2nd Apr 2026 (5 weeks ago)(2-April-2026 update) I am very disappointed with the way Barnard Marcus has handled my deposit return. Despite repeatedly following up, they continue to respond with vague messages like “I am still currently liaising with your former landlord in regards to what they may potentially be looking to claim for to deduct from your deposit.” This has been going on for far too long, and it feels completely unprofessional. The checkout inventory report clearly stated there were no damages and I have hired professional end of tenancy cleaning, so there is no reason for the landlord to spend days “looking for” deductions. The agency should be enforcing a clear deadline for the landlord, not helping them delay payment. I expected transparent and timely communication, but instead, I have experienced avoidable delays and poor accountability. Very disappointing service. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To future tenants, I wish you good luck and all the best coz you really needed it. People here just don't give a sh*t and don't care about delivering what they have promised. 1. I was only given the tenancy agreement 3 days before the tenancy start date, as I have mentioned multiple times that I need time to read the agreement and make payment and plan ahead for my moving, they only serve the landlord as the landlord is given a template and rights to modify any leasing terms 2 weeks ago, but I only got 3 days. And they insist that I need to start paying bills on the tenancy start day and not willing to postpone it even it is their fault to not send me the agreement earlier. Without any confirmation how am I suppose to make plans in moving? 2. They will not share the landlord's contact and saying I can contact them whenever I need help. However, whenever I needed them to ask landlord for confirmation, eg if it is ok to replace the traditional meter with smart meter, they will never help you and no reply. I tried to call and email, no response. Also I tried to ask them to confirm with landlord if water bill is also included, as the rent only stated hot water included. I tried to call Thames Water and got the reply is I cannot set up an account with them as the whole building was under 1 business account. I addressed this issue to Barnard Marcus Covent Garden and would would like to seek for a confirmation that I do not need to pay for water. What I got was, if you contacted Thames Water then I should take their advice. Come on! I need confirmation from you! not from Thames Water! There are many more little things that shows how irresponsible they are to Tenants, I hope this review can help anyone who is considering to rent from them. **When it comes to fixture maintenance, Hollie from the property maintenance team however did a great job, she replied my emails and follow up on the issues. I really appreciated her prompt response. PS. I will keep updating my frustrated experiences that I encounter with them.

26th Mar 2026 (6 weeks ago)Zaylin Mascarenhas has been excellent in helping us secure a rental flat in Clerkenwell. He has made himself fully available, is a wealth of knowledge and has been incredibly patient in explaining the process. He has gone above and beyond, He has stayed after hours to accompany us for various viewings to ensure our confidence it was the perfect flat for us. Which he had identified for us the moment I walked through the door! I highly recommend Zaylin in the Clerkenwell office.

The property was not cleaned at all upon completion, communication throughout the process was consistently poor, and they failed to return important documents relating to the new energy supplier. Wikki, in particular, was extremely unhelpful. I would not recommend using this agency for a purchase of any kind.

28th Apr 2026 (11 days ago)We recently sold our flat in Greencroft Gardens, after over 25 years- this was with the support and advice from this wonderful estate agent- which combines excellent local knowledge with a personal touch. We are particularly indebted to Jeremy, who as part of this small family business was relentless in keeping us up to date, with encouraging remarks and professional advice. No other agent comes close to the friendly and efficient service. Brian and Mary
29th Apr 2026 (10 days ago)Saj and the rest of his team are con artists, absolutely disrespectful, rude and dishonest. He lied about the amenities in the newly built apartment we were renting, costing us time and money to fix the issues. We could not work from home for 3 months bc we couldn’t have WiFi over the 2 floors of the apartment. They would come for inspection and walk around in their shoes talking to us like we are some peasants, patronising us with every little thing and harassing us via emails. When we moved out they kept our deposit for “cleaning services” despite the flat being cleaned by us and didn’t provide any original receipts but their own made up invoice costing us 2/3 of our deposit and gave us back the remaining of it a whole year later. Overall our losses came to about £3k for renting a 4 bedroom apartment for only 14 months from them. Just a disgrace and you can see they are lying in your face openly and do not feel any guilt. Everyone who we dealt with was either ignorant, lying or rude especially Nicky and Saj.

We appreciate so much what Ruby, Jason and the team at JTM did for us. Thank you for helping us buy our first home. We would recommend JTM homes & use them again ??
5th Sep 2023 (2 years ago)Amazingly bad service We rented a complete owned property for just over 2 years. In that time we had about 5 property managers. This should say all you need to know. Each one not knowing what had gone on before. Given the fact a week before we thought we were moving in we had to chase them to find out nothing had moved forward and they were waiting on us to send documentation (we were not told). Throughout the 2 years they were never really there to help you. After we have left they have tried to keep around 75% of our deposit which is absolutely insane. Missing furniture that never existed in the first place, the most expensive cleaning quote imaginable and £50 to remove a single chair. These are some of the excuses on the quote. Try and avoid complete properties when possible!!

24th Apr 2026 (15 days ago)I originally put my house up for sale with another very known estate on Chingford mount E4. They quickly found me a buyer, someone known to them that buys and sells properties through them. After nearly reaching exchange position they tried to drop me £25000 because they just wanted to. When I asked the agents if they had been following up my sale making sure that things were going well it was a NO. £2000 less in my pocket I went straight to Coultons in Chingford E4, what can I say, very friendly helpful people that go out there way to help. They found me a buyer and followed it through, constantly communicating with me every step of the way. They are all professionals and enjoy doing their job. I mainly delt with Euan, real gentleman. He would do anything he can to make everything go smoothly. Up to the completion day he was calling to make sure all was well. So if you really want to buy or sale a property forget about going to second best, just go straight to the best Coultons in Chingford, where you will get professional services and peace of mind.

Ben was supportive and informative throughout the offering process, and once our offer was accepted, Hannah in the sales progression team was so proactive with solicitors on both sides to make sure everything moved along as quickly and smoothly as possible. Their help and expertise meant the sale went through as early as it could have done and their communication throughout was fantastic. During the sales process, Josh was so helpful and accommodating in showing us around the property as we made plans for renovations, and we felt like the whole team couldn't do enough to help. Highly recommend working with this fantastic team whether you're buying or selling.

6th May 2026 (3 days ago)The process has been remarkably quick and efficient from receiving the Get Agent information on the 3-5 top performing local estate agents, to selecting our Personal Estate agent who has excellent knowledge of the local environment and current sales values. She supported our presentation of the home and her pre-publicity and social media "video teasers" were a highly useful marketing tool. We had received an offer before going to market due to her knowledge of local buyers. We did however wait to open market and have had an offer within 10days!
