16th Sep 2026 (6 weeks ago)We were asked to leave a review for our experience with Lancasters on the day we picked up the keys. I did not feel like I could without retaliation while the tenancy was active. We primarily dealt with Daniel White and the agency's managing director, Kevin Crossfield.<br><br>We had a viewing where we were verbally informed the works on the house would be completed. They were not by the time we picked the keys up. Photos attached: incomplete works, visible debris, carpet still covered in plastic to protect from works, ladder left behind in a room, food rubbish still left in the fridge etc. The property needed hours of deep-clean by ourselves. On raising concerns, we were initially met with an understanding of the situation and an assurance to fix this quickly.<br><br>Nearly a month later of constant inspections for remedial work, constant emails, many phone calls of escalation, and formal complaint we managed to get into a position to be able to live in the house. We were told we couldn't cancel the tenancy as it is a fixed tenancy and so it was too late. We were then told it was our fault for wanting to move in on the date we wanted. We were also told we knew what the property looked like on viewing despite clear assurance the works would be completed prior. We were also blamed for being unreasonable that the property had only minor issues, despite the pictures attached. A whole month of rent felt wasteful.<br><br>We were also repeatedly informed that as agents they were only able to act on what the landlords can authorise, which is understandable but they were continuing to take commission from our rent hence also responsible.<br><br>Further problems with the house through the tenancy included: a delayed response to replacing an internal smoke alarm (1 month), a completely missed expired gas certificate where we were contacted nearly a month after the expiration to set a date at which point we had a response a month later to this. At this point we decided to move out and not continue to be involved further.<br><br>Any further evidence to this review would be available as they have all been neatly organised.<br><br>Update: I have noted the reply from Lancasters. The pictures speak a thousand words. This post is to warn other potential customers. I would genuinely avoid this company. It was an incredibly stressful renting process and we were treated very poorly. Things only improved slightly following involvement of the property redress scheme, who was also quite unhelpful overall.

8th Dec 2024 (1 year ago)We had a mixed experience with Preston Baker. We chose them for their reviews online and at first contact with the Doncaster office they were quick to reply and tried moving our sale along promptly. Then our agent suddenly stopped communicating and when we tried contacting them we found out she had left but no one informed us. This happened a couple of times. Our house was eventually assigned to Terry Burrows (Leeds office) and she was good to us. She took care of our sale for almost a year until the end, even after two potential buyers dropped off and issues with the house made our sale more complicated. Sadly by then the market had changed and we weren’t able to sell for the value we had hoped for. Not sure if I would recommend the Doncaster office. I would recommend Terry for sure. (Terry, if you are reading this thank you for persevering with us and for helping us get a decent price in a difficult selling process)

From our first meeting, Katie was professional, positive, honest and incredibly knowledgeable. Her valuation was backed by detailed market research and a really clear rationale and she got it absolutely spot-on. Our house attracted huge interest immediately and sold at asking price within just four days.<br><br>Katie kept us informed throughout, from photography and marketing to viewing feedback, offers and the performance of our listing across Rightmove and OnTheMarket. Everything was transparent and clearly explained.<br><br>Selling while returning to work after adoption leave could have been overwhelming, but Katie was a constant, reassuring presence: responsive, encouraging and completely committed. By the end, she felt like a genuine cheerleader in our corner. The wider team were equally well-informed, which says a lot about Blundells’ culture.<br><br>Katie is an exceptional agent with a very bright future ahead of her. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone selling their home.

Outstanding support when things got difficult I first contacted Reeds Rains – previously at 16-18 Moorgate Street, now at Wickersley Rotherham in March 2024 to help me find a flat. From the start, I was told the landlord would manage the property. I thought it would make no difference whether it was managed by the agent or landlord, but it turned out to be a terrible experience all through my stay of over two years. What impressed me most was that the team stood by me from beginning to end, even when issues arose over my deposit. They guided me step-by-step and helped me successfully recover my full deposit plus overpaid rent — something I could not have done without their support. A special mention for Abby — even though she is no longer with the company, her hard work, resilience and dedication were truly noticed and appreciated. I also want to say the Accounts Department was absolutely amazing — efficient, helpful and always there when I needed them. Thank you to every member of the team. I couldn't remember names, the branch manager and other staff members was brilliant. You turned a very stressful situation around and showed real care for your tenants. I highly recommend this office.

Above expectations they took the stress away handled my house sale their experience.in the field 5 star Also what I found Georgina is very approachable professional she and Bartons work 100 % to get your house Sold. Roy the guy that takes the viewers round your house is great as I have cameras was able to see what was happening and he gives viewers the information he knows about your property and he a salesman who tries to point out all the good things which helps with the Sale whilst be very productive with pushing the house forward above all great at his Job.

She made the whole process of getting started really straightforward.<br><br>Karen was equally brilliant throughout the sale, keeping me updated, answering any questions and helping keep things moving along.<br><br>There were a few challenges along the way, but the team were always friendly, professional and helpful.<br><br>A big thank you to Emily, Karen and the rest of the team for all their help. The whole process was very easy and straightforward, and I’m so grateful that they gave me the opportunity to rent a property through them.<br><br>I had approached several other agencies before, and unfortunately, not all of them were as understanding or willing to give me a chance. However, I firmly believe it would have taken a lot longer if Lincoln Ralph had not proactively frequently liaised with all parties involved to push the process on to a satisfactory conclusion. 13th Oct 2026 (14 days ago)?????<br><br>Where do we even begin!<br><br>My partner and I recently sold our property through Hughes, and what a rollercoaster of a journey it's been! Through absolutely no fault of Hughes, our experience of buying and selling has certainly had its fair share of ups and downs.<br><br>It all started when we found our first potential home, only to have our offer rejected. The same thing happened with the second property, but thankfully, it was third time lucky!<br><br>Throughout this process, Lewis was incredibly patient, supportive and reassuring, always reminding us that the right property would come along for us and our family. And he was right!<br><br>Fast forward to the day before completion, and what should have been an exciting time turned into our worst nightmare when our buyers pulled out. Rachel worked tirelessly to get everything back on track, going above and beyond to help save our move. I genuinely cannot thank her enough for her determination, hard work and support during what was an incredibly stressful time.<br><br>Even on completion day, the challenges weren't quite over! The property we were purchasing hadn't been fully cleared, with numerous belongings still left behind. Danielle stepped in and communicated with our buyers, explaining the situation and why we hadn't been able to completely empty our own property.<br><br>What really stood out to us was that, whenever another problem arose, there was always someone at Hughes willing to help, reassure us and find a solution.<br><br>I'd like to say a massive personal thank you to Lewis, Rachel, Danielle and the entire Hughes team.
