I think they all work very hard and I like the fact it is independent and a family run business who knows the local area inside out. 16th May 2026 (8 weeks ago)Very disappointed with the service I received from Connells during my recent tenancy process. I have dealt with other staff members at Connells before and never had issues, but my experience with Ashley Thompson-Boyle was extremely frustrating due to poor communication and misinformation throughout the process. Communication throughout the entire process was very poor. I constantly had to chase for updates myself. I was also told that on the key collection day all I needed to do was sign paperwork, pay, and collect the keys. However, when I arrived on the moving day with van rentals and arrangements already booked, I was suddenly informed that the contract was not ready because the deposit process had not been completed through the zero deposit company, something that had never been clearly communicated beforehand. This delayed my move-in by a full day and caused unnecessary stress and additional costs. What disappointed me most was the lack of accountability when these issues were raised. This is genuinely the first time I’ve ever written a complaint or negative review about an employee or agency, but the overall experience was stressful and far below the standard I expected from a well-known letting agency like Connells.

Our property was priced realistically from the start, unlike two other agents who valued it much higher despite us already having a Red Book valuation. The results speak for themselves – 26 viewings in just 3 days, 18 offers, and sold subject to contract in under a week! The team has been honest, reliable, professional and a pleasure to deal with throughout. We also really appreciated that they don’t work on a commission basis. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for an estate agent. Thank you for making the whole process so straightforward.
23rd Jun 2026 (15 days ago)Extremely frustrating experience with Amelia Knibbs. Showed up on time in 32 degrees heat to find the viewing had been cancelled two hours ago. Apparently she had notified me via text despite every prior exchange being through WhatsApp and email and had the audacity to blame it on me for not seeing it. Absolutely ridiculous.

4th Feb 2025 (1 year ago)College and county has looked after two rental houses for me for several years and they take all the hassle out of my life. They select great tenants and give regular feedback on how the letting is progressing, they also deal efficiently with the normal household problems like drains, appliance breakages and keep me informed with me having to interrupt my day to sort them out. They have also negotiated HMO licences with the council on my behalf. I have had requests from other letting agencies but am not going to change. Thank you C&C
5th Jul 2026 (3 days ago)I had a viewing with Seth on Marconi road and as a ftb found that he was so helpful in talking about Chelmsford as an area and, stuff like parking permits, style of houses in the area and what would hold their value and generally explaining everything in a clear and concise manner. I’d had viewings with other agents throughout the week and he was definitely the most helpful & knowledgeable compared to other agencies I’d viewed with.
