21st Oct 2026 (6 days ago)We sold our house in Scotland and Katie Wright managed the process for us.<br><br>Katie kept us well informed at every stage of the sale, which as we live in Australia was important to us. Delivery of the sale was absolutely on time, and Katie's liason with our buyers solicitor was exemplary.<br><br>I cannot recommend her and Ralph Sayer enough.

7th Oct 2026 (20 days ago)We thoroughly recommend Melrose & Porteous who recently handled the marketing and conveyancing for our property. They were highly knowledgeable of the location but most importantly they listened to our suggestions which meant we had a good number of viewings. The whole team at M&P were extremely attentive, highly courteous and provided a service with a friendly personal touch which we greatly appreciated. There was never any delay in any communications and when it came to the conveyancing, this was handled promptly with everything kept to the agreed schedule. We were very pleased that we chose Melrose & Porteous to handle our sale.

17th Sep 2026 (6 weeks ago)As a healthcare professional moving to the Scottish Borders to support the local community, I expected a basic level of professionalism from Edwin Thompson. Instead, they completely wasted our family's time. We were asked to submit a detailed application form with sensitive personal details on 2nd September just to secure a property viewing. After taking our data, they went completely silent. I followed up via email on 9th September asking for an update, but received absolutely no response from Molly. It is entirely unprofessional to harvest personal data from busy professionals relocating to the area and then completely ignore them.

12th Oct 2026 (15 days ago)If I could give 0 stars I would.<br><br>Extremely disappointing service – would not recommend<br><br>I would not recommend Watermans based on our experience purchasing our new home. What should have been a straightforward process became unnecessarily stressful due to repeated delays, poor communication and a lack of organisation.<br><br>Our mortgage in principle was seemingly not dealt with for around 2–3 weeks, and we were then informed approximately two weeks before completion that Watermans was not on our mortgage lender’s panel. This should have been identified at the very beginning, rather than leaving us scrambling to find another solicitor at short notice and worrying about whether our transaction would go through on time.<br><br>Communication was another major issue. We experienced significant delays in receiving responses, and our selling solicitors at Warners were left chasing Watermans for information, with some matters reportedly outstanding for weeks. We should not have had to continually chase for updates when we were paying for a professional service to manage the legal process.<br><br>We were also disappointed with our experience dealing with Megan, whose manner we found rude and unpleasant, and with the lack of communication from Hannah, who left us waiting for responses for prolonged periods. To add to this, our name was spelt incorrectly on a Minute of Agreement we had paid for, which only added to our concerns about attention to detail.<br><br>Buying and selling a home is stressful enough without having to deal with avoidable delays, last-minute problems and constant uncertainty. Much of this could have been prevented with better communication, organisation and basic checks at the outset.<br><br>I genuinely feel the service we received fell well below the standard we expected. I would strongly encourage anyone considering using Watermans for a property transaction to think carefully about their options. We have raised our concerns formally and hope they take them seriously, investigate what went wrong

Mark was professional, attentive, and went out of his way to make things easier, even when I was traveling and couldn’t be there. He stepped in to support with things like arranging a replacement fridge for the buyer and just got things done. His support went beyond and I really appreciated how reliable and proactive he was. I think they are the best agent in Edinburgh.

He secured viewings at the earliest opportunities, negotiated effectively, and worked hard to secure the best possible deal for his clients.<br><br>He is honest and transparent with his feedback and provides valuable recommendations throughout the process. He genuinely goes the extra mile to secure the deal and get things done.<br><br>Another great benefit is the additional services they offer at fixed fees. This provides complete transparency and avoids any ambiguity around costs.<br><br>Overall, I had a very positive experience and would definitely recommend Andrew to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.
