15th Jun 2026 (20 days ago)We withdrew from a purchase through Cheffins after what became an increasingly pressured and unprofessional experience.<br><br>Throughout the transaction we felt repeatedly pushed for mortgage and solicitor updates beyond what was reasonable, including requests to contact our mortgage advisor directly. At the same time, important due diligence issues we raised — including arranging further builder access and investigating legal concerns relating to access land — were either delayed or met with pressure to proceed within arbitrary deadlines.<br><br>The final straw was being given a 24-hour ultimatum alongside an exchange deadline before outstanding legal concerns had been properly resolved. Our solicitor had identified issues requiring further investigation, yet we were still being pushed aggressively toward exchange.<br><br>Buying a property is stressful enough without feeling pressured or spoken down to. We were proceedable, financially strong buyers acting in good faith, but ultimately decided to withdraw and pursue another property where the process would be handled more professionally and collaboratively.<br><br>Would not recommend this agent and would never use again.

Both on the purchase and rental side they have always kept me informed of opportunities and been on the front foot keeping me in mind. A special mention to Ed Russell whose help and advice and general availability for a chat have been brilliant and much appreciated

From start to finish they took a planned and methodical approach to the whole process rather than just snapping some pictures and bunging it on rightmove and that be it. Chris always kept us in the loop and was happy enough to pick up the phone rather than just hide behind sending emails whether it was good news or bad. If we ever decide to move again I'd happily go with them (the feeling may not be mutual ??????)- 20th May 2026 (7 weeks ago)Don't bother to clean up too much, no matter how hard you try they will still charge you hundreds of pounds. After living at one of their properties for just 6 months, I handed over the house as clean as I got it but they still charged me £560 for deep cleaning. Very disappointed I DON'T RECOMMEND IT!

They had someone in mind when I instructed them and in fact a sale was agreed before it even went on to the market! Their sales progressor was then invaluable in making sure the process made it through to completion.

Megan McFarlane was incredibly helpful and assisted me throughout, from the initial enquiry right through to moving in. Communication was always prompt and professional. Highly recommend Abbotts and Megan in particular — a truly seamless letting experience.

They have managed my properties with efficiency and fairness whilst always having time to discuss issues with me. 2nd Jun 2026 (5 weeks ago)STAY CLEAR, THEY WILL TRY AND KEEP YOUR MONEY. 0 STARS I had a very disappointing experience with Vintage Shore when attempting to rent a property through them. After initially being accepted, I was informed that I had failed referencing because I had allegedly misrepresented my income on my application. As a self-employed individual, I had accurately stated my earnings and was surprised to be accused of providing false information. To challenge their decision and recover my holding deposit, I provided extensive evidence, including bank statements and transaction records, clearly demonstrating my income. Despite this, they continued to insist that I had failed referencing because I had “lied” on my application. What I find most concerning is that it was only after I mentioned pursuing legal action that their position suddenly changed. My deposit was refunded, and it became clear that I had not lied on my application at all. This suggests that the issue may have originated from their referencing process rather than anything I had done. The whole experience was stressful, time-consuming, and could have been handled much more professionally. Based on my experience, I would advise prospective tenants to keep thorough records and carefully challenge any decisions they believe are incorrect. Another aspect of my experience that I found disappointing was the level of customer service I received. During one phone call, I spoke with a member of staff who came across as extremely rude, dismissive, and arrogant. I challenged his attitude during the conversation because I felt it was completely unprofessional. I later raised my concerns with another member of staff, explaining how I had been treated. Rather than addressing the issue directly, I was told that it was a “cultural difference.” In my view, this is not a valid excuse. Regardless of cultural background, customers should be treated with respect and professionalism. Being rude to a customer is not acceptable, and I found the response to my complaint just as disappointing as the original interaction.

Sophie was excellent at keeping me informed throughout and worked against the clock to ensure I could move in as quickly as possible. I’d recommend their services.
