17th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.

In a tough market, our estate agent, Nick was persistent and ensured we had people through the door for viewings. He was professional, courteous, and kept us well informed throughout the process. I would highly recommend both him and Savills to anybody thinking of selling their house.
15th Oct 2026 (12 days ago)Despite having our lovely mid-Devon country property on the market at a difficult time, in terms of over-supply and wide ranging financial concerns, Tom Folland, a Director at Strutt and Parker, has done a brilliant job for us dealing with a difficult and protracted sale, including a sometimes unstable chain. It has been so good to have an agent who has communicated with us all the way through the process, keeping us in the loop with everything we needed to know about. Tom has stayed calm and professional even when the process was driving us a little crazy because it felt so precarious and uncertain. Tom has been patient, kind and considerate, and we couldn’t recommend Strutt and Parker more highly for achieving a good sale - a terrific result especially in such a slow and uncertain market.
17th Oct 2026 (10 days ago)Shannon Lethaby, at Webers, dealt with the sale of my property. Like much of the country there has been a downturn in the housing market in North Devon. As such it took a while to sell my house, but Shannon was determined and made sure she got the right buyers through the door. The sale process itself turned out to be unbelievably complicated due to a solicitor in the chain, however Shannon's communication, and constant updates helped keep the process moving, especially at a point where other estate agents in the chain had seemingly lost interest. I would highly recommend Shannon and Webers to people buying or selling in the area.

1st Oct 2026 (26 days ago)I had a complicated move from Christchurch to Braunton this summer, having to pull out of 2 properties and finally settling on a third when there was very little on the market, being homeless for 3 months whilst waiting for solicitors to complete their tasks. It was difficult, but throughout that time I could always rely on the friendly voices at Phillip Smith and Dunn in Braunton. Both Vincent Brock and Cleeve Pugsley were so helpful, always full of understanding and advice. No request was too demanding and no problem was ever too difficult. I can wholeheartedly recommend them, not only for their expertise and professionalism, but for their understanding and patience during the most difficult of times.

11th Aug 2025 (1 year ago)Unlike other estate agents that we tried, EweMove are without a doubt the best estate agents around with their proffessionalism, knowledge, network, skills, dedication and enthusiasm. They were encouraging and caring during the many viewings, then once an offer was accepted they kept us constantly updated on the sale progression within the chain, which at times was more than our own solicitors managed to do.... As people now have more choice on both types of properties, locations and values, its becoming harder to sell properties, especially the larger and more costly properties, but thanks to Tom, Abi, Connor, Laura, Russell & the rest of the team we have successfully sold and exchanged contracts last week on our property and can now look forward to a new chapter in our later life's. Well done and a big thank you to the EweMove Team.

6th Oct 2026 (21 days ago)We recently sold our home through Douglas & Dean and honestly couldn’t be happier with the service we received from start to finish.<br><br>Andy and Nicola and Jake of course were fantastic. Having lived there myself for over 18 years, selling was a big decision for me and there was naturally a lot of emotion attached to moving on. They handled everything professionally, while still giving the process a really personal touch.<br><br>The first people to view my house made an offer and I ended up with exactly what I was hoping to achieve. They were first-time buyers and, from the outset, seemed like ideal buyers for our home, so we were delighted.<br><br>Then came the task of finding a new home.<br>A special mention has to go to Andy, who helped us well before we had even found the property we eventually moved to. When we were trying to secure another property, Andy went above and beyond to help us, and the effort he put in during what was a particularly stressful time was genuinely appreciated. Although that purchase ultimately didn’t work out, despite all of our best efforts, Andy continued to be incredibly helpful and supportive, and we always felt that he genuinely wanted to help us find the right outcome. This included reaching out on social media on our behalf.<br><br>The sale itself wasn’t always straightforward, particularly towards the end, but Andy and Nicola remained helpful, approachable and persistent throughout. Their communication and willingness to go the extra mile made what could have been a very stressful process considerably easier.<br><br>We’re now happily settled into our new home and can look back on the whole process knowing that we had a great team behind us.<br><br>A huge thank you to Andy, Nicola and everyone at Douglas & Dean. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

The whole process was a smooth as it could have been even though the moving process in the current world is incredibly stressful! He was always available for calls, communicated well, kept us in the loop and went above and beyond for us as a family who were relocated from over 280 miles away. We cannot recommend him or the company enough.
