enjoyable.<br><br>Paul was knowledgeable, approachable and kept everything moving when it could easily have become stressful. I really appreciated his patience, communication and the way he conducted himself throughout the process.<br><br>A genuinely excellent estate agent and a real credit to the team. Thank you, Paul!

15th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Overpromised, Underperformed and Untrustworthy – My Costly Mistake with HSD I initially listed my property with PurpleBricks in March 2025 for £535,000. After limited viewings over a three-month period, I began exploring other options and submitted an enquiry to WeBuyAnyHouse. They quickly came back with an offer of £460,000—roughly 14% below asking—claiming it would allow for a quick sale. I immediately declined, as I was not in a rush and didn’t want to take such a significant loss. Shortly after, my details were apparently passed on to House Sales Direct (HSD), seemingly a sister company, without my explicit consent. HSD came across as professional and engaging at first. They promised a 98% success rate in selling properties within 28 days, citing a strong network of pre-approved buyers and investors who could complete within 6–8 weeks. They suggested a sale price spread of £510k–£535k, assuring me they would work to get me the best price possible. It sounded promising. Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with HSD. I withdrew my PurpleBricks listing—costing me £300—with the understanding that HSD’s investor network would accelerate the sale. But things quickly began to unravel. Despite supposedly having investors lined up, HSD said they needed to relist my property on Rightmove first. When I questioned why investors couldn’t simply view the home, the response was vague. It took nearly two weeks for them to relist, and the new asking price was £525,000. A full week passed without any communication. Then came a call recommending the price be dropped to £499,000. I was told this was “just a marketing tactic,” and that they still aimed to get me a sale within the original £510k–£535k range. But I struggled to understand how listing a property nearly £40,000 lower would achieve that. I asked again about the investors. They finally admitted the only offer received was the same £460k I'd declined weeks earlier through WeBuyAnyHouse. This was when the red flags really began to show. Why wasn’t I told this upfront? Why present an optimistic price range if their investor offer was fixed at £460k from the beginning? Why was I encouraged to pull the property from PurpleBricks if they intended to rely on the open market anyway? I could have just reduced the price there and avoided unnecessary costs and delays. Doing more research online, I found stories from others with eerily similar experiences. It appeared HSD’s real model was to attract sellers with high expectations and then drop the price, relying on open-market tactics to force a quick sale. Despite claiming not to charge commission, they would never clearly explain how they made their money. It seems they may be negotiating higher prices with buyers while offering sellers less—profiting off the gap. No transparency, no trust. Meanwhile, they knew I was paying a high mortgage on an empty property. It became clear they were hoping I’d become desperate enough to accept the same low £460k offer I had already rejected twice. In the four weeks my property was listed with them, only four viewings were arranged. Two were no-shows. Of the remaining two, one viewer stayed for just five minutes—asked no questions and didn’t even view all the rooms. It felt performative, not serious. As expected, neither viewer submitted an offer, despite supposedly being “pre-qualified and keen.” Eventually, I told HSD I wanted to withdraw the property. That’s when I was informed—shockingly—that I had unknowingly signed up for a 52-week contract, and I’d need to pay £1,500 to exit, or £999 if paid within 7 days. I wrote to them, acknowledged that they had done some work, and offered a reasonable £699 exit fee, explaining I needed to rent the home out due to financial strain. They refused and insisted on full payment. I paid the £999 immediately—but it still took a full week and several chasers before they finally removed the property from Rightmove. By the end of the ordeal, it was clear I was no longer a priority for them. In summary: Do I regret choosing HSD? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to someone looking for a fair, transparent, and professional house sale experience? No. If your only goal is to sell quickly and you don’t care about value, they might work for you. But if you want to sell your home at a decent price with a partner you can trust, I strongly advise staying away from HSD.

17th May 2026 (14 weeks ago)I used to be living in a nice apartment coachhouse, during the pandemic, I lost my job and could get the rent from the universal credit, so of course I was evicted. They problem was that I went through a mental health crisis at this time and suffering ever since. When I was away recovering in and out of hospital, I was told all my stuff was put into the garage below and I was being ILLEGALLY EVICTED, the stuff in the garage was their for a few months when me and my parents had to remove all my belongings into another garage I had rented next to and below the house. It remain their untill I could ship it up to their area, where it remained in storage for 4.5 years. I finally got through recovery and was able to deal with my belongings. Now bare in mind it was secure storage. I discovered around £600 pounds later including a broken tv on return to the flat with an eviction notice stuck to the door and the locks changed £100 worth of jewellery and £150 sporting clothes and a pair of designer glasses £150 missing ect with I realised after coming off medication that they had stolen from my property on that occasion of removing my goods during ILLEGAL EVICTION. I contacted the SCOUNDREL in charge of my property and got nothing but contempt. I will now give them 10 days to reply and start liaison with me or ill be filing a small claim to the courts, they now have 5 days left. If NICK JAMES CULLEY employees do this to paying customer or clients think what else they would do. Forget this as a good firm! If they evicted you during NATIONAL HEALTH CRISIS, when I begain a psychotic episode because of being made redundant, how far would they go really!!? JULIAN STOBBS WAS HIS NAME AND HE ADMITTS NO BLAME!

Booking a viewing was super easy, and he always responded to our queries quickly.<br><br>During the viewing we had a thorough walkthrough and were given plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed. At the offer stage communication was completely open and transparent, keeping us informed throughout.<br><br>To top it off, everyone in the office was incredibly friendly and welcoming when collecting the keys.<br><br>Would highly recommend James and the whole team!
14th Aug 2026 (9 days ago)Very upset!<br><br>My partner and I were due to view a flat in cricklade, the night before we received an email saying the viewing was still going ahead.<br><br>Barely 2 hours before our viewing my partner received an email saying “your viewing has been cancelled” no explanation at all. So my partner phoned up and was told the flat had been let. Even tho it wasn’t available to let until September.<br><br>May as-well have listed it as “first come first server” because by the looks of things, no one else gets a chance after one persons shown interest.<br><br>Didn’t even have a chance to view it or get close to looking into placing a holding deposit.<br><br>This was going to be our first ever rental. Disgraceful and unprofessional. Can safely say we’ll be looking at other letting agencies in the future.<br><br>Nice way to destroy a young couples hope at freedom.
19th Aug 2026 (4 days ago)From the start of this process, Chloe and Lauren showed high professionalism, and most importantly, a human touch. They projected a sense of wanting to succeed for us and they certainly did by selling our house twice. They showed an excellent market awareness which enabled us to maximise the value of our property which I don’t believe we would have achieved with another agent. Both our sales were achieved by viewings on a Sunday! They worked 8 days a week for us!
