Advice on preparation of my property from the manager Stuart, for best rental outcome was excellent and their commitment to managing my property smoothly afterwards is outstanding. Jay, in charge of the rental side, is always on her toes, and is up-to-date with all changes in government regulations and how to comply with them on my behalf. Very approachable and helpful at all times. Pauline who runs this firm is a most genuine professional, who stood in the winter rain to wait for the locksmith after working hours. I appreciate her long years of experience for guidance on housing matters. I highly recommend anyone to use this company for their housing needs.

The team was incredibly helpful, supportive, and genuinely dedicated to selling our property and securing the best possible price. 4th Apr 2026 (5 weeks ago)I recently had to sell my parents home in West Wickham following probate. It was quite an emotional and upsetting experience and difficult at times as I do not live locally. However, James and Hannah were extremely helpful and sensitive and often went above and beyond checking that things at the house were ok. The sale went through very smoothly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alan de Maid.

Sophie from the Locksbottom branch was outstanding - always quick to respond, incredibly dedicated, and kept us informed at every stage. Her communication made a real difference and took a lot of the stress out of the process. A shout out to Oliver as well, who demonstrated great knowledge throughout the process from start to finish. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

14th Apr 2026 (25 days ago)I've recently bought my first home through Truepenny's in Charlton. Through the process of viewing properties I've met a good few estate agents and I have to say David at Truepenny's came across as the most honest and straightforward. No estate agent script or nonsense, no opening of cupboard doors and saying "look you've got a cupboard" (I've seriously had that before) and most importantly, no BS. I also thought the staff at Truepenny's went the extra mile, having seen the property online over the weekend I called the office on a Monday morning and they did a viewing the same day. And finally I was flying by a wing and a prayer at times to get everything across the line and I appreciated David's patience in all of that. I can highly recommend Truepenny's and would certainly use them if I was to sell or rent out my home in the future.

20th Mar 2026 (7 weeks ago)This is a horrible letting agency. They took all of our deposit, the entire two month deposit. £2500 gone. They WILL exploit you. They will take your money. I even paid close to £300 on the professional cleaning service that this good for nothing agency suggested. We paid all of our rents on time, all bills on time. Kept the property like we were living in our own home. If you are unfortunate enough to have to take a house with them i suggest you do not engage with agent called LUKE PEGG. if you are hearing from this man they will be taking your money. I hope this agency goes out of business. No one reads comments but if you are reading this AVOID SAMUEL ESTATE AND LUKE PEGG. Scam, exploitative, unprofessional.
16th Mar 2026 (8 weeks ago)Buying and selling a property is already a very stressful time and I found this estate agents overall poor, and general lack of communication exasperated what should be a simple part of the process in relation to viewing properties. I contacted the agency a number of times requesting a viewing to not get through to anyone or told to wait for a callback. When I did finally receive the confirmation, communication issues persisted with no replies to queries, a dead phone line when trying to call, and even a closed office even though we could see someone sitting in there. I was often given the excuse of a tech issue, but no other route to contact them was offered. We were left standing in the cold waiting for the viewing and 15 minutes late the door opened and it appeared the estate agent was waiting inside the whole time. I was very disappointed in the service and even if I was interested in the property I would think twice before buying in case the poor communication carried on delaying the sale.
