I arranged a viewing for the second of September and was asked to provide 3 months of bank statements and payslips, which I did straight away. The agent then asked me to pay a deposit, which I also paid. I was told I’d hear back once the landlord confirmed. Days passed with no updates. When I chased, the agent claimed he had emailed me, but no email ever arrived (even though I had received all his previous emails without issue). After further follow-ups, he admitted he may have sent it to the wrong person. Eventually, I was told there were “issues with the landlord” because the previous tenant hadn’t ended their contract and wanted to move back in. The only response offered was to refund my deposit no apology, no accountability, no alternative property. I got my money back, but the complete lack of professionalism and communication wasted 15 days of my time. Terry, if you are reading this, please understand how unacceptable this experience was. I lived in a property managed by SW Residential for a year while studying in London with my friends, and although I couldn't renew the lease due to personal reasons, I can say with absolute confidence that this is the best agency I've ever worked with — especially thanks to Christian. I'm not exaggerating when I say he is the best agent in the world. Before we even moved in, Christian kindly helped us carry all our luggage up to the attic on the third floor. Since none of us were in London during the summer holidays, he also made sure all our belongings were placed inside the flat as soon as the tenancy started. Throughout the year, he was always incredibly helpful and responsive. No matter what we needed, he was quick to reply and happy to assist. He’s also just a genuinely kind and understanding person — always willing to help mediate and maintain good neighborly relationships. The moving-out process was also smooth and stress-free — thanks to Christian again. If I didn’t need to move into a studio next year, I would absolutely choose SW Residential again. Positives: friendly, efficient, reasonable fee, communication during the process was clear and helpful. Negative: I felt a bit pestered after my initial enquiry, with almost weekly enquiries as to whether I was going to progress with the sale. I still instructed them though due to their local link. 'Nick and I have done a number of deals together over the years in NW1/W1/Marylebone/Mayfair, in particular where I have valued properties for clients and informed Nick, after which he would immediately bring a client, before the property is advertised on the open market, who would transact on the property as Nick knew it was exactly what his client was looking for. Quality properties in sought after addresses priced correctly are very hard to come by. Sometimes deals have been complicated and Nick has overcome the obstacles and successfully pushed the deals through for his clients.
