7th Aug 2026 (16 days ago)Tried to rent a property, but the Lettings Negotiator was unable to prepare the Tenancy Agreement in a timely manner, and even then expected us to give notice on our current tenancy before signing the new tenancy agreement with them. After missing the first cut-off date that we told them we would need to sign the tenancy agreement by, they then had another 4 weeks to prepare the tenancy agreement, but were once again unable to do so in a timely manner. The Lettings Negotiator blamed this on the landlord not replying to her emails. Did you not think to phone and find out an answer over the phone? The result is our tenancy application was declined. What an absolute waste of time this was. Thankfully, I have obtained details of the landlord and will be advising her of the true reasons for the continuous delays in this process that ultimately led to our applicaton being declined.<br><br>They use Homelet to run the reference checks, which took over 2 weeks to complete. This was also part of the delay. If you are self-employed or Homelet have to complete any manual human checks, then expect long delays. I sent multiple messages to Homelet and made multiple phone calls, but they did not reply to any of my messages. This is a service chosen by Robinsons, therefore Robinsons has to accept responsibility of the fact that Homelet is a very poor and slow service. I will never use any estate agents that uses the Homelet service in the future.

Sadly I had to withdraw my home from sale due to personal circumstances and they were so understanding. All staff were very professional throughout and more than helpful with general queries. I especially felt listened to by Emma who really guided me through the sales process regarding time frames and next steps. Emails were answered promptly, communication was clear and I felt reassured that the team managed our sale well throughout. A very successful outcome and a big thank you.

Carla is extremely good at her job, with advice and negotiation. I would recommend Hegarties at Houghton.

I paid a £150 holding deposit after being told the landlord had approved my application and that I would proceed as the tenant.<br><br>Only a few hours later, I was informed that the application had been rejected and the refund would be issued. The refund was not processed on time, forcing me to chase it daily with no proper communication or urgency. It was only returned after a full week of constant follow-ups.<br><br>Although the money was eventually refunded, the way this was handled was unacceptable, stressful, and shows a clear lack of professionalism and respect for tenants’ time and money. I would not use this agency again and strongly advise others to be cautious.

Picked up keys today and very happy with the purchase for the price I got it for - would 100% use them again for another purchase as they have a lot of good deals if you are looking to buy tenanted property.

It has been so nice to work with such down-to-earth estate agents who supported us throughout the entire process of selling and buying our home.<br><br>Viewings were always arranged in bulk bookings, which made everything much easier to manage. The team explained everything in simple terms, kept us informed every step of the way, and made what can be a stressful process as straightforward as possible.<br><br>I would highly recommend Pear to anyone looking to buy or sell a home. Now we just have the small matter of moving :) Thank you all for your hard work and support.

1st Feb 2020 (6 years ago)We found Your Move - Houghton-le-Spring to be a very professional and efficient estate agency. From first contact, the valuation, photography, brochure preparation, first viewing and receipt of an offer for full asking price took less than 3 weeks. Sales Manager Rachel Smiles was especially helpful in giving advice on content of the sales brochure and her friendly staff in arranging the 2 viewings by first interested party. We would highly recommend this agency to value and sell your property quickly at its true market value.

John and Victoria are extremely knowledgeable, and the service throughout the entire process was exceptional. They went above and beyond to support us through both the sale and conveyancing stages, offering expert advice and always responding so quickly!
