24th May 2026 (6 weeks ago)We approached Kemp and Co to buy a property and after a discussion with Peter we were very happy to also put the Sale of our current property through them. The service was fantastic from all the team from Start to finish - Christine showed us round our new home and was knowledgeable and anything she didn’t know she fed back to the office who contacted us promptly. Peter who explained the selling process and also took wonderful photos and described our current home brilliantly, Daniel who arranged and sorted our EPC as well as completing a viewing. And finally Mark the office manager always on hand for queries and some hand holding. This was the first sale and purchase at the same time for ourselves so we were quite nervous and unsure about the process and we’re incredibly grateful for all the help the team at Kemp & Co provided. Being a local family business, the personal touch really does go a long way and knowing the areas we moved from and too I believe was a huge benefit of general market oversight. Thank you again! He had researched the sold prices of properties as well as the asking prices of current houses for sale. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional and realistic whilst being friendly and approachable. I would totally recommend Bridgfords in Halifax if you're looking for an estate agent to sell your property.
24th Jun 2026 (11 days ago)I was in a difficult situation and all hopes were gone for getting a mortgage. Hanna found me one! She has been amazing throughout the whole experience. I never once hesitated to contact her and she would literally reply in minutes, despite the crazy number of questions she would receive! The whole process with Hanna at William H Brown has been fantastic. Would definitely recommend Hanna to anyone applying for a mortgage.

They clearly understand what outstanding customer service looks like and deliver it effortlessly at every stage of the process. Every member of the team we dealt with was professional, approachable, and genuinely helpful, which made what can often be a stressful experience feel smooth and well managed throughout. A special mention must go to Heidi, who was absolutely fantastic. She worked incredibly hard behind the scenes, always quick to resolve any issues, answer questions, and keep everything progressing efficiently. Her dedication, communication, and support made a huge difference to us. Overall, the entire experience exceeded our expectations and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

It has been an emotional process with many ups and downs, and both my husband and I are truly grateful to Joeanne and Kerry for staying alongside us throughout. Their patience, understanding, and steady support meant a great deal during what was sometimes a stressful and uncertain time. Joeanne, in particular, was incredibly kind, reassuring, and encouraging when we needed it most. We deeply appreciate their professionalism, persistence, and genuine care in helping us reach this important milestone. 18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

30th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)I would not use DPSH again. During my purchase transaction, I found the conduct of senior staff disappointing and unnecessarily confrontational. I was described as "shady" and "dodgy" and told that I "didn't understand the market" despite being fully engaged throughout the process, responding promptly to requests, spending over £2,000 on surveys and associated costs, and progressing my mortgage application through to offer stage. When my original buyer withdrew, I immediately explored alternative options and made it clear that I was in a position to proceed without relying on the sale of my own property. Despite this, I was subjected to pressure, arbitrary deadlines, and repeated suggestions that the property would be remarketed. I am fortunate enough to work within the property and financial services industry and was able to challenge this behaviour confidently. My concern is that many buyers would simply accept this sort of treatment and feel pressured into making decisions they would not otherwise make. The most disappointing part is that after all of this, the transaction ultimately broke down when another offer was accepted, despite my position having been clearly explained. This left me having incurred significant costs and invested considerable time into a purchase that I was willing and able to progress. What was most surprising was that many of these comments came from the director of the company rather than a junior member of staff. Property transactions are stressful enough without buyers having their integrity questioned or being subjected to unnecessary pressure. Unfortunately, my experience fell well below the level of professionalism I would expect.
