Charlie was always responsive and helped facilitate a sale pulling together all parties, and pushed to keep as close to our deadline as possible.
14th Nov 2025 (11 mo. ago)We have just sold a small holding through Simmons and sons for my dad down sizing. It was a complicated sale with lots of contributing factors, and stress! Made so much smoother by the care shown to us from the agency, of note Antonia. What a gem she is. Thanks again to her and the others, would recommend!
7th Sep 2025 (1 year ago)We bought and sold with Sara and would highly recommend her. She was always available at whatever time (frequent 10pm email conversations!) and even when she was abroad for a few days when we completed. We had a very complicated purchase during which Sara communicated with solicitors, other estate agents, vendors living abroad, and our purchasers to make everything happen with a great deal of tact and common sense. Our purchase and sale would not have happened without her.

13th Oct 2026 (14 days ago)We put the house on the market in May 2026, after speaking to Philip Booth (and other estate agents) for over one year. He totally understood that getting ready for an international move is not a quick thing. The asking price was set realistically together and we got full asking price, within one week of putting it on the market and we only had one couple viewing. Quite a whirlwind and a great result. Margaret was our main contact from Philip Booth Esq and communication was quick, accurate when needed. What has stood out since we moved in September has been when the Post Office failed to redirect post etc (which was ordered and paid for and was suppose to start the week before we moved) the PB team and Margaret has helped beyond their remit with picking up post from the buyers, communicated about it and made sure we’ve received it. We are so grateful for everything. Selling a house and moving is never easy, physically or emotionally. So pleased we had and chose the right team supporting us on this journey. Thankyou.

26th Sep 2025 (1 year ago)You definitely get what you pay for, and the help and support I received from Matt, Nicola and the team in Thame was excellent. I chose them because of the help I had received in the previous year or so, answering emails, providing a valuation (for free) - and they did not let me down. They were the only shining light in a difficult and horrible process. Selling a house is a really stressful process; doing it because the owner has dementia and cannot live alone is infinitely more stressful and difficult. The Fisher German team did whatever they could to make it bearable. Thank you Matt, Nicola and the rest of the team

On the last viewing told us we had secured it in the Saturday only to be told on the Tuesday that there was a higher bid. We have been brought in as a bidding baite in this property. Avoid this agent! No office to even call in

A consistent assurance that the right buyer was out there, one who would appreciate the property and its location, whilst adding value to what is a friendly, engaging community.
8th Aug 2026 (11 weeks ago)Very disappointing experience and serious concerns about transparency.<br>We applied to rent 1 Compton Manor while arranging an international move. We were accepted as tenants, paid a holding deposit, received a draft tenancy agreement and underwent referencing and credit checks.<br>We were then informed that the owner had agreed to sell the property and our tenancy would not proceed. We subsequently discovered that the property had been marketed for sale by Warmingham only 1 month before it was advertised to let.<br>We made a formal complaint because neither of us had understood that the property we were applying to rent was actively for sale. Warmingham later stated that their agent recalled verbally telling us this during the viewing. This is completely inconsistent with our recollection: we clearly remember being told that the neighbours property within the six-home development was vacant and for sale, not 1 Compton Manor.<br>After we disputed Warmingham's account in writing, we received no further response or final outcome to our formal complaint.<br>Had we known the property was actively for sale, it would have materially affected our decision to proceed with the deposit, referencing and credit checks.<br>Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Warmingham. We believe the property's dual sale/rental status should have been made absolutely clear before we were asked to commit to the rental process.<br>Prospective tenants are looking for stable homes and often have little room for uncertainty once they begin committing money, time and personal information to a property. In our view, allowing tenants to progress this far without making the risk of an ongoing sale unmistakably clear takes unfair advantage of that imbalance and falls well short of the transparency we would expect from a professional estate agent.
20th Sep 2025 (1 year ago)I recently viewed a property I was very interested in and made it clear I wanted to put in an offer and in a chain-free position. Despite this, the agent sold to a buyer involved in a chain. When I asked whether it would have been better for their vendor to receive multiple offers, I was told “of course we will take two sales over one.” When that sale later fell through and the property came back to market, I was contacted to view again. Unfortunately, the exact same situation occurred again. I was apprehensive to move forward given the previous time and again, whilst in discussion with the agent, not given a fair opportunity to put in an offer, while the agent managed to reconnect the chain. I understand that the market is difficult, but prioritising an internal double-deal over the vendor’s best interests feels deeply underhand. If I were the seller, I would be furious to learn this was happening. On a separate note, I was taken aback by the line of questioning I received during the viewing. Being quizzed about my age and affordability, along with comments like I “only look about 15”, came across as unprofessional and demeaning. It left me feeling uncomfortable and put me off wanting to view further properties with this agent.

5th Oct 2026 (22 days ago)We found ourselves selling our cherished family home in a very tricky and unpredictable market. However Alex Barton at Strutt and Parker Newbury exceeded our expectations with his calm, extremely professional and level headed approach. Alex’s knowledge of the market and the local area is second to non, and he was always on the other end of the phone be it for reassurance or updates on viewings etc. I really felt as though our hand was held throughout the process and nothing was ever a problem and always delivered with a smile! The marketing of our home was exceptional both from Newbury as well as Head Office. It really was a pleasure selling our home through S&P and I would highly recommend Alex to anybody needing to sell their own most cherished treasure. Thank you S&P!
20th Jul 2026 (14 weeks ago)We purchased a house recently through Singletons in Pangbourne. Paul Marshall handled the sale. He really was 1st class - a true professional. He worked across buyer and seller to get the deal done. After the price was agreed, Paul and the Singletons team remained engaged throughout the transaction helping resolve obstacles and keep the sale on track. Result was completion within 6 weeks. I can't recommend Singletons Pangbourne highly enough.
14th Jul 2026 (15 weeks ago)DO NOT RENT with Saville’s - YOU WILL REGRET IT!! They haven’t cleaned the building in MONTHS, dirt and mould everywhere. And they don’t dispose of bins until the room is a health hazard - and even then they don’t want to do it. No point contacting them they are all completely ignorant. Go straight to Ombudsman and Health and Safety executive, they should be fined for causing a health and safety risk.

Alex was fantastic in helping us achieve a sale, while Richard helped us find our new home, which we’re absolutely delighted with.<br><br>We listed our house just before the weekend and had two potential buyers by the following week. Alex’s knowledge and connections clearly made a difference, and we’re not sure we would have achieved the same result with another agent.<br><br>We’re really grateful to the team for helping us make our move happen and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Black Cygnet.
