2nd May 2026 (7 days ago)Not sure what you have to do to qualify to get on the list at Bakewell and Horner. But even with the new Law that only came in Yesterday. I am still getting emails saying. Sorry you have not made the Shortlist. Its a shame really as there are so many of us just trying to find a home. But every application I have made with Bakewell the computer always says NO. Hmmmmm
21st Apr 2026 (18 days ago)They came out to value my property, but I chose to use an alternative agent. They now harass me every couple of months despite making it clear I am not interested in working with them.
22nd Apr 2026 (17 days ago)Recently sold our house in Aigburth and Venmores did everything they said they would from start to finish. Joe provided excellent advice on our initial valuation and presented the property perfectly. The sales team organised viewings even before we went on the market and always provided feedback promptly and were always available to us. We had a difficult chain but they post sales team were always so supportive and proactive by giving us advice and chasing the sale through. Thanks for all your help, highly recommended!

Millie made sure we didn’t have any outstanding questions and also arranged for us to view another property on a short notice. That’s a true representation of top notch customer service. 1st May 2026 (8 days ago)It’s hard to describe the poor service we have received from Northwood. If you are a tenant and your hot water goes off, please be prepared to wait at least 6 weeks + for this to be fixed. They outsource their maintenance to a company that is incapable of sourcing anything quickly (we have been left over 4 weeks now without a washing machine and are still waiting for this to be resolved). When this has happened in the past with a different letting agent, this was sorted within 2 days. You can try chasing Northwood to get an update but you will be met with people saying they will get back to you the same day and never do. If you are a landlord and are looking to let Northwood manage your property, I would highly suggest you DO NOT use them. If we didn’t love where we live so much, their service is enough to make us move.

I actually originally bought the property through them around 8 years ago, so it felt like a natural choice to use them again—and they didn’t disappoint. From start to finish, the whole process was smooth and well managed. The team were always responsive, professional, and happy to answer any questions I had along the way, which really helped reduce the stress of selling. A big thank you to James, Megan, and Chris in particular—they were all fantastic to deal with. Their communication was excellent, and they kept me updated throughout, making sure everything stayed on track. Overall, I’d highly recommend Whitegates to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. A reliable, friendly, and professional service from the team.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

It’s always reassuring to deal with someone who is efficient and genuinely helpful. Thank you for the great customer service — it is very much appreciated.
