It was quite by chance that i went in to Stirling Ackroyd in Twickenham, having arrived in the UK from France only one week before my visit. WELL, i was greeted by the adorable Ruby Franklin who turned out to be not only adorable, but knowledgeable efficient, caring (I am a very old lady) and she found me a fabulous flat JUST where i wanted it. I moved in today, in the rain, but i popped in to see Ruby and she lent me an umbrella ! I am so grateful for all her help and i can highly recommend Ruby and Stirling Ackroyd for your property needs.

Ruby Franklin the lettings agent at Stirling Ackroyd changed my life 100% for the better in July 2025. I am saying this because I want to ADD to my previous review where I know I sang Ruby's praises. I had to leave France where I had lived for 20 years. I now live absolutely in the middle of Twickenham in Sovereign House. It's exactly where I wanted to be as I am 81 on Christmas Day so I wanted to be in the middle of everything I would need. I love my flat. I love my surroundings. This happiness is all due to Ruby helping me in July to find my new home - I was clearly in the right place at the right time with the best lettings expert on the planet, i.e. Ruby Franklin. We've just bought our first property through Stirling Ackroyd, and while the process was very stressful and drawn out, I cannot fault Morgan and Rodney's service. From Morgan initially helping us find the property, which was slightly out of our price filters and being very informative and enthusiastic about the property. They were also very helpful in the offering process.
We should've had a simple purchase but had a range of issues with solicitors that in the end Stirling Ackroyd did help us resolve by recommending Taylor Rose who provided great service themselves.
The only issue we had with Stirling Ackroyd was from the Sales Progression team and Maxine, who was uncontactable at times, which made the issue with solicitors even harder. She seemed very over-worked with too high of a caseload to sufficiently do her job, meaning Rodney & Morgan had to take over which they did far more efficiently than Maxine was able too - so maybe some more staff in Sales Progression would be helpful!
Overall, I would recommend using Stirling Ackroyd as a result of the consistently great service from Rodney & Morgan who went above and beyond to get this sale complete even when things were very stressful.

We sold a property through Stirling Ackroyd Twickenham branch. Rodney and Morgan wasted no time in arranging multiple showings and the property was 'sale agreed' in less than 10 days. Unfortunately our buyers found a solicitor/conveyancing company online which was nowhere near our property or where they lived. There was NO chain, the buyers were first time buyers and we were not purchasing another property, very straightforward or so we thought. Our solicitors were in Teddington and did everything possible to move the sale along from our end. Stirling Ackroyd had someone progressing the sale between both solicitors and buyer and seller. Unfortunately HS Legal in Colchester, were impossible to deal with. They would not speak to our solicitors and refused to take calls or respond to emails. When there was no progress after more than 4 months we advised the estate agents we were walking away due to lack of progress by the buyers solicitor. The buyers were still anxious to buy the property. Sterling Ackroyd arranged another solicitor. Unfortunately the person acting for them in the new solicitors, Taylor Rose was a nightmare but Rodney and Morgan in Sterling Ackroyd went above and beyond their remit to ensure the sale got to completion. So, after more than 6 months we Competed on 5th of August. It would never have happened if it were not for the Sterling Ackroyd team in Twickenham. The legal profession were the cause of all our issues NOT the estate agents. Thank you Rodney and Morgan.

Always dealt with the landlord’s son, who’s perfectly nice. However, I couldn’t have picked a worse estate agent.
At no point was I told that the address is quite difficult for any post (except Royal Mail) as it’s on top of shops and there’s a back entrance.
There was 3 months to go till the end of tenancy but they started viewings already - this is very early. I get that they want to ensure someone else signs the property before we leave but it’s also 3 months of viewings. The viewings weren’t great either - as mentioned, the address is difficult to find so people would often get lost. David also consistently went over the time he said - my partner and I work full time and sometimes from home. I’m a recruiter, so I booked calls around the given time slots, to accommodate the viewings but David still showed up outside allocated time. I said I’m on a call, but instead of an apology and ‘We’ll come back later’, he pressured to do the viewing. There seems to be no regard for the person who’s actually living in the property.
Partner and I decided to move out early and communicated this with the landlord’s son, who said it’s fine. There was a lot of back and forth with David, who clearly hadn’t been speaking to the landlord or the landlord’s son - I know this because I was getting different information from David and the Landlord’s son. The branch manager never responds - requires a phone call for anything (that’s if she’s there and able to take the call).
The end of tenancy team isn’t great either - I don’t seem to get a response until I CC the Executive Lettings Director and he pushes them. It’s been almost a month and I still haven’t received my deposit, shortfall, and overpaid rent. However, if something is owed to them, they seem to jump on it very quickly and will have 0 patience.
Wouldn’t recommend whatsoever and wouldn’t use in the future. Would give a lower rating if I could.

