15th Jun 2026 (20 days ago)We withdrew from a purchase through Cheffins after what became an increasingly pressured and unprofessional experience.<br><br>Throughout the transaction we felt repeatedly pushed for mortgage and solicitor updates beyond what was reasonable, including requests to contact our mortgage advisor directly. At the same time, important due diligence issues we raised — including arranging further builder access and investigating legal concerns relating to access land — were either delayed or met with pressure to proceed within arbitrary deadlines.<br><br>The final straw was being given a 24-hour ultimatum alongside an exchange deadline before outstanding legal concerns had been properly resolved. Our solicitor had identified issues requiring further investigation, yet we were still being pushed aggressively toward exchange.<br><br>Buying a property is stressful enough without feeling pressured or spoken down to. We were proceedable, financially strong buyers acting in good faith, but ultimately decided to withdraw and pursue another property where the process would be handled more professionally and collaboratively.<br><br>Would not recommend this agent and would never use again.
6th May 2026 (9 weeks ago)As a buying agent I’ve had regular contact with Jackson’s in Newmarket over the last few years and I have found them a pleasure to deal with. Both on the purchase and rental side they have always kept me informed of opportunities and been on the front foot keeping me in mind. A special mention to Ed Russell whose help and advice and general availability for a chat have been brilliant and much appreciated- 20th May 2026 (7 weeks ago)Don't bother to clean up too much, no matter how hard you try they will still charge you hundreds of pounds. After living at one of their properties for just 6 months, I handed over the house as clean as I got it but they still charged me £560 for deep cleaning. Very disappointed I DON'T RECOMMEND IT!

28th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)Our experience trying to sell our property with William H Brown was extremely disappointing and ultimately quite disastrous. Before we signed with them, the team were highly proactive in their communication and sales pitch. We were promised consistent outreach to potential buyers, regular updates, detailed analytics, and valuable insights throughout the sales process. Unfortunately, the reality after signing the contract was completely different. Communication quickly became poor and reactive rather than proactive. We repeatedly found ourselves having to chase the team for updates and manually intervene to ensure viewers were actually being followed up with after property visits. In several cases, it appeared that little-to-no meaningful follow-up had been carried out unless we specifically requested it. There also seemed to be a lack of organisation and visibility around prospective buyers. The team often appeared unsure about where leads were in their decision-making process, whether further conversations had taken place, or what objections buyers may have had. This left us feeling as though there was no clear sales strategy or ownership of the process. Given the fees involved, we expected a far more professional, engaged, and proactive service. Instead, we were left feeling frustrated, unsupported, and lacking confidence that our property sale was being managed effectively. In the end, after a few months with WHB and no real leads for the sale of our house, we ended up going with another local estate agents who sold our house within a month. Overall, we would not recommend William H Brown based on our experience.

15th May 2026 (7 weeks ago)We recently had the issue of trying to sell a piece of land in Framlingham which had full planning permission but was curtailed with a Unilateral Undertaking with ESCC. Oliver Johnson, a Director of Clarke and Simpson, could not have been more helpful. He navigated us through the intricacies of planning, found a buyer and when our solicitor, Ross Coates, was closed down, he found us a new solicitor who rapidly concluded the sale. Oliver`s handling throughout could not be faulted. His communication skills and support were amazing with immediate e-mail and telephone responses. Without the knowledge and contacts that Clarke and Simpson have, I doubt that we should have sold the land, let alone advertised it. A definite rewarding experience for us. Michelle was incredible in making sure filling out the paperwork was super easy. Any questions I had were answered right away and I had absolutely zero problems. They made everything straightforward and stress-free, keeping me updated at every stage and ensuring the move went as smoothly as possible. 2nd Jun 2026 (5 weeks ago)STAY CLEAR, THEY WILL TRY AND KEEP YOUR MONEY. 0 STARS I had a very disappointing experience with Vintage Shore when attempting to rent a property through them. After initially being accepted, I was informed that I had failed referencing because I had allegedly misrepresented my income on my application. As a self-employed individual, I had accurately stated my earnings and was surprised to be accused of providing false information. To challenge their decision and recover my holding deposit, I provided extensive evidence, including bank statements and transaction records, clearly demonstrating my income. Despite this, they continued to insist that I had failed referencing because I had “lied” on my application. What I find most concerning is that it was only after I mentioned pursuing legal action that their position suddenly changed. My deposit was refunded, and it became clear that I had not lied on my application at all. This suggests that the issue may have originated from their referencing process rather than anything I had done. The whole experience was stressful, time-consuming, and could have been handled much more professionally. Based on my experience, I would advise prospective tenants to keep thorough records and carefully challenge any decisions they believe are incorrect. Another aspect of my experience that I found disappointing was the level of customer service I received. During one phone call, I spoke with a member of staff who came across as extremely rude, dismissive, and arrogant. I challenged his attitude during the conversation because I felt it was completely unprofessional. I later raised my concerns with another member of staff, explaining how I had been treated. Rather than addressing the issue directly, I was told that it was a “cultural difference.” In my view, this is not a valid excuse. Regardless of cultural background, customers should be treated with respect and professionalism. Being rude to a customer is not acceptable, and I found the response to my complaint just as disappointing as the original interaction.

They were incredibly understanding of the challenges we faced in finding a landlord willing to accept a tenant receiving benefits. Throughout the process, they were supportive, respectful, and non-discriminatory, something we unfortunately did not experience with some other agents in the area. A special thanks to Andrew, who was our main point of contact. Your understanding and compassionate approach was truly refreshing.

He handled all viewings, generated lots of interest and then was actively engaged and always there to help post-sale too, right the way to completion. I definitely would recommend to anyone.
