20th Apr 2023 (3 years ago)I can’t thank the Leese and Nagel team enough, professional from start to finish, kept us updated throughout, their knowledge of the local market is second to none as well as finding us the ideal buyers to suit the house of our late Mother. She would be so happy. Leese and Nagel were honest, reliable and friendly while never letting their professionalism down. The whole team were superb. Thank you Rob, Louis and Catherine who we had personal dealings with but I have no doubt the rest of the team would be the same. Massive thank you from me, my brother and sister.

13th Jan 2025 (1 year ago)Bad experience here. I have been waiting for the return of deposit since 08/09/2024 (check-out date), at time of writing the date is 04/12/2024. Despite asking for updates and calling, I have not received any response from this agency for 2+ weeks. IMO, there are many other options in Bristol worth trying before Chase Buchanan Downend.
4th May 2026 (5 days ago)We have found our Agent Miranda Menzies to be very helpful, hard working, professional and feel we would not have sold our property if it was not for her. Definitely use Property Experts if you want a smooth sale without the promises other estate agents gave us and did not deliver.

27th Apr 2026 (12 days ago)I had a disappointing experience with Hunters. The photography fee was explained upfront, but I think this should be highlighted more clearly to new sellers—especially as many other agents include this for free while charging a similar fixed fee. The photos themselves were quite dark and not as strong as other listings. After my initial sale fell through, the property was re-listed quickly, but communication throughout was poor. I was almost always the one chasing updates, calls were rarely answered, and I often had to leave messages for a callback from someone who wasn’t even handling my property. The flat then sat on the market for over two months without a single viewing. When I did manage to speak to the agent, they didn’t seem to have any clear explanation as to why this was the case or offer any real suggestions to improve interest—despite other similar flats nearby selling. The exit process summed up the experience. Although I was emailed about the 14-day notice, a simple courtesy call the day before would have gone a long way to reiterate this and acknowledge that the property hadn’t sold. Instead, I had to call on the final day myself to arrange getting my keys back, only to find the listing had already ended. I also wasn’t told my agent was on leave. Overall, a lack of proactive communication made this a frustrating experience. Update: They’ve handed over the wrong keys to the new Estate Agent, causing me to take time out of work to meet at my own property so my spare keys could be used. Not good enough, and not at all professional. I do not recommend Hunters Estate Agents.

29th Apr 2025 (1 year ago)We viewed a commercial unit in March 2025. We liked the unit and so were asked to put forward a proposal as there were other interested parties. We were then asked to put forward a further best and final offer. Following that, over one month later we have never heard from Alder King, despite chasing several times. Incredibly rude and unprofessional.
4th Jun 2024 (1 year ago)They didn't do what they told me they would. I was given the impression my house would sell quickly. I didn't really get feedback unless I asked. I was told one person would do viewings and that didn't happen either. One of the people in the office was quite rude to me.
12th Feb 2026 (12 weeks ago)The agents were generally adequate, though punctuality was a concern. During one arranged inspection, the agent arrived over an hour late. I had contacted the office beforehand to cancel as I was no longer available, but the agent still attempted to gain entry and became defensive and confrontational when refused access. My main concern is with the property management companies they represent. I would strongly advise caution when dealing with properties managed by Forge Property Group. Despite being an exemplary tenant with a perfect payment record and maintaining the property to a high standard, they demonstrated extreme inflexibility. When my partner's grandfather passed away and we inherited his cat, Forge Property Group refused to allow it despite my offer of additional security deposit and the fact other flats in the building have pets. They refused to renew my tenancy solely due to this, then served a formal Section 21 eviction notice as a "precautionary measure" despite my full cooperation. The property was not redecorated between tenancies and basic maintenance required extensive follow-up. Future tenants: document everything in writing and be aware that flexibility cannot be expected from this management company.
2nd Feb 2022 (4 years ago)Ive had a great experience with Howards. They were excellent communicators, kept me informed about viewings and viewers' remarks every step of the way. I feel they dedicated a very generous amount of time to getting my flat sold and they left no stone unturned in the process. I strongly recommend them.

21st Apr 2026 (18 days ago)My friend and I were renting a flat in the Downend area through a company called Intire. We were happy with the service they provided. Then that was switched to Chase Buchanan and things went down hill. Within months, they notified us that 'the landlord' had decided to increase our rent by 30%. I was in a low paid job & my friend had recently lost her job so it would have been a struggle to afford that. After some discussions, it was agreed that it would be reduced to 'just' a 15% rise. Still a struggle but we managed. About 10 moths later, they informed us - BY EMAIL - that the landlord had decided to sell the flat & that we had to get out. There was no chance of us affording to live together elsewhere and, as we were getting zero help from Chase Buchanan, we had to separate. They also charged us £300 (+ VAT) to have the place deep cleaned after we left when the flat was far from clean when we moved in 6 years earlier. Some staff were helpful at times but I found it very unprofessional to be told that we were being evicted by email. The only good thing to come out of this is that we'll never have to make use of the services again.
16th Jul 2025 (9 mo. ago)We switched agents to Goodchild after a slow 3 months with another agent. James was confident that he would get our house sold for the full guide price and he delivered. Unfortunately, our sale fell through after a number of months, just before Christmas. We were considering pulling the house from the market but James said he had other buyers and he delivered again. Our house sale completed with the new buyers very quickly and for full guide price. James brings enormous confidence and energy to the sale process. He’s resilient and ultimately delivers on his promises. We really appreciated the approach he took to communicating with us and the support provided by his team. I have already recommended James to neighbours and would trust him again. He’s a great guy who works hard for his clients. Thank you James. J&R.
