10th Nov 2025 (11 mo. ago)Avoid Hills Estate Agency at All Costs!! I have spent the past year being over-promised and massively under-delivered by Hills. The experience has been nothing short of a disaster. There has been a complete failure in communication from start to finish. I was repeatedly given “estimated completion dates” that never materialised, followed by weeks even over a month of no contact whatsoever. Because of their poor advice, I am now over £2,000 out of pocket. The unprofessionalism is staggering. Staff openly discussed the seller’s personal finances, telling me the seller “had no money” and describing them as “an absolute nightmare customer.” Imagine paying Hills thousands of pounds to sell your property, only for them to bad-mouth you to the buyer. Completely unacceptable. Given this behaviour, it’s no surprise there are so many negative reviews online. I submitted a formal complaint and received a response from Charlotte today no empathy, no apology. If this is how a director behaves, it’s clear why the rest of the staff follow suit. If you value your time, your money and your sanity, avoid Hills like the plague!! Useless!!

15th Jun 2026 (19 weeks ago)The initial meeting to value the property, the subsequent meeting to take photos and the organising of the paperwork was great, we were impressed, which was why we went with them. Unfortunately, after 14 weeks on the market they had only got us 2 viewings and their communication to us was a bit hit and miss, so we decided to go with a different agent. They weren’t the right agent for us on this occasion.

26th Oct 2026 (1 day ago)We contacted Entwistle Green regarding a detached bungalow that was for sale near the centre of Westhoughton....Claire Wright was the lead contact for the purpose and we have to say that without her tireless and professional support we wouldn't have ended living there now. The property we were leaving took 7 months to process and we felt many times that we would lose purchasing the bungalow. Claire was the " go between" in terms of comms with the seller and ourselves and as a result of her tenacity we managed to complete the purchase and are settling in now. So massive thanks to Claire. But we also have to say " thank you" to other members of the team in the Westhoughton office as they too were always friendly and professional when we had the need to contact them and Claire was out of the office. Would continue to and have already recommended Entwistle Green to others..

The lettings process was smooth from start to finish and they found solid tenants without any hassle. Feels like they’re looking after the property properly, which gives me peace of mind.
18th Oct 2026 (9 days ago)I have worked with the team at Charlesworth Estate agents for both buying and selling properties for a number of years and I can honestly say there is nothing the team can not assist with they are extremely accommodating when booking viewings fitting around you rather than you working around them. The ladies are the backbone of the operation Adele Janet and Laura they are the Charlies Angels of Estate Agents with Bob (Charlie) in the back ground supporting his team. So if you are looking for a trustworthy and efficient sale or purchase in and around Westhoughton look no further than Charlesworth Estate Agents.

From valuation of our house to all the ups and downs of the sale process we were guided and looked after throughout . Pam was an integral part of the process ensuring communication between all parties as well as going above and beyond with a sympathetic and listening ear when needed. Aron also deserves a special mention for his unwavering passion and sense of humour when dealing with various viewings.??????<br>Thank you Cardwells..with your help we have started our next chapter??????
19th Oct 2026 (8 days ago)Kelly showed us around the property with real care and took the time to explain how offers and acceptances work on both parties, which was genuinely helpful. We ultimately decided not to go ahead with the property but she never pushed or rushed us toward a decision. She also kept in touch both before and after the viewing which made the whole process feel smooth and well looked after.<br><br>I'd happily recommend Kelly to anyone buying or selling.

15th Oct 2026 (12 days ago)Absolutely shocking letting agents!!! I’ve rented a property with another firm for over 10 years and never had no issues ever!! Since I’ve moved into my new rental property with this letting agents, they have been absolutely appalling, very rude, unprofessional and staff have shocking manners and think they are able to treat and talk to you like shit especially David!! Nothing gets done they try and fob you off! They also take no concerns into consideration they just tell you we don’t have to do that!! Like replacing blown windows in the property in a child’s bedroom! I’ve never been so disgusted with a company and how they handle business!! Stay clear everyone from the rental side!!!! I wish I would have stayed with my old letting agents than deal with these people!!

5th Oct 2026 (22 days ago)Selling my mum and dad’s house was always going to be emotional, but Miller Metcalfe made the whole process so much easier from start to finish.<br><br>From the very beginning, Dean stood out as the most knowledgeable estate agent we spoke to. He carried out thorough research and took the time to properly assess the property. What really made a difference was how clearly he explained the valuation and the reasoning behind it, something no other agent did. It gave me real confidence that we were in the right hands.<br><br>Throughout the process, the team were fantastic. They kept me fully updated and handled all the viewings, which took a huge weight off my shoulders during a sensitive time.<br><br>A special thank you to Chelsea, who was incredible. She supported me every step of the way, especially when I had a few wobbles. She was always patient, reassuring, and happy to answer all my questions (even the daft ones!). Her honesty and communication made such a difference.<br><br>I’m so grateful for the care and professionalism shown by the whole team, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Miller Metcalfe to anyone.

29th Aug 2026 (8 weeks ago)I had a very disappointing experience with Balmer & Co and would not recommend them based on my experience as a tenant.<br><br>While I was living at the property, part of the kitchen ceiling collapsed. Despite the seriousness of the issue, I was left living with the damaged ceiling for around three months before it was finally repaired. During that time, I repeatedly tried to get the issue resolved, but my communications were often ignored and the overall level of service was extremely poor.<br><br>The problems continued at the end of my tenancy. Balmer & Co claimed that there were marks and scratches on the walls and sought deductions from my deposit. However, I had video evidence showing that those marks were already there before my tenancy.<br><br>The most concerning part of my experience happened when I went to their Atherton office to ask for an explanation about the DPS deposit request. I handed my phone to Rachel so she could look at the DPS request and explain to me what was happening. Instead of simply explaining it to me, she pressed the “Accept” option on my phone.<br><br>I had not handed her my phone to accept the request on my behalf. I gave it to her so she could look at it and explain the situation to me. Once the request had been accepted, I was no longer able to dispute the deductions through the normal DPS process.<br><br>I later contacted DPS about what had happened, but by that point the request had already been accepted.<br><br>Overall, my experience was extremely poor: around three months living with a damaged kitchen ceiling, repeated lack of communication, disputed claims about the condition of the property despite me having video evidence, and finally the way the DPS request was accepted on my phone when I had only asked for an explanation.<br><br>Based on my experience, I would strongly advise tenants to keep photographs and videos of the property from the beginning of the tenancy, keep all communication in writing, and never hand over control of their DPS account or phone when discussing a deposit dispute
