I had a great experience with Eliza. From the very beginning, she was extremely helpful and proactive. She went the extra mile by offering a free mortgage assessment with her colleague Alicia, which showed her commitment to providing a complete service.
Straight after my initial appointment, Eliza arranged a viewing for the first property which she knew every detail, from council tax band and service charges to parking and lease terms. We then viewed a second property, and again she knew every detail inside out.
A couple of days later, Eliza followed up with a call to check how I felt about the viewings. When I mentioned I wasn’t keen on the properties, she quickly sourced another option and arranged a viewing and once again, demonstrated her thorough understanding of the property. Throughout the process, Eliza kept in touch regularly, sending me options and following up without ever making me feel pressured.
Although I eventually found my new home through another agency, Eliza truly deserves a good review for her dedication, knowledge, and excellent customer service. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a property.

I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with Connells. Since moving into our property, we’ve encountered several unresolved issues, and despite multiple attempts to reach out, the agency has been unresponsive.
There’s a fridge left in both the garden and garage from before we moved in, and a broken garage door that makes the garage unusable. Recently, the boiler stopped working after a gas engineer was sent out, leaving us with no heating or hot water. Despite multiple emails requesting updates and resolutions, we have yet to receive any response from the agency.
I am now left with no choice but to escalate this to The Property Ombudsman. I wouldn’t recommend this agency due to their lack of communication and disregard for tenant issues. If you’re considering renting with them, be cautious – I would expect better support and follow-up from a professional letting agency.

Avoid using this agency to buy or sell or even rent properties. The real estate agents are so unprofessional and irresponsive. I offered a house and they issued a MOS with wrong seller’s solicitors on it. Then took them 6 weeks to issue another one.
When you ever ask them the progress and they will tell you to ask your solicitor and obvious they only want the commission but not the works.
A property with no chain can take you more than 6 months to get to enquiry stage.
AVOID them in any occasions.

Connells in Basingstoke (south) have an agent called Kai Mears who is the most arrogant and rude individual I have ever spoken to. Trying to put in an offer for a first floor apartment in Winterthur Way, Basingstoke. We were trying to offer the asking price … sellers beware! This agent was so rude to us we won’t be purchasing any properties through them.
I would warn any prospective sellers to steer clear of Connells Estate Agents. Very poor service, Kai in particular is unprofessional and certainly not an asset to the company.

Despite choosing to seel our house with them due to their familiarity, we encountered poor communication and unprofessionalism throughout the process. From inaccurate advice provided by their mortgage advisor which led to delays and unnecessary stress and wasting money on our part, to feeling pressured to accept offers from investors, it became clear that our interests as clients were not prioritised. Despite assurances, the agency failed to address our concerns effectively, leaving us with a lack of confidence in their reliability and credibility. Overall, if you want to have a stress free, professional sale DO NOT choose Connells to present your home to the market!

One star because we can't rate at zero. Disgusting Estate Agents and please avoid at all costs. As the sellers of a property, Connells (in particular Michael Howley, Adrian Allen and Graham Archer) did not have our interests at heart at all, only their own. The worst thing about the experience was the bullying and they took no responsibility for their many errors and failings. We were locked in for an excessive amount of time (6 months) and high rate of commission which was based on the valuation of the house and not the selling price.
Once the house was sold stc the problems mounted with poor communication and further bullying. They seemed to be only on the side of the buyer, disregarding our view points and requirements.
With the sale falling through and the end of our 6 month contract we were pleased to leave Connells. We have now gone to another Estate Agent who have been brilliant and we are back sold stc.

Very needy to buying properties. We only moved in 4 yrs ago. We love where we live and the valuation for property was not done nicely and upsetting by the lack of knowledge an agent had. I would recommend other companies as the lack of communication we had was terrible and booking appointments when we declined yet booking one without consent. Connells have been really helpful and very accommodating to my partner and I. I don't know if I'm allowed to mention names, but in particular Natalia and Luke were extremely supportive the whole time we were with them. I'll let you know, we were quite a handful as customer, but they were patient with us, helped us resolve our initial issues with our tenancy, and then helped us move in to a new flat. All I can say is that we are more than happy to stick with Connells, as they have always moved mountains to make sure that we were as comfortable as possible. I honestly can't fault them at all.

I live in Australia so selling our property was always going to feel more challenging than if I had been in the UK.
When things became stressful I reached out to Connells for help. Mae stepped in and regularly assisted with chasing up on communication with the solicitors alongside keeping the buyers informed.
Mae was amazing. She made what was an already stressful time feel so much easier because she was always on top of things and following up on my behalf, when I couldn't, which considering the time zone was always going to be immensely challenging.
Selling a property always is stressful and has challenges, however without Mae it would have felt more so. Mae was always so pleasant to deal with and in my humble opinion a real asset to Connells.

