5th Aug 2026 (21 days ago)Salter Rex managed our block of seven flats for seven years. Throughout that time, in our experience, the building suffered from ongoing rodent infestations, the communal areas were in a terrible state, the communal front door could literally be pushed open if you leaned on it, there were serious security concerns, and the carpets had become trip hazards. The condition of the building was, in our opinion, completely unacceptable.<br><br>Over the years, the service charges increased to around £1,800 per flat, per year. There are seven flats in the building, so you do the maths. Whenever we questioned the charges or requested supporting invoices for the contractors, maintenance or cleaning that we were paying for through the service charge, we felt our concerns were dismissed and were instead met with threats of debt recovery or court action if payment wasn’t made.<br><br>About a year ago, one of the other leaseholders put a note through my tenants’ door asking to get in touch because they had also had enough. As all of our flats were tenanted, it was incredibly difficult to track each other down, but eventually we managed to make contact with every leaseholder.<br><br>Together, all seven leaseholders instructed a solicitor and exercised our legal Right to Manage. For anyone who doesn’t know, Right to Manage (RTM) is a legal process that allows qualifying leaseholders to take over the management of their building by forming their own RTM company. It took around a year, but we were successful.<br><br>We have now removed Salter Rex as our managing agent and taken control of our own building. We appoint our own contractors, decide how our service charge money is spent and invest it back into improving the building instead of paying excessive management fees.<br><br>To any leaseholders who have had a similar experience with Salter Rex, or any other managing agent, please don’t assume you’re stuck with them. Look into your Right to Manage. It is absolutely possible to remove your managing agent if the leaseholders work together. It takes time, patience and commitment, but I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made.<br><br>And finally, to Salter Rex: the way we felt we were treated over the last seven years was deeply disappointing. I genuinely don’t know how you sleep at night, but I do know one thing I sleep a lot better knowing my hard-earned money is no longer going into your pockets.<br><br>Peace & love.
4th Aug 2026 (22 days ago)Danish Ashraf Property Manager at Hamptons has supported me as Landlord to a rental property. I highly recommend Danish for various reasons.<br><br>He gets it ! I mean by default he strongly represents my interests as a Landlord.<br><br>He is imaginative and proactive with solutions to problems.<br><br>Shows he is experienced with his knowledge and thoroughness with all property matters.<br><br>He has never lost his cool - and circumstances at times, have been adverse.<br><br>His reputation obviously extends to the contractors we employ, as they evidently have a good relationship with him - a great benefit to a Landlord.<br><br>And finally he has a great sense of humour - you can get him to chuckle, even with the xxxx is hitting the fan !<br><br>You will be a lucky Landlord if Danish is your PM.

14th Aug 2025 (1 year ago)We put our house on the market in March, we decided on Barnard Marcus as their valuation was the highest (out of 3). Their initial contact was good and positive but after a couple of months they suggested we drop the price from 575k. To 500k, this was a huge drop and far from their valuation of 575-600k, although viewings continued they didn’t really give any updates or feedback so we ended our contract with them when the initial 20 weeks were complete.
31st May 2026 (12 weeks ago)I selected Dexters as I had bought the flat from them 8 years ago in Charlton and was impressed by the service I received from Demie and Maria. However the staff has completely changed since and it feels like it’s run by not so experienced people. Lot of communication errors , not following up on time . Many times I got a feeling my flat was not the priority and weekly calls felt like “tick in the box” calls where it was clearly apparent the agent was multitasking raffling papers in background while having conversation. No single point of contact who is selling the flat, being passed around agent to agent. It was evident that the communication within the team wasn’t there which affected the sale . I would not recommend dexters .

Communication was difficult and the overall service did not feel professional or customer-focused.<br><br>Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about using Amity Estates and would recommend considering other estate agents before making a decision.

He really took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and, importantly, what mattered to me in finding the right home. I genuinely felt listened to throughout the whole process.<br><br>He was incredibly professional, always friendly and an absolute pleasure to deal with. His communication was exceptional, emails were answered incredibly quickly, nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and most importantly, he got things done.<br><br>Reece ultimately matched us with what genuinely feels like the perfect home, and I couldn’t be happier. The whole experience was so much easier and more seamless than I expected it to be.<br><br>A huge thank you to Reece and everyone at Centro for looking after us so well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a genuinely professional, responsive and personal service.

24th Apr 2026 (18 weeks ago)I dealt with several of the team at Neil King and found them all extremely professional, patient and full of good advice throughout the year-long process of listing my property, relisting it after various offers fell through, showing dozens of viewers around and dealing with a lot of back-and-forth between me, my eventual buyer and our solicitors. In the end my property went for exactly what Neil thought it was worth. So if you're looking for an agency who actually know the most up-to-date market conditions specific to South Woodford, this is the right one. He was of course motivated to act in the best interests of the seller, but he was professional, polite, detail oriented and diligent in dealing with our questions and concerns in a timely manner. He’s a good communicator. Our solicitor was not. He was able to reassure, educate and guide us through the unfamiliar process. He was always helpful and diplomatic which we much appreciated in the high stress of buying a home.
