26th Jun 2026 (17 days ago)I had a very disappointing experience with a property marketed by John D Wood & Co. Estate Agents (Wandsworth).<br><br>Initially, Poppy Martin was very helpful and responsive throughout the viewing and application process, which gave us confidence in proceeding. However, after our offer was accepted, we were informed that all payments and tenancy arrangements would be handled directly by the landlord rather than the agency. This was never made clear at the outset.<br><br>We had already submitted our personal and financial information to the agent, including payslips, bank statements, passports, proof of address, P60s, and our guarantor’s personal and financial details. Despite this, the landlord requested the same documents again, followed by further demands for over a year’s worth of our guarantor’s financial records, including payslips, bank statements, and P60s.<br><br>We also discovered that deposits were to be paid to a business account managed by a third-party company, which had not been disclosed by the agent. When we requested evidence of their data protection compliance, we were initially provided with an expired certificate and generic documents, which further undermined our confidence.<br><br>At this stage, we no longer felt comfortable sharing additional financial information. As a result, our £311 holding deposit was retained. We felt pressured into providing excessive personal data under the threat of losing our deposit.<br><br>Overall, the process lacked transparency, involved repeated requests for financial and personal information, and left us feeling misled. This was a stressful and disappointing experience, and I hope future applicants are given clearer information before committing to the process.

15th Jun 2026 (28 days ago)My wife and I would like to say how grateful we are to Mr Stephen Waller of Foxton’s, Bromley for all his help while we’ve been buying our flat.<br><br>Stephen is always professional and diligent, which is what anyone buying or selling property wants, of course. But he goes far beyond this through his kindness and the effort he puts in for his clients. He has kept us informed about the whole buying process and regularly went beyond and above what we expected by often checking details with the seller even before we had thought of asking about them!<br><br>Stephen’s a very thoughtful and empathetic person and we will always regard ourselves as very lucky to have had him helping us. Also, we’ll never forget Stephen’s kind message when he heard that our oldest dog had passed away last month.<br><br>When you’re buying or selling a property, you don’t want someone who you have to kick into action, someone who really is just going through the motions. You want someone who cares and tries his or her best for you, someone who is proactive and an expert at what he does. Stephen is this and more and we’d recommend him to anyone.

3rd Jul 2026 (10 days ago)We’ve had a fantastic experience with the Maldon Beresfords team from start to finish. Olivia, Nic and Neil worked tirelessly to make what is almost always a very stressful experience a little bit easier.<br><br>Starting from the house valuation, Nic arrived punctually, took his time to get a detailed view of the house, then sat down with us to go through his thoughts. He provided us with good comparisons of houses that had recently sold. He then explained to us what demographic the house would likely appeal to (he was spot on!). The price was accurate to what we were expecting and in the same ballpark as other valuations. Throughout this time, Nic kept giving some attention to our over-excited dog, so that also won some points with us.<br><br>The viewings were covered by each of the Maldon team members depending on availability. We received an offer which sadly fell through, at which point Nic was straight on the phone to talk to us on how we can get more viewings in. Within two weeks, we had another offer. Olivia spent a day at our house doing back to back viewings, we really appreciate the effort and enthusiasm she put in to selling the house.<br><br>We also found a house through Beresfords, thanks to a call from Nic, who had a place he knew we would be interested in. Sure enough, it was exactly what we wanted. Neil and Olivia took the time to show us round the house 3 times, and kept us updated on the progress of some clearing that was taking place in the property.<br><br>The team didn’t rest once we had a completed chain. They chased the Solicitors every step of the way, I had countless calls with Olivia to let me know the progress, and I would honestly question if we’d have moved in by now without them.<br><br>Finally, on moving day, it was a stress as we were trying to complete the move on short notice. Nic phoned me to give me updates on completion, and then even came to the house to sort the key exchange, saving us from going into town to collect from Beresfords when we were tight on time.<br><br>Altogether, the whole team has been amazing. We’ll recommend them to everyone, and if we ever needed to go through the process again, we’d be straight on the phone to Olivia, Nic and Neil.
7th Jun 2026 (5 weeks ago)? 1 Star My experience with Moving Places was extremely frustrating and left me with very little confidence in their professionalism or transparency. I raised multiple legitimate concerns regarding tenancy agreements, council tax liability, deposit protection, personal data being shared with other tenants, occupancy records, and inconsistencies between contracts. Instead of receiving clear written answers, I was repeatedly asked to come into the office despite specifically explaining that I needed written responses due to language difficulties. What concerned me most was the way the situation was handled when I continued asking questions. Rather than addressing the issues raised, the conversation repeatedly shifted towards warnings about potential breaches on my side and possible penalties. It felt less like an attempt to resolve problems and more like an attempt to discourage further scrutiny. Weeks passed without proper answers to many of the questions raised. Important concerns about contracts, council tax arrangements, and occupancy details were never fully addressed. When a translator assisted me with correspondence because of language barriers, Moving Places responded by suggesting my email may have been hacked and stated they would no longer reply, rather than answering the outstanding questions. I cannot say whether Moving Places were responsible for all of the issues surrounding the property, but I can say that when concerns were raised, they showed very little willingness to investigate them thoroughly or provide transparent explanations. If you are a tenant who values clear communication, accountability, and straightforward answers when problems arise, my experience suggests you should proceed with caution.

They were always helpful, communicative and professional. I will miss our chats .. but Sally probably won’t miss my stress calls!! Thank you all for everything, we really appreciate you all?????? What a truly wonderful experience selling my home with Wards Broadstairs in only 4 weeks! Billy , Lucy and the team have been so efficient , communicative and helpful from day one. This is a young team but they are truly keen and want to sell your property… a much better experience than I had with other agents in the town two years ago. Paul was great throughout the whole process - knowledgeable, helpful, efficient and never put any pressure on us. He was also very supportive keeping the sellers up to date and onside when we had an abortive sale on our side. Paul help keep the sale on track. Just a nice guy in fact. We liked him a lot.

7th Nov 2022 (3 years ago)Worst experience ever. Please avoid Dexter if you can. 2 days at 15 degrees. 6 weeks back and forward with maitenance team. Gas leak in between. Boiler still not working. Bad management and worst professionalism and rude communication. Manager office said in writting: “if you don’t like you are welcomed to leave the property” in reference to not have warm water or heater. They only provided electric heater the first time at 15 degrees because we requested. Second time, second day at 15 degrees and still non-responsive.

Absolutely brilliant, helpful, supportive, knowledgeable, progressive and kept me constantly informed and updated on the process via weekly emails. Particular shout out to Ellie who carried the whole process through from first viewing to completion and handing over of keys!! Thank you! I love my new house!!
