10th Apr 2026 (29 days ago)I had a very disappointing experience with Bourne Estate Agency. While everything was smooth during our stay at the property, the issues began after we vacated. We left the property on the agreed date, handed over the keys properly, and fulfilled all expectations set by both the landlord and the agency. However, it has now been nearly 3–4 months, and we have still not received our deposit back. We have repeatedly reached out via email to request updates and an estimated timeline, but have received little to no meaningful response. Most of the time, we only get automated replies stating that the concerned person is not in the office. This level of communication and lack of accountability is extremely frustrating. If someone is unavailable, there should be a proper system in place to handle tenant concerns this is not something tenants should have to deal with. As per UK regulations, deposits should be returned within a reasonable timeframe after the tenancy ends, which has clearly not been the case here. Overall, I am very disappointed with how this situation has been handled. I would not recommend this agency based on my experience.

25th Apr 2026 (14 days ago)Claire and Sam are a fantastic team and did a brilliant job selling our house. We needed to sell quickly in order to secure the house we wanted and bw able to place a formal offer. They worked at speed, when I requested a valuation they respond immediately and launched our sale within a couple of weeks. Their service was first rate and included a pre launch video, a promotional video and an open day. We were able to secure our asking price, so our purchase could proceed. Their communication to us kept us fully informed throughout the process and all queries were dealt with in a timely manner. On a personal level we found Claire and Sam lovely professional people to deal with and they were always focused on delivery of great customer service. We highly recommend them.

This agency gives the impression of being helpful and supportive, but in reality they are misleading, unresponsive, and only focused on their commission. They make promises they don’t keep and seem to have little genuine interest in the buyer’s situation. I would strongly advise others to stay away and choose a more trustworthy agency.

The viewing and offer process was good with some advice on how best to present the property for prospective buyers. While our whole move was not straight forward, Jo kept us well informed at all stages, and was able to help us stay on course when we ran into issues. Over all - a good experience, and professional engagement. 25th Mar 2026 (6 weeks ago)I was a tenant for over five and a half years. For the vast majority of that time (over five years), the property was managed by a different agent, and my experience during that period was consistently positive. In the final few months of my tenancy, the landlord changed managing agents to Chelton Brown, and unfortunately the experience changed significantly. During my tenancy, my rent was always paid in full and on time, and I took care to maintain the property throughout. I also contributed towards improvements, including new carpets, which reflected what I believed was a positive working relationship. However, the experience at the end of the tenancy was disappointing. After providing formal notice in December and vacating at the end of February, communication regarding my deposit was slow and unclear. It took two weeks to receive a breakdown of proposed deductions, with responses often taking a week or more. Throughout my tenancy, the property was inspected regularly and consistently reported as being in good condition. Given this, the delays and lack of clarity at the end of the tenancy were particularly frustrating. While the matter was eventually resolved, the process felt unnecessarily prolonged and lacked the level of professionalism I had experienced previously. A property business may focus on landlords and sales, but it is worth remembering that tenants are an essential part of that relationship. Without tenants, there is no income to manage. With clearer communication and more timely handling of deposit returns, the experience for tenants could be significantly improved.

I’ve found Sam and Rhys in particular very personable and professional. Buying and selling in a sales chain was a new experience for me, and I felt Aby managed everyone’s expectations well. I’d definitely go back to Jackson Grundy when we come to sell (hopefully not for many years yet!). We’re beyond grateful for their help.
