The commutation was great, via phone calls and emails.<br>I want to give my credits to the 3 people that walked this journey with us, Mark, James and Paige, these trios are great team, even when we had challenges during the course of our transaction, we were represented well and presented our case professionally. Guided us through out the journey as a first time buyer.<br><br>Massive thank you Chandlers.

20th Oct 2025 (1 year ago)Used Ashtons as was a prospective buyer of a property they marketed. Not so many issues with the office but the sales progression team were always quite slow to respond and could never get through to the assigned person to my case. Additionally used ashtons to sell my property and I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience. The problems began immediately. The agency provided an initial valuation to secure our business in July, only to suggest a £25,000 price reduction after just one week, admitting there was no interest. Despite agreeing to the reduction, it did not correlate to an increase in activity which would lead to questions around marketing and resource as Ashtons list a lot of properties. By September, they had only managed to secure two viewings. We received absolutely no feedback from either of these viewings, despite requesting it, leaving us completely in the dark. Lastly thier fees are quite opaque and if youre new to selling read through everything very carefully. In the non flex fees there are baked in withdrawal fees that ensure ashtons get paid regardless if they sell or not. Which gives them little incentive to really push your property in my opinion. The alternative is you pay money up front to them to sell your property which is preposterous. Fundamentally all the agents use rightmove to market your property and that's where most people go to find houses. In summary: an inaccurate valuation, negligible effort, a complete lack of communication, and a devious fee structure designed to charge you even when they fail to perform.
12th Aug 2026 (11 weeks ago)1 star. I used Lane and Bennett to let and manage my property and would not use them again.<br><br>Communication was the first problem. I was constantly chasing them for updates and rarely got them without pushing. When they found new tenants I had to chase repeatedly just to find out whether the tenant had actually moved in. Getting hold of them by phone was a job in itself, as calls frequently went unanswered.<br><br>Throughout the tenancy there was a steady stream of maintenance issues, and on nearly every one I was steered towards their own contractors rather than being given a genuine choice. Tiles were cracked and it took repeated chasing over a long period before I was reimbursed.<br><br>The handover back to me was the worst of it. The property was returned filthy. The garden was unkept, the front driveway was unkept, there were burn marks in the carpets, the carpets had not been cleaned, and furniture was damaged. I had been charged for an inventory, yet none of this was properly recorded in it. An inventory that fails to capture obvious damage offers a landlord no protection at all.<br><br>The overall experience was of an agent that collected its fees, did not keep me informed, did not look after the property, and did not act in the landlord's interest. If you are a landlord considering them, be prepared to get your property back in a materially worse condition than you handed it over, and to do most of the chasing yourself.

"oh, we had one viewer at the weekend, think he's going to make an offer, don't think you'll be able to view it - we'll let you know". They really said this! I'm glad I'm not the Vendor.

27th Sep 2026 (30 days ago)Michael Graham have gone above and beyond in helping our family find a new home, and sell our home.<br><br>They sold our house to us originally so we went back to them when we wanted to sell and move.<br><br>Phil, Liz, Pam, Jaqs, Caroline, Daniel - everyone we dealt with at the Hitchin office were very professional, honest, knowledgeable, responsive and always lovely to deal with.<br><br>It’s been a long journey for us trying to sell our house, with the backdrop of a turbulent economy and booming house prices in Hitchin, but they stuck with us, and remained patient, even when we weren’t! We never felt like we were being sold to, and always felt as though the service and advice we were given was personal and specific to us.<br><br>Phil and Liz provided us with a lot of extra market information, beyond what they needed to, in a very consultative way.<br><br>Daniel, Pam and Jaqs were excellent at showing people round our house, always arriving early for the appointments and really taking the time to know all the small facts about the house so they could give the best viewings. Caroline was brilliant at keeping the sale transaction moving along, letting nothing sit still for too long.<br><br>I can’t recommend Phil and his team enough, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

10th May 2022 (4 years ago)1st Choice a friendly family run business always maintained excellent communication which I really liked, if I had any problem weekday, weekend, or on a holiday, Kelly would reply back to my messages for support very quickly and same day. When I moved in to the property it was fully refurbished to an excellent standard. One time during winter I had a problem with my boiler with no heating for a few days. I made one call to 1st Choice and Mark dropped off some electric heaters, untill we got it fixed through Mear's. Anyone looking for property to rent then I would definatley recommend 1st Choice.
18th Sep 2026 (6 weeks ago)I honestly couldn’t recommend Linzi highly enough! I met with five different estate agents before deciding who to go with, and Linzi stood out by far. I was advised to go with one of the bigger chains, but from the first meeting, Linzi felt so much more personable, genuine and honest. I immediately felt comfortable with her and knew I was making the right choice. My property sold within just 48 hours of going on the market, which was amazing in itself! I also asked if I could take my own photos for the listing, and Linzi was completely accommodating. Throughout the whole process, pretty much anything I asked for, she did everything she could to help. The sale became a little complicated along the way, but Linzi went above and beyond, including communicating with the solicitors and helping to keep everything moving. She was always approachable, helpful and reassuring, and I genuinely felt like she cared about getting the best outcome for me rather than just making a sale. Selling a property can be stressful, but having someone you trust makes such a difference. I’m so glad I went with Linzi rather than one of the larger chains. Five agents later, and there was absolutely no competition — Linzi was the best by far! Thank you so much for everything, Linzi. I really appreciate all your help and would 100% recommend you to anyone looking to sell their property!- 27th Aug 2026 (9 weeks ago)I was very pleased with the standard of service that I received from Putterills in WGC. They recently managed the sale of my late mother’s property in what has been a difficult market, with great professionalism and commitment. They were very pleasant to deal with and communication was good throughout the process. The fact that we eventually achieved a sum well over the asking price was an added bonus!
