8th Oct 2026 (19 days ago)I sold my house in Northenden with Reeds Rains (Didsbury) this Summer. David did the initial viewing and valuation. He came prepared and with reassuring enthusiasm. The pricing strategy was realistic and with a great marketing package, generated the initial interest we were hoping for. We arranged days of multiple viewings (reducing the number of times I had to get the house ‘sale ready’) and sold the house quickly. After our first buyer pulled out, the team were so supportive and quickly began the process again. Within days we had more offers to choose from and sold above asking price. I’m so grateful to David, Anna and the team - thank you!
14th Oct 2026 (13 days ago)It's hard to review a estate agency when you interact with various staff roles, and unfortunately the bad ones ruin it for the good ones. Our experience as buyers was fantastic with Nia Yates who showed us the property we ultimately bought. Nia was very professional and patient, went above and beyond to answer questions and follow up with the sellers when we requested additional details. She was knowledgable, friendly, and managed to secure a second viewing before we placed an offer. If you're a seller, thoroughly recommend you to ask for Nia as your sales negotiator, she's done a great job.<br><br>Unfortunately the good experience ended once we were assigned Jackie Stirling as our sales progressor. The quality of the communication was appalling. Various questions about the status of the chain, the length of it, details from the survey that needed to be passed to sellers, they went either unanswered, were answered late (which made planning very difficult), or were miscommunicated. This resulted in an unnecessary back and forth of emails and calls (that is if you can get through on the phone, good luck!), waste of time, and additional stress to an already complex process. At the most critical time, prior to the agreed completion date, Jackie was unreachable for over a week. Imagine your solicitors, EAs and yourselves unable to contact your sellers even to the day prior to exchange and completion. With our house packed, we had to pull back, which is when suddenly contact with Jackie was restored, but only to put the blame on others. Classic. Intrigued by this attitude, we searched online and found various negative reviews about Jackie and decided to follow the advice of slipping a note through our sellers door in a last ditch to rescue the chain. Coincidentally, our sellers got in touch and expressed their own frustration with Jackie. Once she was out of the picture, things started to run smoothly, faster, and coordinated more efficiently with other links in the chain for a new completion date (all other EAs were on the ball so that helped too). So if you're a seller, best to ask for someone else assigned to your case or risk losing your buyer. I'm sorry for the other people at Edward Mellor but we have to give you honest feedback or things won't improve as various reviews are clearly showing a pattern.
10th Nov 2025 (11 mo. ago)Avoid Hills Estate Agency at All Costs!! I have spent the past year being over-promised and massively under-delivered by Hills. The experience has been nothing short of a disaster. There has been a complete failure in communication from start to finish. I was repeatedly given “estimated completion dates” that never materialised, followed by weeks even over a month of no contact whatsoever. Because of their poor advice, I am now over £2,000 out of pocket. The unprofessionalism is staggering. Staff openly discussed the seller’s personal finances, telling me the seller “had no money” and describing them as “an absolute nightmare customer.” Imagine paying Hills thousands of pounds to sell your property, only for them to bad-mouth you to the buyer. Completely unacceptable. Given this behaviour, it’s no surprise there are so many negative reviews online. I submitted a formal complaint and received a response from Charlotte today no empathy, no apology. If this is how a director behaves, it’s clear why the rest of the staff follow suit. If you value your time, your money and your sanity, avoid Hills like the plague!! Useless!!

15th Oct 2026 (12 days ago)I visited the office to return my keys. While signing paperwork, I overheard three members of staff mocking a family who had just left. The family were not native English speakers and had complained that the property they were due to move into was too dirty to occupy as planned.<br><br>Hearing staff ridicule customers for raising concerns about the cleanliness of their new home was deeply unprofessional. As a white bystander, I also felt the mocking had a racial undertone. The incident left me with a very poor impression of how this agency treats its customers.<br><br>I would rate 0 stars if I could.

Buying a house can be incredibly stressful, especially with a long chain involved, but Julie was proactive, supportive, and always kept things moving. Her communication, persistence, and coordination made a huge difference and genuinely helped get the purchase over the line. The wider team were also professional, responsive, and helpful throughout the process. Thank you again to Julie and the team for all of your hard work. We really appreciate it and would highly recommend Gascoigne Halman.

Chris looked after us and gave a realistic and competitive valuation of our property and maintained contact throughout, with extremely swift and efficient actions. Additionally, Tai was in constant communication with us and worked relentlessly to ensure we had a happy and successful outcome. This was a big relief for us and took the pressure off as we always felt in good hands.

30th Jul 2026 (13 weeks ago)I cannot recommend Sue and the team at LRG/Leaders highly enough.<br><br>My purchase wasn’t straightforward, with delays outside anyone’s control, but throughout the entire process Sue kept me updated, responded promptly to my emails, and was always reassuring, kind, professional and incredibly patient.<br><br>Communication was excellent from start to finish, and I always felt informed about what was happening.<br><br>Massive thanks to Sue and the team for all of your hard work in helping me purchase my first home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the team to anyone buying or selling a property.

29th Sep 2026 (28 days ago)I honestly don’t know where to start with this agency. Every part of my experience with them was frustrating, disorganised, and unnecessarily stressful.<br><br>From day one, communication was a constant battle. Half the time it felt like our emails were being ignored, and when someone did reply, the tone was cold and rude as if asking for basic information was somehow an inconvenience.<br><br>I was involved in a tenant swap process to replace one of the people in a two-person joint tenancy agreement, that was my first ever interaction with this agency and the whole process was a complete mess. Instead of guiding me through it, they left me chasing them for every tiny detail. They couldn’t even coordinate dates properly with the other tenant, which ended up forcing me to change my move-in date. All of this could have been avoided with the slightest bit of organisation.<br><br>But the worst part was the deposit. Enormous headache. They came back with a list of claims that didn’t match reality at all things that were never missing, “issues” that simply didn’t exist, and charges for items worth next to nothing at hugely inflated prices. They even tried to blame us for damage that had already been recorded in the inventory before we moved in. When we pushed back, communication suddenly slowed to a crawl or stopped altogether, almost as if they were hoping we’d just give up.<br><br>We ended up taking it to the mediator to resolve the situation, paying them nothing in the end, which honestly says everything about how unfair their claims were.<br><br>Overall, a big thumbs down from me. Dealing with this agency was exhausting. Disorganised, unhelpful, rude communication, and a deposit process that felt like they were trying to squeeze money out of us for things we weren’t responsible for. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before renting through them.
