17th Apr 2026 (12 weeks ago)Beware when your purchaser takes out a mortgage through your estate agent Would like to give zero but not allowed . In my opinion Ashbourne Bagshaws Residential protected a so called ‘hot buyer ‘ to the detriment of my sale. Helen (manager) lied to my face and said sale was going well . All the while she knew the so called ‘buyer’ had no mortgage or buildings regulations for a conversion ie not proceedable . Nor even had they 5 weeks later carried out the security checks for conveyance . I lost property after property . This is now a law suit and far from me being a tricky vendor the purchaser were not proceedable at that time. Over 4 months later l withdrew as still no Exchange . Connells the owner of Bagshaws Residential were willing to completely forget their duty to me in favour of this so called hot buyer . They were happy to let this go on month after month until the purchaser was able to proceed. In my opinion it is dishonest to favour a buyer because they were purchasing their mortgage through Connells .

From start to finish, Lisa went above and beyond to guide me through the process, staying professional and supportive, even with the unexpected delays. I truly believe the sale wouldn’t have completed without her efforts. Lisa’s communication was excellent, keeping me informed at every stage. I’m so grateful for all her help and would highly recommend her and the team.
26th Jun 2026 (11 days ago)We have purchased two properties through this estate agent (with one purchase still ongoing) and unfortunately the experience has been disappointing!<br>Communication within the office staff has been very poor, and it often felt like staff were not communicating with each other. When our solicitors experienced delays, we were repeatedly threatened that the properties ( both of them) would be put back on the market, despite this never actually happening! This created unnecessary stress during an already demanding process.<br><br>In addition, both surveying companies we used commented on the difficulties they had communicating with this estate agent, which suggests our experience was not an isolated one.<br><br>While we appreciate that an estate agent acts on behalf of the seller, we felt there was very little effort to facilitate the process for the buyer or keep everyone informed. Overall, the lack of communication and the way issues were handled made what should have been an exciting experience far more frustrating than it needed to be.

1st Oct 2024 (1 year ago)Would recommend the team here. They were patient, responsive to my needs and very professional. Julie Burdett and Nicola Clegg were particularly helpful with my transaction and supported well by Julie Gomersall when Nicola went on maternity leave. Claire Midgley was also great as a post sale progressor. Despite us and our sellers doing a lot of the communicating directly (through our sellers choice) she was very helpful, attentive, efficient and knowledgeable when I needed her. All round a great personal service and I have recommended them to a number of friends, family and colleagues.

His communication style when arranging viewings and giving feedback was excellent, and he made dealing with, what can be a stressful life event, much smoother to navigate. There were quite a few complications along the way, but Maddie handled everything professionally, kept us updated, and was always there to help and reassure us. During all this time Lorna has always been extremely helpful and knowledgable guiding me in the right direction. When I sold my rental property it came with many problems which Lorna overcame with hard work and good advice. Her communication was always first class. I would highly recommend as her work ethic is second to none

27th Jun 2026 (10 days ago)We had an amazing experience with JR Properties! Hayley and James were absolutely outstanding. We’d found our dream home and needed to get ours on the market quickly. Estimate, photos, on the market, viewings and then sold all within 5 days, you couldn’t ask for more! Throughout the whole process there was excellent communication, updates and they were only an email or call away. Thank you so much, we couldn’t recommend you enough! ??????
30th Jun 2026 (7 days ago)The most useless estate agents ever!<br><br>I would rather put the house up for sale on Facebook marketplace!<br><br>Their sales manager would not stop phoning and texting me to get the listing with them.<br><br>Once they got the listing the communication died. I heard nothing from them in regards to viewings interests or nothing.<br><br>Until 1 month later asking if they csn have the key to the house. Even though they have had the key for a year as the property was up for sale with them the year before until it had to be taken off market due to an accident.<br><br>Once I told them they have they key already they then proceeded to say they couldn't get in the house the key doesnt work.<br><br>A potential buyer phoned up to book a viewing but was told that they dont have the key but would ring them back to organise a viewing. 1 week later still no contact with the potential buyer.<br><br>Luckily we had a duel agency which was Dourish & Day. The buy phoned dourish and day who got them to view the property. They made a bid which was accepted and within 7 weeks the house sold and completed thanks to Dourish & Day who were incredible in terms of communication and letting us know on every potential interest and viewing before the property sold.<br><br>If it wasnt for Dourish and Day we would have lost that potential sale.<br><br>I then got a call from their sales team asking if we wanted to put the property up for sale with them! I was gobsmacked!<br><br>Tried to get intouch with Connells about picking up the key they had so I could give to the new buyers but nothing back for over a month. I decided to turn up to the house my self to pick it up!<br><br>The most useless estate agents and staff ever! I would rather put the house up for sale on Facebook Market than Connells
25th Mar 2026 (15 weeks ago)Update: Maybe I left a low score review because I experienced extremely poor service from your Stafford branch & maybe I didn't leave any comments because I didn't want any further contact as I gave you plenty of opportunities at the time to resolve any issues which you failed to do. Thank you for taking the time to reply but looking at your previous responses to other disgruntled customers, you appear to be not the best at taking criticism nor accepting poor performance on your part. Good day to you.
4th Mar 2026 (18 weeks ago)I had mixed personal reviews prior to my contacting Dourish and Day but I will NOT using them to sell my property as I'm appalled at the "it's not my job" attitude. I will be contacting the estate agency that sold my parents bungalow as they were proactive and cheaper fees! They refused to let myself, or my property agency, know the date/times of Dourish and Day availability for a valuation so an appointment could be arranged with my tenant. They also refused to make ONE phone call and contact the tenant directly as Dourish and Day had misunderstood what my tenant had said upon initial contact. My agent informed me that they have tried making contact but are awaiting a response from Dourish and Day which Dourish and Day have denied. When I requested an update this is the response "We will not move forward until they call us with the tenants availability for us to attend as it is their responsibility to clear things with them."
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!- 29th May 2026 (6 weeks ago)Claire, Claire, Claire… what can we say? Claire Midgley was our rock throughout a very long and difficult conveyancing process. Working in the industry myself, I can certainly recognise a special agent when I see one and she certainly is a true credit to Dourish & Day. She listened to me rant (probably like a broken record at times) , offered advice and promised me she would chase and subsequently update me… and true to her word she was every single time!! To get the good news call from her personally today was the icing on the cake for me & my partner. Thank you so much Claire for all your help throughout, we appreciate you hugely ??????

Having had used previously another well known high street agent, Mike was certainly a breath of fresh air during what is usually a stressful time.
