16th Oct 2025 (8 mo. ago)I recently assisted a friend in moving out of a London apartment she had rented through this agency. Unfortunately, our experience with the agency’s representative was extremely unprofessional and upsetting. My friend, who is currently outside the UK, had asked me to collect her remaining belongings and return the keys on her behalf. When we arrived simply to do this, the agent showed up and, in an almost assault-like manner, very aggressively yanked the keys out of my other friend’s hands. We were not refusing to hand them over at all — we were simply holding them because we were in the midst of packing up her things. This was an unnecessarily physical and intimidating act that felt entirely out of line. The agent behaved rudely and treated us as if we were second-class citizens, even though we were only there to help peacefully resolve the situation on behalf of someone who couldn’t be present herself. At no point did we cause any disturbance; we were simply doing what was asked of us. It is completely unacceptable for a business representative to use physical aggression or intimidation in any circumstance. We do understand that the agency may have had prior problems with our friend — the tenant who is currently not in the UK. However, we were not her, and we had nothing to do with any prior disputes. The disrespect and aggression we were shown were completely unnecessary and unprofessional. What’s more, the incident left my friend in tears, highlighting just how distressing and unwarranted the agent’s behavior was. No one should ever be made to feel unsafe or humiliated in a situation like this. One staff member’s actions reflect the entire business, and based on this encounter, it’s clear that no one should have to deal with an agency that treats people this way. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of respect is beyond disappointing, and I strongly caution others to stay away from this agency entirely.

5th Dec 2024 (1 year ago)Chestertons were keen and enthusiatic throughout the process, with great communication at all points. They were very knowledgable and helped resolve some of the conveyancing items for us at handover. Highly recommended.
29th Jan 2019 (7 years ago)Throughout a very long and complex sale with lots of issues and potential deal breakers, Richard kept us updated and encouraged. He was always prompt to reply to messages by phone or email. He was always honest and upfront, managing our expectations and delivering difficult news appropriately. With a different estate agent we might not have had the energy to see the sale through. Robert played a similar role throughout the initial part of our sale while we kept having to re-adjust the price in a very tricky market. These guys are the real deal, the opposite of a dodgy estate agent cliché, they know their stuff and genuinely care about their clients.
8th Dec 2025 (7 mo. ago)SHAMBOLIC. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Accepted my offer on a house and assured me the vendors would not "guzump" me. After spending a few thousand on legal fees and mortgage broker fees, they tell me the house was sold to someone else. DISGRACEFUL.

11th May 2026 (9 weeks ago)We had a great experience with Andrew Lloyd from start to finish. They were always quick to respond and sort out any issues that came up while we were letting the flat. We dealt with Andrew directly most of the time and he was friendly, helpful and very easy to communicate with throughout. Move-out was also straightforward and everything was handled fairly and professionally. Easily one of the best experiences we’ve had with estate agents in London.

The service provided across all aspects has been of a very high standard with regular, accurate statements from Maryana in finance to the smooth arrangement of new tenancies and ongoing management. Anuj, who recently took over as my property manager has maintained the high standards set by Alex with regular communication, feedback and follow-up on outstanding issues. It is very reassuring to have the support of such a pleasant and efficient team.

If you need an higher price, other estate agents will try to find that for you. That might be the right approach for you, but if you want to sell at the market price, Standford’s aim to do that for you.

Heartfelt thanks go to Victoria Peters and Laurence Lai for their outstanding professionalism and patient guidance throughout the process of selling my Notting Hill apartment. A friend who has known Laurence for many years first put me in touch with Youhome and from my very first meeting I felt reassured I was in very experienced and knowledgable hands. That impression never wavered. Compared to some of my previous experiences with bigger names in the market, the team are Alter and Cope really stood out. They were highly responsive, professional and proactive whenever we sought their help. All maintenance requests were handled efficiently, and we always felt well supported as tenants.
