9th Mar 2026 (9 days ago)Contacted Nicholas on their chat service twice, 02nd and 05th Mar 2026 to arrange a visit by one of their valuers. No one called back in response to either contact. I was surprised and disappointed and so sent an e-mail to Andrew Harwood on 06th Mar, their Residential Director in Sevenoaks to make him aware and ask someone to call me as matter or urgency. No call back as of 09th Mar. Shocking. If that's how they deal with Sellers, what opportunities are being missed with potential buyers??
17th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.
26th Feb 2026 (20 days ago)We sold our house in 2025 through Maddisons, and Karen (and the team) were amazing every step of the way. It was an unusual property, I live overseas, the buyers were tricky, lawyers were delayed and we needed additional last minute help to empty the house to meet the deadline - but everything was handled with professionalism and expert guidance. Karen also has great local networks - a moving company helped us at the 11th hour, only because they knew it was for her. She truly went above and beyond to make the entire process as smooth and stress-free as possible. We’re so glad we chose Maddisons, and you can absolutely trust Karen to manage even the most challenging situations. Highly recommend!
13th Mar 2026 (5 days ago)For the second time in as many years, we have successfully sold a property through the good offices of the JS team in Sevenoaks. They are, as ever, friendly and professional, commercially canny and work hard with a smile. I once again heartily recommend.
24th Nov 2025 (16 weeks ago)Similar to another review reference letting a property, they were only interested in getting their money. They allowed our tenants to leave early and refused to cover any shortfall due to their “miscommunication”. Tried to bring my family members private affairs into the situation as a way of blackmail. I am currently perusing lost earnings and blackmail complaints through the property ombudsman. Shocking.

He was always on top of things and quick to follow up when needed. Communication was really good throughout the process – Ben kept us updated regularly and was always easy to get hold of if we had questions. 2nd Mar 2026 (16 days ago)Bracketts surveyors produced a highly inflated dilapidations report of £105,000 in favour of the landlord. The report appears to be based on assumptions rather than evidence. There was no Schedule of Condition prepared before the lease, and no photographs were taken at the start of the tenancy. Despite this, they produced a report claiming extensive dilapidations without any proper baseline to compare the property’s condition. I contacted them twice by email requesting clarification, but they never responded. Due to the lack of transparency and communication, I have now submitted a formal complaint to Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

12th Mar 2026 (6 days ago)There were couple of properties available with Barden that I tried hard to reach them, every time they take my full name and phone number but no one got back, I tried 4 times via phone and number of times over mails. I pressed the urgency on call, the person acknowledged that I called 2 times earlier, but no one had any information on the property i looked for, neither bothered calling back.

4th Mar 2026 (14 days ago)Very disappointing experience. I had an appointment booked to view a shop and had to take time off work to attend. I drove 45 minutes to the location, but when I arrived there was no one there to meet me or open the property, I contacted the office, only to be told that they had forgotten about the appointment and asked me to rearrange for another day. This was a complete waste of my time and very unprofessional. I hope they improve their communication and organisation so this doesn’t happen to others.
23rd Sep 2025 (25 weeks ago)Our property was on the market with them for 3 months. 2 viewings and no sale. The market is not favourable at the moment but pricing of the property was probably not right.

The whole process was really well managed by the Peter Oliver team and we are very appreciative to Kelsie, Barbara, Daryl and Nick for their help moving everything along to a successful close. The whole team is friendly, proactive and solutions focused.
