9th Nov 2022 (3 years ago)AVOID! both as a tenant and as a landlord. I'm a tenant in a property under their portfolio, I'm facing severe lack of communication and total lack of integrity. I'm in the unfortunate situation of desperately needing to move out early due to personal health reasons. I can't move out until Maskells finds a replacement tenant. Their approach has been to try and profit from the situation, which I personally find morally wrong. Rather than trying to replace me, they are putting an out of the market price to try and squeeze extra pounds of commission without any risk, as the property is not vacant. Communication related to the process has also been lacking and not transparent. Tenants: you are better off with some other agencies. Landlords: find someone with integrity to manage your properties.

He understood our requirements, and always had these in mind when we were viewing.<br>We were always comfortable and not show unsuitable properties, advice and local knowledge was always shared with us.<br>For Robert Holmes finding us the right property was not just a matter of getting a sale but finding what was right for us as their client, it has been like being looked after by family.<br>We would highly recommend Robert Holmes, their service and professionalism is outstanding.

She had a key role in the transaction and actually made it happen despite a very delayed timeline and some unhelpful roadblocks in between - she was always available, and always trying to bring everyone and everything together, with amazing communication throughout and one clear focus on getting the deal over the finish line. Stellar job from her side I must say. Very glad she was involved and will happily go back to her for any future property endeavours!

I have been very impressed with the way they communicated with me before and after each viewing. I have received the feedback from the potential buyer soon after the viewing and was kept updated from the start to the end.
28th Mar 2026 (22 weeks ago)I’ve had a nightmare experience with john co since the very beginning. First, they were incredibly inefficient with the move-in process, delaying my tenancy start date by three weeks and leaving the property vacant for that entire time. What makes this even more ridiculous is that they failed to carry out mandatory safety inspections (EICR, Gas Safety, EPC) during those three weeks of vacancy. Instead, they have contacted me three times in just my first three weeks of living here, demanding access for various contractors. It feels as though they are using me as an unpaid property manager to coordinate their overdue maintenance. If you value your time, privacy, and mental peace, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Their management is a complete mess.
8th Aug 2026 (18 days ago)The team here really doesn’t seem to care about tenants. They often do not reply to emails or requests for help. They also send the cheapest contractors possible to run checks or (if you’ve asked a few times) fix things, and they only give a 12 hour window where a contractor “might” come. If you’re gone that day, and give ample notice that you will not be in, they won’t respond to your emails, and some poor contractor will call you at 9:30pm in the rain asking where you are.<br><br>I’m unsure if it’s inexperience or the state of renting in London. We love our flat, and our landlord seems kind, our biggest thorn is working with this agency.

9th Jan 2026 (7 mo. ago)I am disgusted by the way [Cranbrook letting Ltd] treats people. We viewed a property and were explicitly told by the agent that the house was ours and we could proceed with the rental. We started making plans and stopped looking at other places based on their word. ?However, shortly after, they went behind our backs and gave the house to someone else without a word of explanation. This level of dishonesty is appalling. ?To make matters worse, the stress and disappointment caused by this agency's lies literally made my mother sick. We spent time, energy, and hope on this, only to be treated like we didn't matter. They are unprofessional, untrustworthy, and have zero compassion for the families they deal with. If you want an agency that keeps its promises, look elsewhere."
