17th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.
5th Apr 2026 (5 weeks ago)Came over to Batcheller Monkhouse on Saturday late morning around mid day as had an unusual day off to see someone about selling our cottage and was pretty disappointed no one there but your website says 9-1 no sign of anyone despite calling the number on website too so gave up and went elsewhere that was open. Matt.

The team at Sims Williams were all up to date with what was going on with the sale and were reassuring, reliable and informative. I was so impressed with Emma who went 'above and beyond, and I can't thank her enough for this, but also huge thanks to Tamsin, Lynne and Hebe all of who gave a fantastic service. This is the third time I've used Sims Williams and I would wholeheartedly recommend them. Thank you all.

15th Aug 2024 (1 year ago)They posted the house and for the 12 weeks we had the house with them we didn’t hear anything back from them, except when we contacted them. We had no weekly updates or advice from them as to why we only had 1 viewing in the 12 weeks.

Gail McLean has always been our contact there, and she is wonderful; approachable, knowledgeable and professional. 22nd Apr 2026 (17 days ago)Farndells have been brilliant. John Farndell is very direct and honest, which really works for me—though it might not suit everyone. That said, having a realistic and straightforward view is far more helpful in the long run. You may not always like what he says, but it’s factual and truthful. You can choose to ignore the advice, but if you genuinely want to sell, it’s worth listening and taking it on board. I’d definitely recommend using them.

They are an exceptionally diligent & knowledgeable team, who were proactive throughout & always followed up on enquiries. Special mention for Jack, who is a wonderful asset to the company & whose patience, knowledge & understanding proved to be critical in ensuring a successful sale.

So helpful with giving us recommendations for contractors and arranging access so we could get the long list of surveys done for the lender. Paul has been a great bridge between us and the seller, making sure we were kept up to date through the process, as well as working closely with our agent and solicitor to ensure a smooth sale through the chain. It has been a pleasure working with Paul through the process and I would highly recommend Fowlers.
