We were kept updated throughout the sale and Lily helped us to chase and push when things felt like they were stagnating. 11th Jan 2026 (9 weeks ago)I bought my house through Jan Foster Estate Agents over a year ago, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst and most stressful experiences of my life. What should have been an exciting milestone turned into an absolute nightmare because of the way this company operates and, in particular, because of the behaviour of Ashley, the agent I dealt with. From the very beginning, Ashley was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He spoke to me in a condescending manner, showed no patience, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a client making one of the biggest purchases of my life. Simple questions were met with attitude, poor communication, or no response at all. At times, he was outright disrespectful, which is completely unacceptable in any profession, let alone estate agency. Communication throughout the process was shocking. I was constantly left chasing for updates, clarification, and basic information that should have been provided without me having to beg for it. Deadlines were unclear, things were poorly explained, and I was often left feeling confused and stressed because no one seemed to care enough to do their job properly. Instead of being supported and guided, I felt ignored and brushed aside. Buying a home is supposed to be handled with professionalism, respect, and care. Unfortunately, that was entirely missing here. The stress, anxiety, and frustration I went through could have been avoided if Ashley and Jan Foster Estate Agents had shown even a basic level of courtesy and competence. I would strongly advise anyone considering using Jan Foster Estate Agents to think twice. Based on my experience, they lack professionalism, respect for clients, and proper communication. I would never use this company again and would not recommend them to anyone. This experience left a lasting negative impression and completely took the joy out of buying my home.

We had quite a long sales process and David was on the phone to all parties helping to move things along where he could. We would fully recommend David.

They made you feel they trully cared about your sale. I have used other local estate agent but Mapps estate agents are in a league of their own. I wouldn’t use anyone else. Thank you to you all.

The process was very long winded based on delays with solicitors and Gareth was constantly in touch with us and trying to push it all along. Highly recommended!

As a firm they don’t simply rely on RightMove, but instead Monroe offer a wealth of potential buyers who they take the time to match with the right property. Communication has been excellent, with good commercial and supportive advice always available. Monroe took time to learn about our house and delivered continuity with both viewings and feedback. Once we had agreed a sale Monroe’s sales progression coordinator ensured that all solicitors in our chain were kept in the loop and that potential delays were unblocked by exceptional communication skills. Having used a number of estate agents over the years we have never had such an excellent service and enjoyable experience as we have with the team at Monroe. Sarah, our estate agent, was incredible from our first viewing right down to collecting the keys. She was informative, explaining everything so that we understood it and answered all our queries really quickly. She was always on the end of the phone whenever we needed any advice or to direct us to the right person. We didn’t feel any pressure, Sarah was super relaxed and friendly, and we’re really pleased we had her to help us purchase our first home!