I am very upset and disappointed with the treatment that I have had from Townends Estate agents in Twickenham. I recently had an offer accepted on a house and was very happy with the work that Morgan did to help me get my offer accepted. This was a first house for me and I am on a very tight budget.
I went ahead getting the searches and survey done quickly so that purchase could move forward and once the contracts arrived found out that the property was misrepresented and I hadn't had all the information provided to me.
It was being sold as Freehold and was found to be otherwise once the contracts came in. It also had a management company and fee which would effect my budget.
At this point I had spent £1000 of my deposit and due to the freehold information, I was legally advised not to proceed. I had to make the difficult decision to pull out.
Claire at Townends treated me with contempt despite it being potentially their fault that this information had been incorrect in the first place. I was made to feel like I was the villain for pulling out.
I asked to have the opportunity to sell my searches and survey onto the next buyer and was told that this would be possible and she would let me know. I followed up 2 weeks later having heard nothing and found that the new buyer had already applied for their own searches and had had their own survey done.
Townends had a copy of my survey sent to them from the surveyor when it was completed ( I have since found out that the company I was advised to use is actually part of Townends), so for all I know they sold that one on directly.
This whole experience has been extremely stressful as I now have to move out of my current flat (I gave notice once my offer was accepted). I am down a large amount of money and I have had very little in the way of apology from the team at Townends. I will not be using Townends in the future and I definitely don't recommend Townends or Claire Comerford.

Guy Bennett didn't try and lie to us about the state of the market there was a slight dip in prices that was noticeable from us looking. He gave us a price where he thought our flat would go for and sure enough they had a great buyer lined up already to walk through our door. Within less than a week we received an offer that was for the full asking price. Throughout the conveyancing process unfortunately the after sales team weren't quite up to the high standards set by Guy but this review is of the Twickenham branch and so Guy and his team deserve 5 stars. Would definitely get Townends in again to quote to sell us whereas i wouldnt bother with the other spammers.

Can’t praise enough Morgan Senior; excellent customer care and professionalism shown towards our landlady (seller) and us (tenants). Never seen a more dedicated sales agent (and have come across a few), who takes very seriously his duty towards the landlady but always accommodating them to our availability and possibilities. Very knowledgeable and helpful! I do recommend him. Made us feel and as an important part of the “business” and looked after us the same way.

The man showing us around the property turned up half an hour late with no acknowledgement or apology. The staff who dealt with our tenancy were very attentive and responsive to emails, but the fees they charge are massive, and I guess as you would expect of any lettings agency, they are there to benefit the landlord, not the tenant. Our landlord together with Townends made a significant last minute change to our contract on our moving day which we had no choice but to accept. When we pointed this out, they got very defensive about how great their customer service was!

Rented property through Townends, was charged fees on top of fees to move in, charged again when we moved out for more 'admin' and reference fees. Salesmen were friendly at first, then sleazy once we'd signed the contract and moved in. Would never rent through this company again.

We had our house valued by 3 local estate agents. Richard Evans viewed the property and listened carefully to our instructions. His valuation was the most realistic and he started the process with an open day. This gave us a potential buyer who offered a good price. The progression team liaised with other estate agents and solicitors in the chain. Damien gave us a weekly update until things were finalised. The staff at Twickenham were always happy to help with queries and communication was good. Would recommend!

In an interesting market, Townsend did an outstanding job with a demanding customer!!! They were given strict instructions not to waste time with ghost viewings and viewings with people that can't afford the house as such every viewing was a potential buyer. Once the sale was made we were handed over to their progression team who were always available and liaised successfully with 5 other estate agents and solicitors. With a long chain we managed to exchange within 3 months and complete in 4. Thank you
