We're first time sellers, so we were grateful for their extra guidance especially during a turbulent housing market. After a slow-ish start (mainly due to factors outside of our control), HF secured us a final offer we were really happy with. For various reasons we've decided not to sell yet, but look forward to working with them again next spring.

2nd May 2023 (3 years ago)Very pleasant, friendly and well presented and punctual agents but lacked experience which I felt contributed to poor marketing and incorrect information being passed on to prospective buyers. Communication could also have been better.

Their approach is subtle rather than pushy! And the recent sale bagged us a better price (even with a reduction) than other agents even valued the house at. 30th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)I don't understand why you phoned me and took all my information, only to still ask me to call you to book a viewing because you can't be bothered to check your emails. I specifically told you to auto-book me for a viewing if a property becomes available. Within five minutes of me getting a notification about a property, it's already gone. It seems like viewings were pre-booked. Also, I can see that you reported this as a fake review to Google. You have no shame in lying. You must be dreaming if you think this review will disappear.
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

29th Jan 2026 (23 weeks ago)I worked with Paul Appleby and he handled the viewings etc all himself, I was concerned as i was relocating from Wiltshire back to Cornwall after a death in the family and was moving to Cornwall prior to the sale of my house in Wiltshire. This time was already stressful enough however Paul checked in on the house even after we had an offer and kept me informed along the way. This was more like dealing with a family member that I had known years than someone I had only met recently. The whole transaction has been smooth and I am due to complete next week, just over 9 weeks from offer.