We have recently instructed Connells to support with the sale of our property and also the purchasing of our next property. From the very start the attention to customer service and detail was to be commended. Mike Howley visited our home we were selling and absolutely took on board the sensitivities of the situation at the time due to family circumstances. Mike was reassuring and realistic from the start offering an efficient, trustworthy and honest service. We had received previous valuations on the property but did not feel that these were realistic or an approach to selling that we as a family were comfortable with at the time given our circumstances.
After listing the property on the market Mike went out of his way to ensure that we had a team that we trusted. Regular contact which was friendly, understanding and professional from May and Gary ensured that we not only were up to date with how things were progressing but also provided confidence in us as customers. Furthermore Mike was able to link in the wishes for the property we wished to buy and identify a property that is 'the one' making the whole process as smooth as possible.

- NEVER answer their phones... had to make multiple journeys into the office just to get a response
- organised viewings with me and nobody turned up or even let me know the viewing was cancelled

- took MONTHS to return my deposit, 100+ calls, multiple visits and kept changing the date in which I would receive my money

Vix has kept us closely informed, from the moment the last tenants vacated our property and right through the process of the new tenancy. Even from lockdown, where he explained what would be happening, to when they returned to work and how that would be managed.

We were trying to sell our house with Connells last year but we were not happy with services.
Our selling price was set up too high but this was partly our fault as we were happy with high value and accepted.
We had to pay (around £150) for the photos but has been told we would get them back if there is no sell. When our 6 weeks contract finished we have been told we will not get the pictures back. We did not get feedback on all viewings and when I actually went to agency to ask I been told I should be happy to have viewings

We have just exchanged on our purchase (completing next week). After a failed purchase with another agent we were apprehensive about going in again, particularly as we are first time buyers.
Initially, we dealt with Martin Bessell (who booked in our viewing), and Adrian (who communicated and negotiated our offer). Both have been first class, and it has been Martin that has progressed our transaction with frankly what I can only describe as an impeccable service.
Martin showed us around the property initially, and unlike other agents we'd dealt with, gave us loads of time to look in detail and answered all of our questions, and most importantly didn't push for the hard sell. Post offer/acceptance, we booked a few more viewings throughout the process to measure and explore the property more, and Martin once again gave us plenty of time despite us viewing late in the day. Martin's never failed to answer any of our questions, and the fact he goes about his work in a pleasant manner made the process even better, and we always had confidence in his ability and care to move things along. One other important thing to note for any potential buyer reading this is that every time we called Martin, he took the call (unless of course he was out of the office or on another call). This may seem like a silly detail but we've dealt with a lot of estate agents recently that were hard to get in touch with. Every time we called, we got our answers along with really good advice.
Pushing towards our exchange Martin has been fantastic in relentlessly chasing and communicating with all lawyers involved. We've been calling him multiple times every day for updates and he has greeted and helped us with the same cheery manner as always, even when some of our questions may not have been best directed to him.
Martin is dealing with our completion next week and has already sent a congratulatory e-mail to us. We are thoroughly looking forward to moving into our new property and should we be looking to ever buy again (or sell), Connells will be the first agent I go back to, particularly if Martin is still working there! Everything he has assisted us with has gone smoothly and we couldn't be more delighted with how he has treated and helped us.

I recently bought my first property through a different agent but decided to use Gregg L, the mortgage advisor based in Connells Basingstoke off the back of a recommendation.
As a first time buyer, I was completely new to the process. From the first appointment with Gregg I felt at complete ease. He explained in detail the process from start to finish, took time to revisit parts I was unsure on and gave clarity on what the next steps would be.
I felt confident of not only what his role was, but what the solicitors would be doing for me, leaving no stone unturned. He found a mortgage suitable for my specific situation and the house I was buying and proceeded with the mortgage application.
A week after the mortgage was applied for, I had my mortgage offer confirmed. I was then moving into my new house about 4 weeks after this with the help of solicitors. Judging by experiences of others I’ve heard of, this seemed a really quick, smooth and easy process and I can’t thank Gregg enough for making it as stress free as possible (for buying a house!).

This is in particular relation to Spinnaker House Chineham, Basingstoke.
Last Year in early November, my wife and I decided to buy our first property, we saw on the Connells website Spinnaker House advertising modern apartments. We made an appointment with one of your representatives who showed us around. We liked the property and we decide to go ahead with it. The next step was to see mortgage advisor (I am Polish and I have not had any experience in buying property so we relied on Connells to guide us).
We had our first meeting with Gregg Lewis your mortgage advisor who explained everything and clearly stating that we will not have any problems in getting mortgage through the Help to Buy (we have got email evidence confirming this). We paid £699 his fees, £500 reservation fee.
Gregg then advised us to start the ball rolling with solicitous before applying for the mortgage as he said that the mortgage was only formality. AIP has already been approved. I trusted his opinion and I thought that is what we need to do in the UK.
As a result, we paid £425 to solicitors also recommended by Gregg.
Few weeks later just after Christmas we found out that unfortunately we will not able to get mortgage through Santander or through any lender because no lenders were willing to lend against the property (converted from offices and also it is being to close to the rail track)? I contacted Gregg (again I have got evidence) and he stated that he did not know that there will be a problem and it is not his fault? He said that he is willing to give £699 pounds back and £500 reservation fee back but not solicitor’s fees.
The solicitors had started searches and charged us £385 pounds at that point. We have received cheque £45 pounds from them.
I can see on your website that you still advertise the Spinnaker House on your website as Help to Buy 08.02.2019 and for FIRST TIME BUYERS? which I believe to be misleading people like me. We were left alone we lost £385 pounds.

