12th Mar 2026 (8 weeks ago)Savills were the letting agent for my property for about 6yrs after being bought by Area Estates. Savills do bare minimum with regards to repairs and maintenance. Camilla Kirby who recently left the company was lovely and made every effort to assist with the limited authority she had, sadly she was replaced by Rachel Bentley who is condescending, rude and quite frankly should not deal with the public in any capacity. Following a S21 notice due to selling before the new landlord rules come into affect in May, they attempted to charge £760 for removal of a fish tank from the loft of property despite it being in the property from the beginning of the tenancy and having no proof it wasn’t. She lied in a reference and stated that it couldn’t be changed as the director had approved it, and when I pressed her saying the reference was factually incorrect she stated “the DWP may be able to assist you with something in writing about your benefits”.

7th May 2026 (2 days ago)unfortunately my experience with this agency has been consistently disappointing. Many of the properties they advertise look great and are reasonably priced, which is why I kept applying and contacting them repeatedly. However, despite numerous enquiries, I have never once been offered a viewing. The process is always the same: you call about a property, they ask you to complete an application form, you send all your information, and then you receive an automatic email saying someone will contact you shortly. But nobody ever does. The most frustrating part is the complete lack of communication. Other agencies usually contact applicants to explain whether viewings are available, whether the property already has too many applicants, or whether the application was unsuccessful. This agency simply ignores people after they submit their details. I even contacted them multiple times to ask for clarification, and each time I received the same scripted responses such as “we cannot offer viewings to everyone.” I understand that perfectly. The issue is not rejection — the issue is the lack of professionalism and communication. For context, I have a good rental history, and I currently rent a property that actually costs more than many of the properties I applied for through this agency. I am financially able to afford the rent, so the complete lack of response is difficult to understand. I also know several local friends (families) who tried to rent through this agency and had similarly negative experiences. They described the agency as completely unhelpful and said the process caused them a huge amount of unnecessary stress.If applicants are told someone will contact them, then they should receive an update, even if the answer is no. People are left waiting with no information at all. I also found the staff quite dismissive and unhelpful during phone conversations. Communication felt rushed and unfriendly rather than supportive. I genuinely feel this agency needs to improve its customer service, transparency, and communication with applicants. A simple update or honest explanation would save people a lot of time and stress but they usually say:”We have no time for that”!!!Actually it’s part of your job!

My case was far from straightforward, with several complications along the way, but he handled everything with professionalism and confidence from start to finish. What really stood out was his ability to simplify a complex buy to let situation. He took the time to understand my circumstances, explained all available options clearly, and worked tirelessly to secure the right deal. Even when challenges came up, he was proactive and always one step ahead, which made a stressful process feel much more manageable. Mortgage advisors are there to guide you through what can often be a daunting process, helping you find the most suitable deal for your situation , and that’s exactly what he delivered. His communication was excellent throughout, keeping me updated at every stage and making sure nothing was overlooked. 27th Aug 2025 (8 mo. ago)I am not qualified to review Halls as an organisation, but I am eminently qualified to review the help given to me by the delightful member of staff who dealt with my consignment, which was directly connected with Stalag Luft III and the Great Escape. If other members of staff at Halls share even half the fine attributes of Caroline Dennard, then I suspect that the organisation itself deserves five stars too. At a very difficult time in my life, following the death of my wife, Caroline was unstinting in her labours, her empathy and her professionalism. She did more to honour the memory of the remarkable wartime RAF officer, whose memorabilia I was reluctantly having to sell, than I could ever have hoped for, even arranging for additional research by Doctor Steve Bond. Her hard work and kindness both yielded great dividends, for she not only helped soothe my suffering soul, but also bettered the auction's guide price. Most important, she put my beloved step-father's memory and medals into the hands of someone who would understand and value them.

From the initial booking of the evaluation, to their marketing expertise. All the way through to bookings and viewings. They have been amazing! Sales progression have been great. Pushing the sales along when we thought it had stalled!
