22nd Oct 2026 (5 days ago)My experience with Frank Innes Mapperley has been incredibly stressful and disappointing, particularly regarding the return of my security deposit and the way I was treated by their staff.<br><br>I moved out of the property on 13 August, and it has now been more than two months without receiving my deposit or getting a satisfactory resolution. My landlord, Jeanette, has repeatedly failed to respond to my messages, while the agent’s position is that the deposit cannot be released until the landlord agrees. I have contacted the landlord multiple times and even requested the return of my deposit through the MyDeposits website, but neither the landlord nor the agent has responded appropriately.<br><br>What makes this situation even more frustrating is that MyDeposits has informed me that the deposit is held under an insured scheme through Countrywide, which is associated with Frank Innes. My understanding is of what mydeposit said is that, under an insured scheme, the landlord or agent retains the deposit while the scheme provides the protection in my case agent keeps the deposit. Therefore, I find it unacceptable that I am being left chasing my own money without a clear explanation, a proper response, or a resolution.<br><br>The landlord’s excuses have been equally frustrating. At different times, I have been told that she does not have the key because the agent has it, that she is away, or that there is already another tenant in the property. Meanwhile, I am still waiting for my deposit. The lack of communication and accountability has left me feeling completely disregarded as a former tenant.<br><br>I am also concerned about the time limits associated with the deposit scheme. I understand that there may be time limits for initiating a deposit return through MyDeposits, and I do not want my attempts to recover my own money to be jeopardised by the landlord’s and agent’s failure to respond.<br><br>Unfortunately, the problems began well before I moved out. At the start of my tenancy, Frank Innes provided me with an incorrect inventory. When I emailed them about the issue, I was simply told to forward it to the landlord and contact her directly. The landlord subsequently said she was ill, and the matter was never properly resolved. I expected the letting agent to take responsibility for helping resolve tenancy-related issues, rather than simply passing everything back to the landlord.<br><br>My experience with Abby Ashmore during my final month was particularly upsetting. She insisted that access to the property was required on a working day, despite my explaining that I would be at work and could make arrangements to provide the key over the weekend. I was then told to drop the key off at the Mapperley office. I live in Sherwood and do not drive, so this was not a reasonable or convenient option for me on a working day. When I questioned why I should be expected to travel to the office while working, and suggested that the agent contact the landlord to arrange access to the key safe, my concerns were not addressed satisfactorily. The situation ultimately left me having to leave my key outside while I was at work. I felt extremely uncomfortable about the security implications of this arrangement. Had anything gone missing or had the property been accessed by an unauthorised person, who would have taken responsibility?<br><br>Overall, I have felt unsupported, ignored, and forced to do all the chasing myself. The way my deposit issue has been handled, combined with the inventory problems and the stressful arrangements surrounding access to the property, has seriously undermined my trust in this agency.<br><br>A tenant should not have to spend months chasing their own deposit while receiving little or no meaningful communication from the people responsible for dealing with it. I have kept all messages and supporting evidence to substantiate my experience and can provide them if required.

It turned out to be the right decision and they have been excellent. I cannot fault them at all and would have no hesitation recommend these guys. In particular, the Carlton branch who are a great team. Thanks guys.

Communications and updates was timely and didn’t seem to take any effort. Always there to answer questions and provide updates. 2nd Oct 2026 (25 days ago)Incredibly poor communication - I had to chase my application myself multiple times, I was given incorrect information multiple times with no real care or apology given. When you are dealing with people’s lives and homes you would think there would be good level of customer service but this place does not provide that at all ! Would never use this letting agency again as I am nearing homelessness because of them.

26th Oct 2026 (1 day ago)We recently sold my parents' home through Homemove, and the service we received from Ben Sales and Charlotte was outstanding from start to finish. Ben was fantastic throughout the process. He spent a great deal of time with my mum and dad, carefully explaining everything and making sure they understood each stage of the sale. What really stood out was the respect and patience he showed them. Unlike some other agents we met, who directed their questions to me rather than my parents, Ben always made them feel involved, listened to, and valued, building that trust was really important to my parents (and to myself) to ensure they felt as comfortable as possible in what is a stressful time. Charlotte, our Sales Progressor, was equally brilliant. Her communication was excellent throughout, and she worked tirelessly to keep things moving. She was constantly chasing updates from solicitors, other estate agents, our buyer, and all the various parties involved, keeping us informed every step of the way. Selling a property that our family has lived in for 50 years has been incredibly stressful and emotional, but Ben and Charlotte made the whole experience so much easier with their professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for their clients. We are incredibly grateful for all their hard work and would not hesitate to recommend Homemove to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

15th Mar 2026 (7 mo. ago)I used Emma Terry to sell my fathers house. I fairness to Emma she did a good job and got a good price for it in my opinion. I then went back to her with a view to sell my house which is much larger in Lowdham. I initially had a valuation on my property at the same time she valued my fathers. As she had done a good job on my first sale then I thought I would use her again. Unfortunately when I contacted her by e mail to ask her about the sale of my property and valuation and fees. I was contacted by email stating it was the same valuation as previously given a few months before and no negotiation on fees despite being a more expensive property than the first one she had sold. I t would have been more of a personal touch if she could have found time to have a personal call. The property was hugely undervalued and sold for £100K more than her valuation.
22nd Mar 2026 (7 mo. ago)Associate director consciously chose to breach trust rendering my relationship with the company as both a seller and buyer, completely untenable. My interests were entirely secondary as demonstrated by their actions. I received assurances they weren’t prepared to uphold, was made promises they weren’t prepared to keep and set expectations they weren’t prepared to follow through. Avoid this estate agent and use one of the many others available.
