22nd Jan 2026 (7 mo. ago)The whole team at Arkwright’s in Saffron Walden have been a joy to work with. From initial contact, to the sales details - including a very inventive video, made on the only rainy day for weeks and weeks with a ‘Singing in the rain’ sound track! l had several viewings in the first week and an agreed sale within around 2 weeks ( after having been with another agent for 4 months with no viewings at all) The whole process has been easy, efficient, profession, respectful and friendly. I would highly recommend them and especially if you have a slightly quirky property. Thanks to all.- 20th May 2026 (14 weeks ago)Don't bother to clean up too much, no matter how hard you try they will still charge you hundreds of pounds. After living at one of their properties for just 6 months, I handed over the house as clean as I got it but they still charged me £560 for deep cleaning. Very disappointed I DON'T RECOMMEND IT!

I honestly couldn't fault them. Particularly Katie, who realised how worried I was about a number of things, and has been a friendly and helpful voice during some stressful times.

4th Aug 2026 (20 days ago)Louise Mooyer has been brilliant in handling my urgent request re a repair. I reported the issue at my rented property on Sunday and on Monday, Louise arranged for the contractor to come out and complete the repair as urgent. She kept me posted throughout. Louise has shown kindness, thoughtfulness and more importantly paid attention to my request as without the repair it would be a safety issue. Thank you Louise and all the best.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
