7th Aug 2026 (16 days ago)I want to share our experience as tenants with Slater & Hogg Glasgow over two years to help future renters make an informed decision.<br><br>Before signing the tenancy agreement and collecting the keys, we were told that the flat would be cleaned and ready for us. We were also told that a crack in the ceiling would be repaired before we moved in. However, when we arrived after receiving the keys, the flat was in a poor condition. There were food leftovers inside the oven, an opened packet of sanitary pads left behind in the bedroom, and the property was generally dirty. The crack in the ceiling had also not been repaired.<br><br>We also never received the mailbox key. After sending multiple emails and receiving no response for over a month, we had no choice but to arrange a locksmith ourselves and replace the lock.<br><br>The inventory report was another major issue. The report stated that the property was clean and in good condition when we moved in, but this did not reflect the condition we found on arrival. Many existing issues were either not recorded or were not accurately documented. For example, some photographs did not show the full extent of the problems. A sofa that was broken was photographed in a way that did not show the damaged middle section, and the report did not mention that the sofa was broken.<br><br>Because of these issues, when we moved out we specifically requested to be present during the checkout inventory inspection. We even paid for additional days so this could happen. On the day of the scheduled checkout, the inspector did not attend, and we were informed that they had forgotten.<br><br>After leaving the property, we then spent another month chasing reimbursement for the locksmith costs. Even this turned into a difficult and time-consuming process.<br><br>Overall, we found dealing with Slater & Hogg to be stressful and time-consuming. Based on our experience, I would encourage prospective tenants to carefully consider all their options before renting through this agency.- 25th Jul 2026 (29 days ago)Countrywide were very knowledgeable of the area and offered very competitive pricing. From the start when I was hunting for properties, all the way to sealing the deal with the Solicitors - Joe at Allen and Harris Shawlands was brilliant. Personable, Knowledgeable and invested in getting me the property I wanted. Later days, Scott (I'm assuming the spelling) was on point, great communication and made the final steps as easy as can be.<br><br>Sincerely, thank you to the team at Shawlands.

All repairs were taken care of efficiently and nothing was too much trouble, They are Very reliable, fair and transparent about everything, respectful to tenants. I Highly recommend them.- 24th Jul 2026 (30 days ago)I was a landlord for ten years and dealt with Slater Hogg throughout that period. My experience was consistently appalling. I felt overcharged at every opportunity and never believed they were acting in my interests as their client. Quite the opposite—it often felt as though they were working against me. I repeatedly received information that proved to be incorrect or misleading, which caused unnecessary frustration and completely destroyed my trust in the company. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Slater Hogg to any landlord.

My son, owns his own business , his wife & 5 really well mannered level headed kids applied for a property after viewing to be told the “owner” decided they were not suitable? No credit searches, no full application only how many occupants. Is this discrimination against have a large family and assuming they’re reliant on benefits? He has private rented for some 15 years and never missed a payment. 3rd Aug 2026 (20 days ago)I would strongly advise anyone considering Rettie Newton Mearns for mortgage or remortgage services to think carefully before proceeding.<br>My experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. During my remortgage, I experienced poor communication, unnecessary delays, and a lack of ownership when problems arose. Issues with the handling of the Standard Security paperwork caused significant stress and wasted a considerable amount of my time.<br>Despite paying a £549 broker fee, I did not receive the professional service I expected. In the end, I remained with my existing lender after going through an unnecessarily frustrating process.<br>What disappointed me most was the way my complaint was handled. I raised my concerns and expected Rettie to acknowledge the shortcomings and resolve the matter fairly. Instead, I have received no meaningful resolution or compensation.<br>My dealings were primarily with Roland Brownlee and Megan Gordon at the Rettie Newton Mearns branch, and unfortunately my overall experience with the service I received was very poor.<br>Based on my personal experience, I would not use Rettie again, nor would I recommend Rettie Newton Mearns to friends or family. There are many mortgage brokers available, and I would encourage potential customers to do thorough research before choosing this branch.

12th Aug 2026 (11 days ago)The whole process of selling my flat in Mount Florida was quick, professional and stress-free thanks to Dario and Karen. From my first phone call with Karen to request a valuation to Dario's visit to value my property, they were so friendly and helpful with great local knowledge and I instantly got a good vibe about Unicorn. The process from there moved so quickly, photography was done, surveyor visited and within just over a week we were on the market with viewings lined up. Communication throughout was on point, Karen was super pro-active in following up with viewers, giving good advice and taking the lead on price negotiations. They also recommended a local solicitor which helped the process flow super smoothly too. All in all I couldn't recommend Unicorn highly enough, a very professional service with a lovely personal touch.

We filled the form in (my husband's work union offered this service) which we sent off and received an email back quickly to arrange a teams call with Jennifer then we got posted out drafts to sign and send back. We literally didn't need to do anything! Great service and very quick. Made a daunting subject a lot easier than we imagined. Craig, Megan, Laura and all of the team were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. By far the best property selling experience that we have had.
