It wasn’t an easy time to sell a house and we were very grateful for their advice on the journey which resulted in a sale! The communication was excellent and having them take charge of viewings made our life much easier. Would highly recommend!
22nd Jan 2026 (15 weeks ago)The whole team at Arkwright’s in Saffron Walden have been a joy to work with. From initial contact, to the sales details - including a very inventive video, made on the only rainy day for weeks and weeks with a ‘Singing in the rain’ sound track! l had several viewings in the first week and an agreed sale within around 2 weeks ( after having been with another agent for 4 months with no viewings at all) The whole process has been easy, efficient, profession, respectful and friendly. I would highly recommend them and especially if you have a slightly quirky property. Thanks to all.- 5th Jan 2026 (18 weeks ago)If you're selling a house, I can definitely recommend Cheffins. I was undecided on whether to sell or not. It was no problem for Cheffins and Ryan in Sales arranged a valuation visit and discussed the options. Having decided to sell, Cheffins took care of the rest, including keeping an eye on the vacant property for me. It all went as smoothly as possible. If you need an estate agent, give Cheffins a call. Not just sales, they're great for lettings too.

They are still the same bunch of people who will try to rip you off on every single occasion. Please avoid at all cost. There are plenty good agencies out there

Our property was sensibly priced following their advice, attracting several viewings and securing an acceptable offer after 1 week on the market. We were kept informed throughout the process and really felt they had our back but also supported the buyer. Would highly recommend this estate agent based on our experience.

Within hours he called us with the valuation explaining exactly why it was that price and then explained the process / options and gave us time to work through the the best route to take. An absolute 5* star service and I would not hesitate to contact them to sell my property. Thank you Nick absolutely great service.

4th Mar 2026 (9 weeks ago)Don't even waste your time. Viewed a house on Monday. Asked for an application for it. Did not come through so chased it. Eventually came through on Tuesday, so filled it out and sent it in. Then told on Wednesday that it had been rented. Turns out they did not wait for my application, even though they knew it was coming. Just presented the first one they got to the landlord, who no doubt acepted it because he thought it was the only one. Since when has renting been a race and the winner is whoever gets the application in first. Waste of my time.
16th Mar 2026 (8 weeks ago)As we have just now exchanged and completed on our house sale we thought it was high time to leave a review for W H Brown East. In particular we would like to give a special mention to Manager Tanya who has without question simply gone above and beyond. Nothing has ever been to much trouble and she has always kept us updated of where we were at in the process even when the Solicitors at times did not. She is an excellent communicator and negotiator and it is not hard to see why she is the Manager. Tanya truly is a superb Estate Agent and one that we would highly recommend. We would at the same time like to give special mention to her team of Ryan Lilley and Jay. They are always so helpful, professional and positive. Ryan is a very polite and bright young man who will go far we are sure. We would once again thank and praise Tanya and team for all they have done which has enabled us to start a wonderful new chapter in our life. Thank you all and we really are so truly grateful.

They were incredibly understanding of the challenges we faced in finding a landlord willing to accept a tenant receiving benefits. Throughout the process, they were supportive, respectful, and non-discriminatory, something we unfortunately did not experience with some other agents in the area. A special thanks to Andrew, who was our main point of contact. Your understanding and compassionate approach was truly refreshing.

14th Apr 2026 (25 days ago)We haven't had to go through the nightmare of moving house for over forty years but we survived the emotional roller coaster this time round thanks to Stanton Hockett. Not easy for two eighty year olds I must admit who simply want to go live near their daughter up north! We approached the move with trepidation but their approach from the outset was totally re-assuring and empathetic. Tom started the ball rolling with his no fuss approach and we then graduated to the big guns, Brad & Gavin, after they found us a young couple to buy our treasured family home. They might have been a dating agency so suited to us were our young buyers. As apparently often occurs our journey through the legal processes to exchange and completion took us between peaks of elation to valleys of frustrated despair and back again but they were there to support us when we needed it. Thank you Tom and Lewis, thank you Gavin and most of all thank you Brad for your impeccable service to us in the sales progression stage. We are on our way now and feeling a whole lot better about our future.

They have helped with selling of my property with ease and when viewing properties they have for sale, their expertise outshines others. The team have passion and drive and cannot fault anything within the company. There were a few moments where updates could have been quicker but the team were supportive and responsive, which made the process much smoother. Appreciate the effort put in definitely recommend!
