16th Sep 2026 (6 weeks ago)We were asked to leave a review for our experience with Lancasters on the day we picked up the keys. I did not feel like I could without retaliation while the tenancy was active. We primarily dealt with Daniel White and the agency's managing director, Kevin Crossfield.<br><br>We had a viewing where we were verbally informed the works on the house would be completed. They were not by the time we picked the keys up. Photos attached: incomplete works, visible debris, carpet still covered in plastic to protect from works, ladder left behind in a room, food rubbish still left in the fridge etc. The property needed hours of deep-clean by ourselves. On raising concerns, we were initially met with an understanding of the situation and an assurance to fix this quickly.<br><br>Nearly a month later of constant inspections for remedial work, constant emails, many phone calls of escalation, and formal complaint we managed to get into a position to be able to live in the house. We were told we couldn't cancel the tenancy as it is a fixed tenancy and so it was too late. We were then told it was our fault for wanting to move in on the date we wanted. We were also told we knew what the property looked like on viewing despite clear assurance the works would be completed prior. We were also blamed for being unreasonable that the property had only minor issues, despite the pictures attached. A whole month of rent felt wasteful.<br><br>We were also repeatedly informed that as agents they were only able to act on what the landlords can authorise, which is understandable but they were continuing to take commission from our rent hence also responsible.<br><br>Further problems with the house through the tenancy included: a delayed response to replacing an internal smoke alarm (1 month), a completely missed expired gas certificate where we were contacted nearly a month after the expiration to set a date at which point we had a response a month later to this. At this point we decided to move out and not continue to be involved further.<br><br>Any further evidence to this review would be available as they have all been neatly organised.<br><br>Update: I have noted the reply from Lancasters. The pictures speak a thousand words. This post is to warn other potential customers. I would genuinely avoid this company. It was an incredibly stressful renting process and we were treated very poorly. Things only improved slightly following involvement of the property redress scheme, who was also quite unhelpful overall.

Things weren’t so straightforward but they ensured we had regular updates and made sure our house sale and purchase was completed. Maria even went over and above and drove documents to Sheffield to ensure we exchanged on the right day. Thanks so much - we love our new home! ??????

The whole process was very easy and straightforward, and I’m so grateful that they gave me the opportunity to rent a property through them.<br><br>I had approached several other agencies before, and unfortunately, not all of them were as understanding or willing to give me a chance. That’s why I really appreciate the way Beecroft Estates handled my situation and made the process so much less stressful.<br><br>A special thank you to Georgia Frodsham, who was incredibly helpful, understanding and professional throughout the process. She made everything feel much easier and was always there to help when I needed it.<br><br>I’m genuinely very grateful for the opportunity and for the support I received. The whole team has been professional, friendly, and always quick to help with anything we’ve needed. A special mention has to go to Debbie, who has been absolutely wonderful throughout. She is warm, approachable, and genuinely cares about making everything as smooth and stress-free as possible. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her, and her kindness and professionalism really stand out. 13th Oct 2026 (14 days ago)?????<br><br>Where do we even begin!<br><br>My partner and I recently sold our property through Hughes, and what a rollercoaster of a journey it's been! Through absolutely no fault of Hughes, our experience of buying and selling has certainly had its fair share of ups and downs.<br><br>It all started when we found our first potential home, only to have our offer rejected. The same thing happened with the second property, but thankfully, it was third time lucky!<br><br>Throughout this process, Lewis was incredibly patient, supportive and reassuring, always reminding us that the right property would come along for us and our family. And he was right!<br><br>Fast forward to the day before completion, and what should have been an exciting time turned into our worst nightmare when our buyers pulled out. Rachel worked tirelessly to get everything back on track, going above and beyond to help save our move. I genuinely cannot thank her enough for her determination, hard work and support during what was an incredibly stressful time.<br><br>Even on completion day, the challenges weren't quite over! The property we were purchasing hadn't been fully cleared, with numerous belongings still left behind. Danielle stepped in and communicated with our buyers, explaining the situation and why we hadn't been able to completely empty our own property.<br><br>What really stood out to us was that, whenever another problem arose, there was always someone at Hughes willing to help, reassure us and find a solution.<br><br>I'd like to say a massive personal thank you to Lewis, Rachel, Danielle and the entire Hughes team.
