A special mention to Paul, Lloyd and Jack in particular as we had the most dealings with these lovely agents. 15th Apr 2026 (23 days ago)If I could give zero I would! I’d never rent via Ayers ever again and would never recommend to anyone! The branch in Southend on sea has some very rude staff with no people skills! We rented a flat that had been newly done up on the understanding that there was no issues with it… on the day we moved in there was noticeable water damage to a wall in the main bedroom which we immediately called the office they sent out a builder who told us there was water damage to the external wall and to draw round it with a pen! Over that year we reported more and more problems where we got sent a builder who kept saying we will talk to the landlord but nothing got done! The landlord took over £400 from our deposit because of this issue and over a month after we handed the keys back we’ve been hit with another bill that isn’t our fault and to make it worse it was an email not even a phone call! Overall your staff are rude and don't know how to communicate or even do their jobs correctly! As someone who has rented through a couple of different estate agents I am deeply disappointed, angered and disgusted with how we are being dealt with!

14th Apr 2026 (24 days ago)We haven't had to go through the nightmare of moving house for over forty years but we survived the emotional roller coaster this time round thanks to Stanton Hockett. Not easy for two eighty year olds I must admit who simply want to go live near their daughter up north! We approached the move with trepidation but their approach from the outset was totally re-assuring and empathetic. Tom started the ball rolling with his no fuss approach and we then graduated to the big guns, Brad & Gavin, after they found us a young couple to buy our treasured family home. They might have been a dating agency so suited to us were our young buyers. As apparently often occurs our journey through the legal processes to exchange and completion took us between peaks of elation to valleys of frustrated despair and back again but they were there to support us when we needed it. Thank you Tom and Lewis, thank you Gavin and most of all thank you Brad for your impeccable service to us in the sales progression stage. We are on our way now and feeling a whole lot better about our future.
