17th Apr 2026 (22 days ago)a problematic agency... You pay the deposit and then they make you call somewhere else to unlock the deposit. You call there, 3-4 times and when you get close to the end of the call they pretend to lose contact. and so on. Finally, when you manage to finish the conversation, they tell you that they will send you an email for confirmation, an email that no longer comes. The email comes, but from the agency where you rented the house, telling you that you have to call to confirm your identity. And you call DPS again and so on. Shitty agency!

Sophie’s been great the whole time — always really helpful, quick to reply, and sorted everything out perfectly whenever needed. Moving out was super easy as well, everything got sorted super quick and easily with her help. Been extremely happy with Metro Residential during my stay and thanks to Sophie for all her help throughout. ??????

The team was friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything ran smoothly. They kept me fully informed throughout the process and were quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Their knowledge of the local market was impressive, and they made what could have been a stressful experience feel easy and well-managed. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and dedicated estate agent in Didsbury!

Chose Franca thinking she would be good during the final (post offer but pre contract exchange) stage in the process, but it's someone else at Philip James that handles that side of things (who also seems good, but worth bearing in mind)!- 5th May 2026 (4 days ago)Couldn't have asked for anything more from Reed Rains (Kashaan) who helped us through the process. We will hopefully be using them again in the near future.
9th Apr 2026 (30 days ago)I recently sold a flat in West Didsbury and bought a house in Withington having Annie at Jordan Fishwick didsbury branch as my agent for both my sale and purchase. Annie is such a personable friendly person who really guided me through the ups and downs of the whole process. I couldn't praise and recommend her enough. I was selling and buying alone so having an agent who really made me feel at ease through every step was so helpful and reassuring. She responded to phone calls and emails promptly, reliably updating me with new info and took a real hands on approach corresponding with my buyers and sellers solicitors when needed. If and when I consider selling my new house in the future Annie would be my first and only call. A very professional and genuinely lovely person. Thankyou so much for all your hard work and support throughout Annie!
7th Feb 2026 (13 weeks ago)We recently had veiwing which were well arranged. We were given a good overview of the property and were allowed to have enough time to see the property without rushing. Shanrawi Qader, the representative from the agency on site, was very professional and helpful and provided us with all needed information.
27th Dec 2023 (2 years ago)They sold my house within 5 weeks and they didn’t value it too high so that it generated lots of interest. They also coordinated the offers to ensure it went to best and finals. The communication was always amazing with feedback after every viewing. Both people that worked on the sale - Kim and Jules - were really lovely and supportive too.

17th Apr 2026 (22 days ago)We bought our first home with Julian Wadden and it was a great experience. Special shout out to a pair of superstars in Kath and Bernie. Kath showed us around two of the houses we viewed - one of which she had never shown before and was helping with at late notice - and she was kind, helpful, and thorough, giving us really honest and useful advice as first time buyers. Bernie was a communication queen, incredibly organised and kept us in the loop every step of the way. When we hadn’t heard from solicitors, she was straight onto it, always replying the same day and making us feel reassured. She definitely played a part in getting ducks in a row and keeping everyone in the chain happy. It was also a lovely full circle moment to be able to collect our keys from Kath. Thank you for making our first purchase so straightforward and painless! We’d highly recommend to any fellow first time buyers looking for a property.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

1st May 2026 (8 days ago)They pushed me to sell a property within their estate agency when they were on A6,then they sold it for far far more than i got( ok,they have refurbished it) but it was an inside job.So make sure they don't do this to you.

15th Apr 2026 (24 days ago)Absolute scam. Stay away from these crooks. I gave this company full management of my rental property. The tenants paid their rent on time every single month for three months, yet this company has stolen nearly three months of my rent and transferred nothing to me. They have lied repeatedly — first bank holidays, then accounting problems, then sick manager, then claiming their company is being taken over. They are now trying to change their name to escape complaints. Classic scammer tactics. I am now in overdraft and cannot pay my mortgage because these thieves are holding my money hostage. I will be taking legal action immediately and exposing them everywhere. Total fraudsters. Do not trust them with a single penny.