After that because at moment we not have prof of income because until november 2017 we own a restaurant where we live in Kingston.
But we close and we want move to basingstoke to find new restaurant.
When the reference coming they said are ok because aswell the landlord give good reference.
They ask us deposit of £1350 plus agency fee plus 6 months rent in advance anytime.
We said is too much 6 months we offer for 3 instead.
They accept.the landlord aswell they send us precontract where was write moving in date 28th february 2018 and to pay the rest of the money of £ 4235 on the 26th befruary. For the total of £ 4735.
And we have to sign the contract on 28th february and take the key for moving in.
On the 26th february we make the payment of £ 4235 but just on the 27th february at 4.12pm connells agency in basingstoke send us one email where they said the landlord not want rent to us anymore.no one call just email!
Unfortunately dosn t work like this we are uman not animals .we organise moving for the 1st march with company we pay storage we packet everything we moving child to school we give notice everywhere.
We lose power time and money .
The connells said 3 to 5 working days for refund me money. Till now w didn t receive back money.
They give us the baddest service they can give to us. just said apologise
Now we have aswell problem with current landlord were we live because him rent already the flat and we have to leave on th 2nd march 2018 but we not have place to go and we have 3 daughters of 8years 6years and 2 months old!

Shameful service, tried to view a house and all they wanted to do was value mine and get me a solicitor. Tried to put in an offer on the property after 5 days of chasing for a viewing, 6 hours later I had to get the manager to ring me as the staff did not have the courtesy to ring or email me back to acknowledge my offer. All they are bloody interested in is getting you to sell through them and use their mortgage advisors, with the promise of £1,000 cash back.
Offer accepted last week, letter confirms this, now had a voicemail today confirming the house was sold to someone else now....Good news is that I have found a house with competent estate agents and they took the house off the market as promised, not keep advertising like these cowboys....

Very, very, very poor service. I was buying a property and I had some questions for the vendor so I asked Robert to contact the vendors, never got an answer to my questions because he never calls back. Eventually, I had to write to the vendor directly to get the answers.
Then the chain had problems. I tried calling Connells to help resolve the problem. I was always told "Someone will call you back" but no one ever does. After my conveyancer complained to them another manager Mike called me and said he would take charge of the problem. Again, he never came back to me after leaving messages. I never had a single call back in 3 months of leaving message!!!

Going by these reviews I was very weary about using Connells to let my property out, but I thought I'd give them a chance as I am a strong believer in word of mouth (they were recommended to me via a friend) and what an absolute pleasure It was to work with their team, they were very efficient and kept me updated through out the whole process!! Been told My mum will have to pay the whole deposit on the day of moving into property Shes renting of them , the day before moving in I received a call at 4:30pm from Christi and been told all the money needs to be in the account today by 5pm other wise my mum loses the house , I told her I been told that she's got to pay the day when she's moving in and she's got it all in cash which is at home in Basingstoke and my mum is working till 5pm , no way to get hold of her till she finishes, I'm in reading so won't make it back in half an hour to get the money and also get to the bank, she told me I could be doing something that could help right now rather than arguing !!! Luckily my mum finished earlier and got a taxi home to get the money and to the bank . (Also had to over pay for some reason and been told I will get my refund in 3-4days.) Now the next day , when my mum was supposed to move in , we went to the agency to see when is he can get the keys , Tom told us couple hours . Couple hours later when I rang them they were still waiting for some references , been saying this all day till 6pm, told us she will definitely move in that day, ended up telling us they shut and they can't do anything anymore . The next day , we've finally got the keys moved in, now waiting for my refund . It's been 16days , and all these 16days they kept telling me that the money had been refunded but just probably didn't get into my account yet. Now after me ringing them everyday and just getting to leave a message to someone I need to speak to , never getting a call back as promised , I received an email from Christi saying I'm entitled £100 less that what I been told from the beginning !!!! After she was the one saying my money has already been sent to me , after 16days she's telling me I'm only entitled to £30!!! So in on my way to police station with all the signed papers . Horrible , rude (CHRISTI) and irresponsible agency! Never never again ! I suggest everyone to stay away from this agency if the don't want to get robbed and hear lies a only . Terrible !
