In what was a challenging market, Giselle Harrison and John Robinson were professional, personable and consistently kept me updated promptly with any new information. They were also excellent at staying in touch even when there was no particular news to impart, which was very reassuring throughout the process.<br>G had previously sold a property on my behalf around 15 years ago, so it was particularly nice to have a familiar face to work with again. Her knowledge and experience, combined with the wider team’s professionalism, made the whole process feel as smooth and straightforward as possible.<br>I would wholeheartedly recommend GH, JR and the team to anyone looking to sell a property.

From our first viewing with Cavan, through the negotiations, and all the way to completing the purchase of a home we’ve fallen in love with, they were exceptional every step of the way.<br><br>Buying a property can be a rollercoaster, but their clear communication, professionalism, patience, and supportive approach made the process much easier to navigate. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Matthew James to anyone looking to buy or sell a home.
5th Aug 2026 (18 days ago)Salter Rex managed our block of seven flats for seven years. Throughout that time, in our experience, the building suffered from ongoing rodent infestations, the communal areas were in a terrible state, the communal front door could literally be pushed open if you leaned on it, there were serious security concerns, and the carpets had become trip hazards. The condition of the building was, in our opinion, completely unacceptable.<br><br>Over the years, the service charges increased to around £1,800 per flat, per year. There are seven flats in the building, so you do the maths. Whenever we questioned the charges or requested supporting invoices for the contractors, maintenance or cleaning that we were paying for through the service charge, we felt our concerns were dismissed and were instead met with threats of debt recovery or court action if payment wasn’t made.<br><br>About a year ago, one of the other leaseholders put a note through my tenants’ door asking to get in touch because they had also had enough. As all of our flats were tenanted, it was incredibly difficult to track each other down, but eventually we managed to make contact with every leaseholder.<br><br>Together, all seven leaseholders instructed a solicitor and exercised our legal Right to Manage. For anyone who doesn’t know, Right to Manage (RTM) is a legal process that allows qualifying leaseholders to take over the management of their building by forming their own RTM company. It took around a year, but we were successful.<br><br>We have now removed Salter Rex as our managing agent and taken control of our own building. We appoint our own contractors, decide how our service charge money is spent and invest it back into improving the building instead of paying excessive management fees.<br><br>To any leaseholders who have had a similar experience with Salter Rex, or any other managing agent, please don’t assume you’re stuck with them. Look into your Right to Manage. It is absolutely possible to remove your managing agent if the leaseholders work together. It takes time, patience and commitment, but I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made.<br><br>And finally, to Salter Rex: the way we felt we were treated over the last seven years was deeply disappointing. I genuinely don’t know how you sleep at night, but I do know one thing I sleep a lot better knowing my hard-earned money is no longer going into your pockets.<br><br>Peace & love.

17th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)What a different way to sell a home, with supportive, gentle and trustworthy people. We’d been mulling over the idea of relocating out of London for years and even discussed putting our home on the market with Unique previously. What we like is that there is no big sales pitch, no pressure to sell, just listening and responding. But more importantly, keeping both our buyers and us calm, communicative and friendly throughout the sale, so it felt as smooth as it could possibly be. We’re not planning to do move again any time soon, but we’d definitely use Unique if we were.
13th May 2026 (15 weeks ago)This is a terrible agency, and I am extremely disappointed with the service I received today. I arranged a viewing in NW9 and spoke with one of their agents, Alexandra, who confirmed that I should be at the property at 3:00 PM. I even arrived 10 minutes early. However, despite the rainy weather, no agent showed up. Usually, an agent is there to guide you through the viewing, even if the tenant is still living in the property. Alexandra was completely unprofessional and irresponsible. I waited there until 3:30 PM, trying several times to contact her by message. She told me that the tenant would open the door, but nobody answered. After waiting another 10 minutes in the rain, I still received no help. Alexandra later claimed that the tenant had left, which made the whole situation even more confusing. I travelled all the way from SW18, which took me around 1 hour and 20 minutes each way, so this was a complete waste of my time. To make matters worse, when I called the agency, the lady on the phone was rude and blamed me for being late, even though I had arrived early. In reality, the agent herself failed to show up. In London, transport delays can happen, and professional agencies usually wait at least 10 minutes for clients. Instead, I was treated unfairly and spoken to disrespectfully. I would absolutely not recommend this agency to anyone. Their customer service is terrible, their communication is poor, and they are highly unprofessional. Overall, it was a horrible experience.

He has been incredibly helpful and responsive, as well as being friendly and patient. Again, highly recommend!

He was always responsive, proactive and incredibly helpful, and made what could have been a stressful transaction feel much smoother. He kept things moving, communicated clearly, and was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. As a first-time buyer, that made a huge difference. I’d happily recommend Louis and Elderton & Co to anyone buying or selling in the area!

My only feedback would be regarding the website, as I personally find it quite difficult to navigate and a little unclear in places. It can sometimes feel a bit all over the place when trying to find particular information. I think a slightly simpler and more organised layout would make such a difference and make the overall experience much easier for potential tenants/buyers. Just some friendly constructive feedback as everything else seems great :)
